Intent on getting back to the business of spreading Democracy and Liberty after a wild IRL ride, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has deployed another patch. Primarily focused on quashing bugs, it looks like there was an issue with how DOT (damage over time) was being handled, and the troublesome R-9 Eruptor should (hopefully) be less lethal to friends.
The full patch notes can be perused on Steam. Other highlights include alleged fixes to misaligned scopes while aiming in first-person and many fixes for the game's Social Menu. Hopefully, online friends' statuses will now be displayed appropriately, and we'll properly be able to target specific Automaton weak points.
On the community side, Operation Clean Up continues apace as further proof that there's something special about this game. Driven entirely by fans, the aim is to overturn the many thousands of negative reviews placed in response to Sony's controversial decision to implement mandatory PSN linking for PC players. A Major Order has even been mocked up, parroting Arrowhead's UI, and if there's one thing we've learned in recent days, there appears to be nothing in the galaxy capable of standing against the might of the Helldivers.

I am always happy when the game gets patches because they always improve the already-great game and usually sneak in extra stuff.
Hopefully the PC master race can move on from its hysterics and we can return to normal... Game is sick

They ruined the Eruptor. Nice going AH.
@Cloud7794 the eruptor nerf is non existent. Speaking as a player who uses the eruptor exclusively since it was launched its only become better. Yeah OK the shrapnel has been removed but the explosive radius has been expanded and the damage is actually back to how it was. 2-3 shots to take down a charger if you get the sweet spot. People complain about the nerfs but in all honesty if you are enjoying the game then you'll hardly ever notice. One thing I'll add is that I'm glad the shrapnel has been erased because that ricochet shot that always bounces back at you was a one shot insta kill for you and the poor sap stood next to you. Good move for democracy.
@Northern_munkey I've been running near exclusively the Eruptor and the Blitzer for the past month - ttk with the Eruptor has gone up and its utility is down. In particular, when fighting Terminids, Brood Commanders and Hive Guards no longer get 1-shot with well-placed shots. Nursing and Bile Spewers sometimes do but now it's far less consistent. That's not even to mention how much worse it is at hoard-clearing now.
Taking away its shrapnel took away much of both its utility and uniqueness. Its now just a worse Dominator that can take out some objectives. I'm aware that people were dying to their own ricochet shots, but that's more an issue with how the game registers friendly-fire damage, and that's what should have changed. The Breaker Incendiary feels like the team-kill king of primaries at the moment, and I'd had to see that nerfed because of it.
I know this is a lot of text, but ultimately the shrapnel was very core to the identity of the weapon and was the actual fun part of running it. As usual I'm still gonna be enjoying the game but it's hard finding a primary that feels solid and it sucks to be running the same things all the time because the rest feel inconsequential.
@Cloud7794 I guess it's horses for courses my friend. I personally really love the erupter. I run it with the stalwart,shield back pack and orbital rail cannon and orbital laser strikes..its quite a formidable build especially with what deadonfred brings with him too..sorry to hear its been ruined for you but for me it's superb 👍
