We’ve been writing about boxing sim Undisputed for quite some time, but developer Steel City Interactive has been busy behind-the-scenes. Its long-awaited sports game was always intended to enter the ring on PS5, and now it has an official release date: 11th October is the big day. A new trailer embedded above should get you in the mood for what’s looking like one of the most promising sports games of the current generation.
For years now, the UK studio has been talking a big game. It’s promising the largest roster of licensed boxers ever, including names like Tyson Fury, Muhammad Ali, Deontay Wilder, Oleksandr Usyk, and more. But it’s the gameplay that looks revolutionary: the release features an innovative footwork animation system, as well as a heartrate-based stamina mechanic. It looks, and has always looked, incredible.
You can pre-order on the PS Store right now, and you’ll get the 1993 version of Roy Jones Jr as a reward. There’s a Deluxe WBC Edition also available, which comes with a bunch of additional content, including younger versions of Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, and Muhammad Ali. Frankly, we think this looks fantastic, and if it delivers on its promise, then it’ll easily become one of the best sports games you can buy on PS5.

It’s not great at all. Already played this on steam
Looks amazing. Like fight night round 5
It looks great but I’ve heard some baaaad things about the early access. Perhaps it’ll turn itself around, like how eFootball’s actually genuinely fun to play.
@Styledvinny79 Okay, that’s interesting, because it looks phenomenal to me. Please tell us more: Is the gameplay repetitive or not precise enough?
been waiting forever for a boxing game fingers crossed its good
Can you knock out Jake Paul?!
@Swirly he wont be in it. Only real boxers in this game 😂😜
@Kidfunkadelic83 Shame. Hopefully Iron Mike hasn't rusted and does the job in July. Game looks great
@Swirly yeah man i hoping Mike deals out the punishment and doesnt gas out too early. I think personally Jake doesnt know what hes let himself in for and once hes in the ring with Mikes eyes locked on to him its finally going to hit home.
I agree, game looks awsome.
@nessisonett wait, is there TWO eFootball games? Because the one I've played is terrible!
No offline modes, hardly any teams, no edit mode, can only access half the settings. And the gameplay I thought was better a few months ago. I tried last week and it was back to feeling like the ball was stuck in treacle every time you want to pass to someone. Like, ridiculously slow. And the whole game just has a feeling of being on rails for some reason.
@Max_the_German I've not played been waiting because as it stands its not great.
Graphics are amazing at times but alot of animations just aren't there.
Knockouts are pretty rubbish.
Career mode is shallow.
Feels like your fighting with pillows on your hands and ai boxers are taking punches like sponges instead of any Real impact.
Games still in early access and the online seems like its not worth it.
Lots more but thats the main negatives from the reviews on steam.
Looks great has potential but isn't a full game and many missing animations and slow.
Some.are saying the game was better when it first released.
Its no fight night but the potential is there but hasn't been reached it seems
@tomassi It has no content but the core gameplay is still ahead of FIFA.
Maaaan, I really hope it's great. Browsed the negative steam reviews and it seems to me like many of their issues could be addressed in a patch or two, which is very encouraging.
Heard there's a secret super arcade mode if anyone is looking for that. Triggers every time the match is Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward lol
Looking forward to this!
@Kidfunkadelic83 It'd be great if you could use him as a dummy in training mode. I'd pay for it if it was DLC.
Interesting ,I gave fight night rd 4 a go the other day on ps3 and its still great honestly ,this one looks as though at least graphically it'll be stunning
