Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Trophies

Update: Just to confirm, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has launched today with zero Trophies. While this isn't the first time for a FromSoftware expansion to eschew gongs entirely, the sheer scale of the add-on means their absence will come as a disappointment to some. Still, we suspect you'll be playing the expansion regardless, and you'll find our Elden Ring guide a huge help if you are.

Original Article: Shadow of the Erdtree, the massive Elden Ring expansion that's releasing on the 21st June, won't bring any new Trophies to the open world RPG. This info comes from the ever-reliable PlayStation Game Size, and we can't help but be left baffled by FromSoftware's decision.

As you may know, Trophy support is mandatory for all newly released PlayStation games — but that's not the case for DLC. However, this supposedly monstrous expansion is priced at £34.99 / $39.99, so for it to completely skip Sony's digital trinkets seems absurd.

This isn't the first time that the Japanese developer has ignored Trophies, though. To date, the only FromSoftware DLC to sport additional gongs is Bloodborne's The Old Hunters — and that was partly developed by Sony's own Japan Studio.

Still, it's 2024, and one of the biggest, most anticipated expansions of our time doesn't have Trophies. How do you feel about this? We're confident the DLC will be superb regardless, but feel free to express disappointment in the comments section below.
