In the last 24 hours, Lara Croft has been confirmed as a survivor in asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight and as part of a crossover in martial arts battle royale Naraka: Bladepoint. The heroine, one of the most famous protagonists in PlayStation history, is clearly still popular – and franchise owner Embracer seems willing to license the character out to anyone interested.
Beginning from 16th July, Dead by Daylight players will be able to test out Ms Croft’s survival skills, as she faces her toughest test yet: the villainous Entity. “While stripped of her trusty bow and pistols, her greatest weapons remain intact,” the press release reveals. “Her unwavering tenacity, wealth of survival expertise, and bravery are represented with three unique Perks to balance the scales in her favour.”
Lara’s iconic outfit will also be available in Naraka: Bladepoint, as a new look for existing character Matari. That’s due out in August.
Elsewhere, the battle royale is doubling down on crossovers, with Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt set to be added as a fully playable character later this year. These two announcements come as the popular title celebrates its third anniversary, with more information to be announced in the coming months.

I'm all for crossovers. I'm thirsty for TR content!
Im not all for cross overs. I want a Tomb Raider game not spin off junk used as an excuse to keep the name TR alive. I disnt mind the reboots but i think its even more apparent from the 1-3 remakes that TR was at its best back on PS1 when you were actually "tomb raiding" , from a gameplay and setting point of view.
It's like the 90's never ended...
@BeerIsAwesome Embracer Group should feature as the accompanying killer in DbD
Is is bad that I don’t know the difference between Dead by Daylight and Dying Light? 😅
lol wow , forreal? 😂 putting badass characters like leon/lara/jill etc that would fold creatures/monsters/goons in their respective franchises as defenseless wimps in a game like dbd is so cringe; might as well throw ryu or solid snake in there next, hahaha
no but seriously why is this same old trash game even still relevant :/
@BeerIsAwesome Imagine you're fixing a generator, minding your own business, but then you turn around and... oh ***** a group of Embracer executives!
@Perturbator The name fits. The Embracer sounds like a horror villain.
Erm okay, hasn’t nearly every character in Dead By Daylight died and ended up there.
Last I checked Lara was still alive, then again most of the survivors were still alive before ended up there though.
Still doesn’t make sense adding Lara though DBD was supposed to be Hotror themed only
@Th3solution yes, because you can just easily look it up instead of farming likes.
@BeerIsAwesome Don't Amazon own Miss Croft now?
#MakeLaraGreatAgain!
@get2sammyb. As @sanderson72 pointed out, doesn’t Amazon own the rights to Tomb Raider now? So wouldn’t it be Amazon, not Embracer, licensing out the character?
How to devalue a mascot character....
Everywhere....except in a new Tomb Raider game.
I like the Dead by Daylight crossover. The game already has so many crossovers, why not add Tomb Raider.
Yeah seems like embracer desperately needs that money.
Survivor Lara Croft is best design
@DarkTron My (obviously poor) attempt a joke, that’s all. Sorry that it didn’t land.
Nonetheless, it was moreover a veiled criticism of the rather repetitive and trite naming of so many of these video games. For as creative a business that game writing and development is, I don’t understand why we get these generic copycat game titles. These are made by artists that can dream up and create impossible worlds of wonder and imagination, with clever stories and engaging characters… yet so many game titles end up repetitive and void of any personality or distinguishing panache.
I mean, its fine. I won’t lose sleep over it. I like Tomb Raider and Lara Croft so I did search the game (not google though — Yuck! Right here at Push Square is more efficient) and see that Dead by Daylight is the one with the ‘killer vs survivors’ multiplayer aspects and so, I just don’t think I have much interest, even with Lady Croft as an enticement. Hopefully others end up enjoying it though.
