Sony's current-gen virtual reality hardware, PSVR2, is great, but only if you're willing to cough up some serious cash for it. With an RRP of £529.99, it's a big investment on top of your PS5, and likely a significant barrier to entry for many. Fortunately, the headset is currently heavily discounted at various outlets in the UK, slimming the cost down by roughly a third.
At the time of writing, retailers like Amazon UK, Smyth's Toys, Currys, Argos, and GAME are listing PSVR2 on sale, with adjusted prices bringing it down to roughly £350.

As far as we can recall, this is the first time PSVR2 has had its price slashed like this. It's a great opportunity to get in on the tech if you've been on the fence. £350 is still a lot of money, but it's certainly an easier pill to swallow than £530.
This price cut comes just before PSVR2's compatibility with PC goes live which, if you already have a decent PC, represents a good value add for Sony's goggles. It goes without saying, but this deal is obviously only around for a limited time, so now's your chance to get PSVR2 for a fair bit less.
Will you be taking advantage of the UK's PSVR2 sale? Let us know in the comments section below.

If it could play all the PSVR games too it would be worth considering, but when a product's price is nearly slashed in half and I'm still not interested you know there's something amiss. It could've had the potential for a very valuable collectors piece, but there aren't even any physical copies of games to collect for it.
What games are there actually worth playing on this anyway?
That's a good reduction...but the future hardly looks great for it.....wish I never got mine....techs great and all...but just ain't that many good games ..and I just CBA to put it on to play it lol....live and learn will be my first and last vr
Pretty good price cut.
Unfortunately this thing is still worth the full 600 bloody euros where I live.
I'm going to buy it this time or on Black Friday. Any recommendations for good games, including game suggestions for my elderly parents.
Price aside, what always surprises me the most is how unaffected people seem to be by the "VR factor" alone. Personally, I can't stress enough how much more fun I usually have due to it alone. I have to admit I had put it aside for a while, but recently I've played Hubris and Synapse back to back and currently I am dabbling in Galaxy Kart and started Madison. Not ashamed to admit that I had way more fun playing them than some critically acclaimed AAA games. That magic every single time when you put the headset on is simply unmatched for me. And while I agree that VR needs to make use of bigger IP more to draw more people in, at the same time, I'm baffled that a lot of people are so unenthusiastic referring to the overall experience. Sometimes, it seems like people do not even want to give the games any chance at all, there's so much good stuff out there. Although I'm spending significantly more time playing flat, not once have I regretted paying full price at launch.
Meaty price cut, but still not interested! Not wireless, and with the exception of No Mans Sky, none of the games interest me tbh
Reads like they’re just trying to clear the stock at this point. Doubt PSVR2 is salvageable.
I really enjoyed the psvr2 for about two months, i would like to play the horizon game but is so expensive. Now i use it maybe once a month, waiting for behemot and metro.
My biting point will be 200-250 UK pounds. I had one on launch and was disappointed with Sony's software output, sold if for a small loss. I would have another one but im not supporting a company that doesnt support its product.... at full price anyway.
I feel it may be worth it when paired with a PC now that the update is out, but can't see it being worth much purely on the PS5 now
The GT7 VR experience is a must for all
@mrbone Arizona sunshine
What an attractive price point!
Let me recommend you, dear reader, to join the club and partake in a novel way to game.
Many others are good too, but it won't replace your flatscreen gaming altogether if you are a bit lazy.
@Old-Red what are you talking about,there's 15-20 physical games for psvr2.It has some great games with re8,re4,gt7,call of the mountain,saints and sinners 1&2,moss 1&2 and the list goes on.....you just have to look
@StylesT maybe there aren't many good games becayse you can't be bothered to put it on...
I will hold off until black friday which it will most likely be going for under £300 and with a game.
@StylesT how many games have you tried?I have an endless backlog and I've really enjoyed at least 30 games
If you're interested, and can afford it, my advice would be to bite the bullet and go for it. It's a great experience playing in VR. I'm also finding lots of enjoyment in games I didn't think I'd ever really be interested in
Bugger, but a little work bonus bought mine. My PC is quietly waiting for F1 23, ACC, Elite Dangerous, Fallout 4, and many others to go VR. Exciting times for Sony expansion, might actually save the device and give PlayStation some extra kudos in the process.
@dschons I platinumed’ Hubris earlier in the year, good little game that for the price.
Also, it's £329.99 at Smyths
I'm kinda bored of this on going narrative that PSVR2 "haz n0 gAmEz"
GT7 with a wheel/rig alone is enough to justify a price of £1000+. I know that sounds like bs but I've been gaming for over 30 years (I have nearly 200 platinum trophies on psn) and nothing comes close to the experience you get with GT7 in VR. I'm not even a driving game fan. Well... I wasn't.
Don't forget about the great games we've got access to via ps+ premium too.
Fantastic price imo
@OneWingedFantasy While I am a staunch defender of "only pay what you're personally willing to pay" and that launch price is a hefty sum for most, some people have seriously crazy expectations, lol. I can't even count the times I've read "This should be 200 at most". Sure, Jan.
@StylesT Yeah, I had the same thing with the original. After I'd showed my friends the shark diving thing, and got them to try it; after we'd all had fun being too scared to go through a door in RE7; after I'd got bored of the novelty of watching films in VR like I was on a pitch black cinema... after all that, I realised I just wasn't going to use it again.
I do think there's something magical about VR, certain experiences felt like playing games for the first time as a kid, but at the same time there are too many problems with it and not enough support.
Typical got mine last week just a tip if you have PS plus premium you get 5 or 6 PSVR 2 included and they are all pretty good games as well.
I would buy one at 200.
It's worth it for that price. There's more than enough good games to justify it for that fee. I'd recommend if you've got the money.
(And if you have PS Plus Premium, you'll instantly have access to several games)
On payday as well! That is really really really tempting. Can any glasses wearers who have it give me a bit of feedback on their experience? PSVR1 was playable but not particularly comfortable.
@GeeEssEff I suggest lens inserts or contacts. I've been using lens inserts from VR Optician and couldn't be happier. They snap onto the headset lenses and you won't need your glasses. There are solid ones from several overseas manufacturers as well for cheaper. If you have no issues wearing contacts though, I still think this is the best solution. Unfortunately, I can't use contacts any more, used to with the first PSVR.
@mrbone for your parents, I'd highly recommend Puzzling Places.
For anyone else, Beat the Beats, Beat Saber, and Pistol Whip. They're three of the most fun games I've ever played.
@naruball @mrbone I'll add Kayak Mirage for your parents, Puzzling Places is a great suggestion. That said, it is difficult to recommend anything as it is also very dependent on how much your parents react to motion sickness. Puzzling places should not pose any threat here, but anything that involves movement can potentially cause it.
One major tip I can give you is: If you're feeling a little dizzy (meaning in the head), closing your eyes and standing still for a few seconds can already help, take it step by step then. In case you're feeling funny or sick to your stomach, stop IMMEDIATELY. The latter is a clear sign to take a long break from it as you can't overcome it, contrary to the first example. I've seen more than three people trying to push through and they all ended up in the bathroom, lol.
@naruball when i had my VR just after launch i played PW alooooot. Its a fantastic game and a good workout lol.
Nice try, Loch Ness Monster!
I ain’t giving you tree fiddy!
Get your own god damn money!
@Old-Red I would advice watching PSVR Without Parole on Youtube if you're interested in PSVR2. They have regular multiplayer meetups and top 25 lists of games like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US_NoGooZ88
Sony should be giving something back to the early adopters for product that they sold whereby they’ve basically ditched
@Old-Red
RE VII! Oh no wait, that's right...
That game is only on PSVR1... Well darn it
PSVR2 has plenty of games. Just virtually none from Sony themselves.
I wish I had held of buying mine if I'm honest. I love VR in general but it seems like this is dead in the water now.
I have PSVR1, PSVR2 and a Quest 3. PSVR1 was a revelation for me and I only wish Sony had made better controls rather than forcing Move controls onto us.
PSVR2 has some incredible tech built in, amazing controllers but is absolutely going to fail. I'm gutted.
Meta aren't letting up with their VR push and have some amazing exclusive games coming up. There are also plans for new hardware further down the line. This is the platform I wish I'd solely gone with after PSVR1.
Still not interested and probably won't be any time soon.
@GeeEssEff get your prescription and buy some lenses off HonsVR. There's other lense providers, but that's who I used and I've never looked back. Way more comfortable, excellent service from them, and speedy delivery from China to UK
Wow, they are truly chucking in the towel, aren’t they? I’d really love to see what PS Studios developers could have done with PS VR2 - but it doesn’t seem we’re ever going to find out!
@madmaxrules We were never going to have too much from first party I think. The plan they stated from the start was to invest in third party and to take a rising tide approach, with a few SIE games mixed in.
It'll be interesting to see sales in the UK after this price drop though. It's a pretty nice piece of hardware.
@madmaxrules Apparently, there are currently 2 games in development at PS Studios. Which is 2 more than I would've thought.
@dschons quite simple really.
No games appeal to the casual masses. Until there is a fifa/CoD that kinda huge game casuals aren’t going to sink another 300-500 into
Gaming.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Wii proved otherwise.
@AhabSpampurse @dschons Cheers both. I didn’t even know lens inserts were a thing but it’s a genius solution….Ive had a phobia of touching my eyes my entire life so too much of a wuss for contacts. Thanks a lot!
£530 - Nope.
£350 - better.
£035 - I'm in.
£250 i’ll bite but this is still too much, especially with the PS5 Pro looming before the end of the fiscal year.
Around £1000 for PS5 Pro, Portal and PSVR2 and i’ll grab them all.
Well worth it for the resi games, Moss games, Red Matter games, and walking dead games alone, let alone GT7, NMS, Hubris and a load of others. A good dozen absolutely unmissable games of a generation. And all cheap once you make the hardware layout. Everyone owes it to themselves to get one even if they think no other games are going to be released (which is absolutely not the case unless you have a weird first party fetish).
Price is better, but games make the console or PSVR2 in this case.
And Sony know this better than any of them, over their years of experience.
They should put Demo pods with the best games available maybe a choice of three best games you can flick through and try.
I know if my local Currys UK had a demo pod me and few others would give it a try and maybe we might buy the product.
Again Sony knows better than most about PR.
PSVR2 is treated by Sony how Microsoft treat Xbox consoles. Not much PR and great AAA must have games.
@GeeEssEff yeah, they're banging and I wish I'd made the investment ftom day one, as it makes things way more comfortable. Just make sure you're ordering for PSVR2 fixtures and not PSVR1 by mistake... lest you be a pleb like me...
@AhabSpampurse Haha cheers for the tip. I am well overdue an opticians appointment anyway so will leave it till I have an up to date prescription that’s not about 4 years old.
Sony abandoning in 3, 2...
@Styledvinny79 I don’t want something for free from Sony, just Astro Bot Rescue Mission Remastered full price.
I will buy a couple of these VR gadgets as soon as the price goes back up. Discounts are for poor people.
@Shepherd_Tallon You’re right, it is. It’s great quality and I really like using it. I don’t think I’ve had £530-worth of use out of it, but maybe you and @dschons are right and we’ll see some Sony stuff come through in time!
Surely its just a clearance sale to empty the stock they haven't been able to shift these last year.
I doubt very much its the new price to secure its long term future.
SO many issues but wtf though a £550 games peripheral would fly?
@naruball the Wii had Mario kart, Zelda and so on
@lindos come to think of it, if you told anyone like a decade ago that people would buy 1500 USD phones, they'd find it just as unlikely. Price is not the issue. If it were popular, people would still buy it. But I get why it's still niche and Sony is a big part of the reason.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner so did the Wiiu (Gamecube and n64, right?).
@OldGamer999 problem with Demo booths (I agree would be good)
They would just get trashed or stolen. So too much hassle these days
@naruball I’m not really following your point.
Casuals didn’t race out to buy the Wii/u at £500 then spend another £500 ontop
@PsBoxSwitchOwner it's ok. I'll try again.
You argued that Wii sold well because it had Mario Kart, Zelda etc. I counter argued that those games weren't enough to help WiiU, N64 or Gamecube take off. It was games like WiiSports, WiiPlay, WiiFit. Games that (unlike CoD, Fifa) were not huge IPs when they came out.
I also provided the example of (mobile/cell) phones. They didn't used to cost that much, but iphones became a cool item to have, prices skyrocketed without affecting sales. In other words, the price doesn't matter when the product is perceived as a must have.
it's about damn time. The high price point was always a massive negative about the headset. Now they might get some improved numbers.
@Old-Red
Games worth playing:
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil Village
Gran Turismo 7
Vertigo 2
Madison VR
No Man's Sky
The Light Brigade
Pistol Whip
Horizon CotM
Hellsweeper
Hubris
Crossfire Sierra Squad
Moss 1 & 2
Red Matter 1& 2
Legendary Tales
Genotype
Ancient Dungeon
Arizona Sunshine 2
Vampire: The Masquerade: Justice
Walkabout Minigolf
Ghost Signal
7th Guest
Synapse
Propogation: Paradise Hotel
Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners 1 & 2
Switchback
After the Fall
Song in the Smoke
Swordsman
Kayak VR
Just off my head. It's understandable, VR is still very niche so doesn't get much mainstream coverage, but YouTube is an incredible resource, particularly WithoutParole, they make a top 25 games list every 6 months. If VR ain't for you, i get it, however there are alot of worthwhile games to play on it, its just not clarified often enough to most.
@naruball I think we are talking at cross purposes and I didn’t explain myself well.
Vr2 doesn’t have the titles that will get casuals to buy it.
Wii/u does have titles that interest casuals, Mario etc
@PsBoxSwitchOwner then why did WiiU not sell well?
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
When they have had demo pods in Currys many years ago they seemed ok.
I found it’s more if they fail and need resetting, they don’t get reset so sit there in limbo.
Sony should use the Sony TV rep in Currys store to keep the demo pod looked after.
That’s all they have to do as they already pay for the Sony tv rep to be there like LG have a tv rep.
There are solutions if Sony really wants to do it, it’s just they probably don’t want to.
@naruball
Let’s just hope Nintendo don’t call the obvious name Switch 2 the Switch U 🤣
@OldGamer999 they could call it a sock and people would still buy it. Their handhelds always (apart from virtual boy) perform well. It was a brilliant move to make the switch hybrid.
@Gaia093 I’m pretty sure shopto.net deliver internationally if you’re interested in importing?
@naruball
Very true I have one but always play docked of course for those Nintendo AAA studio games only.
I will preorder a Switch 2 the second I can.
The only thing that will stop me is if it doesn’t release with big Nintendo AAA games, but the time they are taking releasing the console we should have a good couple of them on release.
If it doesn’t it will be a rubbish release for me and also make me wonder what the hell have Nintendo been doing, as that seems to have been one of their excuses for not release Switch 2 earlier.
@OldGamer999 you can always count on Nintendo for great exclusives. They sometimes take a while, but excellent 1st party games will be released eventually. So at best you'll get it day 1, at worst, wait a few months for them to be released. But it's a sure bet. Even WiiU had great games.
@naruball The reason the Wii sold so well was because it had a unique selling point that people were actaully interested in which was the Family/Party and Exercise focus and peripherals, The switch has a unique selling point in it also being an handheld and has a wii style controller layout for fitness/party games so people were interested in that as well. The Wii U and GameCube offered no unique selling point that people were interested in, Most of Nintendo's console sales don't come from the games selling the system, it's the systems gimmicks that help Nintendo push sales.
If the next Nintendo Console is just a home console that offers no gimmicks then it's sales will be less than half what the Switch has and the casuals won't bother with it.
@naruball I get that its everyone has different priorities but it does always gets me. People will happily pay over £1000 for the last Apple Pro max which does the exact same thing as the old one. and in some cases they will do it yearly just to make calls on the latest version. But £500 for a console every 7 years is a ridiculous price.
@ThorsHammer nice to know mate. Had to bite at this price.
@UltimateOtaku91
Sorry not strictly correct. The WII U which I had could be played in a handheld mode sort off as we know, so it had a unique selling point against the other home consoles.
Switch is also selling well because NIntendo have taken away their hand held consoles so Switch is the only option.
Nintendo of course planned this, so only one hardware device had to made and one lot of games produced.
However Nintendo especially during the WII era sold far more consoles and games having both home and held devices. Only Nintendo will know financially if it is better to have both home and hand held console or just the Switch hybrid.
The Switch has done well but one reason is because Nintendo took away the hand held console option.
@OldGamer999 Yes but the WiiU gamepad was also the controller to play normal games with, people weren't interested in playing games with that thing. Playing handheld also wasn't compatible with evey game and also needs the main console unit to be on to play handheld mode. Then there was the awful naming of the console as some people just thought it was another Wii variation.
The WiiU had some great exclusives but still couldn't get many sales, there's no other reason why it failed so hard other than those points I mentioned.
@Ilyn I know, right? My partner recently bought me an iphone for like 1000 euro and for the life of me, I don't get what's so special about it compared to my OnePlus from several years ago. But when I bought a ps5, that was deemed unnecessary, since I still haven't played all my ps3 and ps4 games.
@UltimateOtaku91 exactly! That was the main selling point. Not Zelda or Mario.
@UltimateOtaku91
Totally agree but I did sort of enjoy it at times.
It was interesting reading overall console sales for 2024 across the board yesterday.
Sort of showing overall how it’s definitely in a small decline.
Will be interesting to see if it levels off, gets lower or increases over many months
But it’s definitely because overall this new generation has really done nothing new compared to last generation and cross generation games also yet again for FIFA and COD this year. Also the cost of the big two consoles is expensive especially in Europe. Also the lack of big AAA game franchises.
Also the Switch is near to end of life of gone past it almost, not helping.
@OldGamer999 Yeah this is the point where the latest consoles will start to get big price cuts, we've seen it with the VR2 today and id wager before Christmas the standard PS5 and the Switch consoles will get a permanent price cut. That will probably help sales pick up a bit but I can't see the PS5 reaching the PS4 figures and i definitely don't see the "Switch 2" doing as well as the Switch.
@UltimateOtaku91
Continuing on about consoles sales overall.
I for decades have employed apprentices 16 to 20 year old and degree graduates 21 to 23.
Over the years I bust in on their conversations and say years ago roughly it used to be sometimes, consoles this and that any games this and that, also COD and FIFA chats.
Fast forward to the last two years and especially now, absolutely nothing from the new in takes.
It’s a little bit PC, news, work or tv programmes, other hobbies, cars chat. Not gaming now and again.
This wonderfully amazing console hobby of ours is in and heading for decline.
Obviously this is just my experience UK.
@OldGamer999 Same at my work, I'm known as the gamer whilst everyone else just wants to talk abouy women, tv shows and football. One guy has a ps5 but no games, just bought it ready for GTA 6 lol. I don't know if gaming is in decline or if it's just youngsters these days just find it too nerdy to talk about, like if they talk about games they are going to get mocked for it or something. It's a shame really and it's a reason why I appreciate sites like this more.
@UltimateOtaku91
At my work they would talk about gaming as they are sort of that way inclined.
It’s just not as popular and I have no one to talk a little about gaming to 🤣
I thinking in the future it will decline and possibly only room for two main stream consoles making it worth while for the companies.
Which I think we know will be Sony and Nintendo.
But they only have themselves to blame. They went to early with series and PS5 consoles, they keep cross generation games, charge higher prices for games and consoles and have not really brought much new to the table.
Stick your PS4 Pro or Xbox one x on and with a top tv doing up scaling magic as well it’s hard to tell the difference. And on a small bedroom tv there is no difference at all.
Developers taking an age to release big AAA games and games releasing with bugs and performance issues, then with what else I have mentioned you have a massive recipe for declining overall sales.
180 price cut and it’s still a no from me. Way to expensive even at that price, you can still wait for my money
£329 in Smyths
Well theres 10 people that work in my place and about 7 of us all have PS5's (after i bullied them all in to getting one) we range form 42 - 28 and the younger ones are always talking about COD whilst the older ones are more in to GT7 and our RPGs etc. Its a strange.
Finally the scalping is over and you can finally get them at the real retail price! /s
Seriously though it should have been subsidized and launched at this price if they really wanted to make something of VR. Now, especially happening in July instead of November, it just looks like inventory reduction clearance, not a reboot of the PSVR2 brand to push it into the black. Absolutely worth it, but as someone for whom VR is now important in gaming, I think this highlights that I've made the right choice ordering a Quest 3 and planning to move to PC where there's more life in it. But for anyone that doesn't have any other VR avenue, and wouldn't want to spend even that much, this price makes it a must-have IMO.
@TrickyDicky99 @lindos "SO many issues but wtf though a £550 games peripheral would fly?"
It's a biproduct of Sony corporate culture. They don't lead and innovate. They look over their shoulder to see what the other guy is doing and then copy that and claim its their own. No doubt they looked at other wired display port headsets, where most PCVR sets are over $1000 and thought "ours is a bargain." Then they looked at Quest, and saw the price difference from Quest 2 to Quest Pro (3 wasn't out yet), considered their own to be more like Quest pro, at the time $1500, and thought "ours is a bargain." And never once looked at the playstation market and thought "who'd buy a $550 PS peripheral?" And never once looked at the landscape once Quest 3 released and adjusted to match the market, because "Sony brand power" exists in their world.
@Ilyn @naruball LOL,the phone market is a weird market. And the Apple market in general. It's not about how good the phone is. Does the latest phone really do anything that the 5 year old phones didn't do exactly the same? Not unless you play games on it and need the power in which case it's just a tiny console. The phone upgrade is a fashion accessory and status symbol. It's not for YOU, it's for everyone who sees you wearing it. It's Italian shoes. A new fur coat. It's an iPhone Pro!
@OldGamer999 I think there's still a stigma attached to gaming that one avoids it withing 1000 feet of anything business related. It's unfortunate, but I, myself would appear as a "non-gamer" in any professional setting, by choice. I kind of liken saying "I play video games" to saying "I drink till I pass out, wanna see all my gang tats?" in a business. I don't think I'd assume those kids that don't talk games don't actually play games, though they may well play on their phone. It's a shame, but I don't think games will ever not have a stigma to them. But I think it remains publicly seen as a vice rather than a hobby.
Meanwhile windows enterprise servers for the most up-tight 3-piece-suit organizations of have Xbox branding all over the start menu....shrug
@Czar_Khastik But adjusted for inflation the normal price should be higher!
@NEStalgia
Well I’m the boss so we talk games it’s compulsory 🤣🤣🤣
Yes in the 80s at school it was a nerdy past time but I’m sure we have moved on extremely from those dark gaming days.
@OldGamer999 LOL, meetings are all hosted in Steitzer's voice?
DOUBLE SAALE!
FINAL. INVOICE.
OOVERTIIIME!
It's weird because we went through a phase where gaming was mainstream, not nerdy, common media. I'd say that was probably the Wii era, along with PS360. But it seems like it's gone from children's toy, to nerdy, to mainstream media, and then backward where it's somewhere between "immature children's toy for subhumans" and "life damaging vice.
I'm sure the addiction-based sales models have played a big part in that. We've gone from toys, to nerds, to mainstream, to having help hotlines for gaming addiction and governments starting to regulate it like gambling. It feels worse than when it was a toy or nerdy, now it feels like a controlled substance used recreationally.
"Normal" "Non-gamer" people still look down upon it as an immature activity or worse, so it's still something you avoid talking about in civilized conversation. IDK how it rolled back, but it did.
OTOH the #1 box office hits are comic books.....
@Kidfunkadelic83 I bought a steering wheel..you recommend gt7..I bought gt7..you've recommend the vr2 headset but I'm not biting..at least not until I've got my new steering wheel setup. I've always been a more action orientated gamer but just lately I'm a born again petrol head and I don't think I'm ever going to be the same gamer I was 2 months ago. I'll probably get psvr2 at some point for gt7 and EA wrc but not just yet no matter how much you bully me 😥
@Northern_munkey dont get a VR then because after playing GT7 with a VR 1, you wont ever want to take it off as the expierience is that amazing and 2, pancake racing just wont be the same again lol. GT7 almost makes a VR worth the asking price. Its THAT good!!
It's still £150 more than I'd be willing to pay for it
I just got one for £480 (like a month ago), so of cause it’s come down to £360, that’s just the way the universe like to kick me in the danglies. Seriously, I’m loving it, at least a couple of hours a day on Arizona Sunshine 2 and GT7. I need to squeeze in a bit of NMS too
Not sure if it was commented but the bundle with Horizon was £369.99 in Smyths Toys.
@NEStalgia "LOL,the phone market is a weird market. It's an iPhone Pro!"
I genuinely couldn't agree more. But it goes to show that people are certainly still willing to pay big bucks for something they see as a must have. I have several friends who bought a ps5 as soon as it was in stock and hardly used it afterwords. They even to ask friends for a loan. Just so that they can have it and... not use it. They weren't even showing it off, like people do with iphones, macbooks, ipads, applewatches, etc.
As for paying 500 USD or more for an accessory (i.e. on top of something expensice), I present you... airpods!
@naruball is so sad really, and it's a mentality I don't understand even if I understand that it exists. That's people do it. The ones doing it for vanity with showing off phones I kind of get, they don't care about the phone, they're shallow and insecure and are afraid of not being part of their group. The ones taking loans to buy a gadget they don't even want to use and not even show it off for status? I really can't get into their headspace at all.
Lol airpods.....longsigh. I've been an audiophile long enough to watch that hobby go from when $400 was really high end to $1000, and now even that's seen as mid tier with (now Sony owned lol) Audeze selling $7000 head vices. I've seen the low quality moderately high price of the Beats phenomenon. Even I never could have predicted audio equipment that poor, that cheaply made, sell for those kinds of prices as iPods. Apple people rule truly are special people. If I had no ethics I could probably find a way to get rich exploiting them 😂
@OneWingedFantasy Or maybe I have bought shed loads of games tried lots of them in vr...and once you are past the wow factor of vr that wears off pretty fast ..there just isn't enough good games to warrant setting it up getting sweaty playing it ..for what for the most part are the equivalent of tech demo games half the time
For me personally I prefer just playing on a flat screen where I can just sit back and chill with a control I have discovered ....and that's why I won't get another vr
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Should have read my post in its entirety as I was addressing that point.
