The next DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1 is Takeda Takahashi, WB Games and NetherRealm Studios have announced. The news comes alongside a splashy gameplay trailer, showing off the playable fighter and all his fancy moves.

Takeda is a character first seen in Mortal Kombat X, a student of Scorpion and an adept fighter who uses serrated whips, explosive kunai, and teleportation to get the best of opponents. The character will be available starting on 23rd July for Kombat Pack owners, and then from 30th July for everyone else.

Similarly, Ferra is coming to the game as a Kameo fighter, and will be available from 23rd July for those with the Kombat Pack and as a standalone purchase.

Both Takeda and Ferra will be playable at Evo, which gets started in Las Vegas later this week, so we're sure fans will get to see plenty of expert gameplay with the new additions. Are you excited about Mortal Kombat 1's next character? Let us know in the comments section below.
