Tony Pankhurst, the UK actor perhaps best known for lending his likeness to The Curator in Supermassive Games' The Dark Pictures Anthology, has passed away.
Spotted by GameSpot, Supermassive posted a short tribute to the actor on X. The actor had a career spanning over 40 years, working as a radio presenter, running his own business, and making numerous appearances on TV and in films like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
However, our audience will probably know Pankhurst best because of his iconic portrayal of The Curator. A recurring, unsettling being who appears in each entry of The Dark Pictures (Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, The Devil in Me), the Curator is a mesmerising character who links the series together through a recurring series of Crypt Keeper-like interstitials.
Our condolences to the actor's friends, family and fans. Are you a fan of Pankhurst's work? Is there a specific role that comes to mind? Let us know in the comments section below.

Gone too soon. R.I.P : (
Condolences to the family!
His excellent performances as The Curator will be missed by fans!
What a shame, rest in peace Tony
Always thought that was Robert Patrick (T-1000).
Sorry to hear however RIP
RIP. He was the face of the curator, yes but not the voice. That was Pip Torrens. I guess Pip also provided the performance too, via facial mocap to go along with the dialogue.
Very sad news.
@tameshiyaku same but i checked it after first time playing
What the?? It wasn't Robert Patrick??
I'm a fan of the series and he was really good as the Curator. Wondering if he had shot scenes for the first game of season 2, if there's gonna be one, still looking forward for Directive 8020.
NOOOO!!! I liked him in the excellent The Dark Pictures Anthology games.
Very sad news rest in peace š¢
67 is nothing these days. Handsome guy. Be at peace.
@simonandrewwil Iām assuming they will still be able to use his character because of that. Just like Aloy has a face model who gave her likeness but is voiced and mo-capped by a different performer. Very sad that he has passed but The Curator will live on in future games and keep his memory alive.
