Got mine from PS Store, looking forward to it. Another great controller to add to the collection.

It's a nice looking controller but if I bought one it would just sit on the shelf next to my God of War and 6 other Dualsense controllers I don't use because the Dualsense Edge is my go to for PS5.

If it were a Dualsense Edge, I'd buy one no questions asked, but since it's a standard controller. I'll have to pass...

@GLightning98 Yeah, I've been on to their customer service. You having the same "Please select a delivery time that suits you" but it's not actually displaying any delivery options issue that isn't letting you progress through the checkout?

The customer service person says he has raised it and just to wait. Might get bored and pay the extra £10 to nab one elsewhere at this rate.

It does look cool, but do I need a third controller? Hard to say.

@StrickenBiged Currys was showing it as available to order before 10am, but then said something like "can't complete order due to high demand, try again later"
Then got the same "please select a delivery time" that you did, so quickly decided an extra £10 was a price worth paying to order from a website that works 😂

@TedLassoNikes Yep, bought it from Sony directly instead. My guess is Currys sold out.

The eyes on the touchpad means that it has a mind of its own, and now will stick drift at will

@DTfearTheBEARD A legit question from me: how was your experience with the edge controller? I mean, do you play competitive online games so it's a must have for you or are there other reasons you find it the best controller? I'm a single player guy, so I need a first hand recommendation

PushSquare mentioned in the announcement post that they're built in to the touch pad, so it looks like they possibly don't light up but won't wear off with use.

@Czar_Khastik It’s a great controller. The custom sticks and back paddles have been great and it has other useful features. The actual controller itself is nice and heavy, which I like, and the presets for different games is super helpful. Lots of people complain about the battery life.. but my couch has usb chargers so that doesn’t affect me.

Got my pre-order in at Smyths. Never used them before. Are they any good ?

@DTfearTheBEARD thats a solid collection you have, if you keep those unopened you are sitting on cash money in 10 years or so. I bought 2 of the PS4 grey PS1 editions, I opened one and kept one sealed. I think in time it will be bonkers in price.

@IamJT Nice review, thanks. Do you actually use any of the presets? And what would they be used for? Like rearranged button scheme or something else?

@Czar_Khastik Yea I currently have presets for Helldivers, Returnal, and RDR2. Mostly just mapping buttons and using the back paddles to make life a little easier in-game. You can switch between them instantaneously and actually setting the presets is easy as well.

@HonestHick You were smarter than me. I also have one 20th anniversary controller but I'm on a lookout for another one so I can hook two of them to my PS1 via 8bitdo adapters. I would buy a new one or a used one in great condition but ebay has a few of new controllers in the UK which is a bit of a hassle due to customs charges

@Czar_Khastik To be honest, I never thought I'd spend $200 on a controller. I don't play competitive games online. The same as you, I mostly play single-player games. It all started when I saw an Xbox Series Elite 2 controller on sale for $130, so I decided to buy it and fell in love with the premium feel and back buttons. Same with the Dualsense Edge.

Now it sucks going back to standard Xbox, Playstation, Switch controllers without back buttons.

The battery life isn't great on the Dualsense Edge, But neither is the standard Dualsense, so it's not too big of a deal.

I'm sure the Dualsense Edge has many other features that I don't use haha, But it works great for the things I do use it for.

Plus my original white Dualsense controllers are starting to drift after almost 4 years. So it's nice that you can replace the thumbstick module on the Edge if that problem ever occurs...

@Czar_Khastik I am not the person you are replying to, but I also have a dualsense edge. I bought it at launch and it is my daily driver. I just cannot use any other dualsense due to the rear paddles, trigger stops and customizable buttons. It is a joy to use. Currently playing RE4 and my rear left paddle is for sprint and the other 1 for melee.
IMO it is worth every penny. It works super well with Returnal and any FPS. All the PlayStation pro gamers use the edge.

Trying to preorder it on PS Direct, but it keeps throwing errors when I try to check out.

@HonestHick Thank you, but unfortunately the only special edition Dualsense controller I have is the God of War Ragnarok. All the other controllers are just standard White (2), black, purple, red, pink, & Dualsense Edge.

Lucky you. I really wanted that gray PS4 controller.

I did pick up the 20th anniversary Xbox, Gears 5, and Starfield controllers. Plus the Starfield headset.

@DTfearTheBEARD just a heads up it’s super easy to replace the sticks on the regular dualsense as well. I bought sticks on Amazon for like ten bucks popped open the controller no more stick drift.

Cant even preorder, direct not working and GameStop wants to uto sign up from Pro to even preorder.

This was an unmitigated disaster on the US side. I thought PS Direct was improving at handling traffic for highly sought-after pre-orders, but NOPE. And GameStop can burn in hell for allowing only Pro members to pre-order.

EDIT: I FINALLY managed to snag one from Target of all places.

I will admit I bought astro dualsense from playstation direct as I was sat on there from 9.50 hitting refresh and didn't realise other stockists were selling it or I would have bought from Smyths too.

No interest in this whatsoever. Went with an all Midnight Black colourway (faceplates and two Dualsense) a few years ago and this wouldn't fit with it. Don't think I've ever bought a novelty/limited edition controller for any system ever, now I think about it.

Shout out to Target’s online store! I was able to order my launch PS5 from them, Amiibo preorders, and now this controller. They always come through!

@Americansamurai1 Yeah, I bought it there about 30 seconds after the GS order went through and I saw the BS they pulled.. I quickly refunded the GameStop order, but they kept my $20 for their Pro membershit. Now I have to fight them on that. Maybe if they treated their customers with a fraction of respect they might have more people buy from them.. probably not, but they could try.

The sad thing is that I worked for that company (Babbage's turned into GameStop in the early 00s) for nearly a decade. I managed three stores in upstate NY. I even helped their corporate office with designing advertising art for several system launches (Saturn, PS, N64, DC, to name a few). They used to be a decent company to work for, and to shop at, but they became ultra greedy after going from Neo*Star ownership, to Barnes & Nobles, It's as if they knew Amazon was going to kill their book stores, so they doubled down on video game greed. Oh well, they won't likely be around much longer anyhow. That stock nonsense won't likely repeat itself next time they are in need.

@Mazey Most likely not. I don't remember the Spider-Man 2 controller being available after release.

Sony has the worst web experience of any game store, and it ain't even close. Horrible, always has been and I just guess they must like it that way.

Pre ordered mine from GAME.Was a bit of a pain as i kept getting kicked out of the basket section but went eventually 👍

After spending $107 at gamestop (wieners), but only because the PS site went down. An hour later I decided to see if maybe the site was working again, and it stuck my butt into the queue. Thought to myself, no way.. Yes way! and then purchased it on the PS Site in my driveway lol I'm so excited. I guess I will just keep the one in a box sealed for who knows how long.

The problem is that the price is 240€ so I'll wait for a discount and then snag it. Oh and of course, nobody will be allowed to play with it except for me. @Czar_Khastik man it was HARD not to open it. Not going to lie. Haha, it’s my favorite PS design. I loved the design of PS1 and the colors. Maybe nostalgia is playing a bit of a factor. But i liked it when it came out and never stopped. PS2 was mostly good looking to, i disliked the PS3 look and the Spider-man logo. PS4 looked a little cheap and lazy to me for what Sony can produce and the 5 is ok but a little big and loud in my setup. So PS1 is still my favorite. Good luck finding one of those controllers, they are out there.

@DTfearTheBEARD i only have 1 white and black standard and an Edge. On Xbox believe it or not i only have 2 black stocks at the moment, i keep thinking the Elite 3 is around the corner and it sure isn’t. I do have some for Xbox One. Wish i would have kept the 360 stuff. I do have a Wavebird for GameCube, one of my favorite controllers ever.

Got 2 dualsense from Currys, one ordered last Friday then ordered another Monday as I was surprised the second lot weren't immediately sold out!

This one got me in trouble with Ladyface...then she played it for three hours straight, lol.

Absolutely amazing game, but imo the controller is incredibly fugly. It's just all white (ish, and gets dirty easily) with blue accents and two dumb looking circles that are supposed to be his eyes. I have the Hogwarts and Spider-Man 2 controllers, but this one was a huge pass for me.
