Despite being released over a year ago and having already secured just about every award possible, Baldur's Gate 3 continues to win, this time securing an extremely prestigious, much-coveted Hugo Award for Best Game or Interactive Work.
The Hugo Awards have been around since 1953, which convenes the World Science Fiction Convention to determine the very best science fiction and fantasy novels, expanding in more modern times as various mediums take off (thanks, PC Gamer). For example, Best Game or Interactive Work is a new category, which, as luck would have it, was only introduced in 2024, just in time to be completely dominated by Larian Studios.
CEO and founder Swen Vincke seemed especially pleased with this particular achievement. He had previously lamented that winning all these awards had been quite the staffing ordeal.
Are you surprised to see Larian still securing accolades, or do they deserve even more of them? Let us know in the comments section below.

Well deserved! Brilliant game.
Let’s just say I’m not a huge fan of fantasy (prefer sci-fi, cyberpunk) but I’m doing everything I can in act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 to actually not finish the game because I don’t know what I will play afterwards. It’s one of those games, like Witcher 3, RDR2, Mass Effect trilogy etc that leave a gaping hope in your mind and heart after you’ve finished them. Larian deserve all those accolades.
As the Best Game Ever Made Baldur's Gate 3 deserves the Game of the Year award every year until Larian release their next game, which will likely then also win every Game of the Year. Larian are simply the best in the business, and I wish them every success...
N.i.c.e. Baldur's gate 3 is easily one of the best video games ever made.word up son
@Yagami
I keep hearing good things about the Pathfinder games. May give them a go at some point. Cheers
