There is something undeniably comforting about Square Enix's Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, which preserves the first six entries in the legendary series on PS4. You can take further comfort in the upcoming physical Anniversary Edition; tangible copies were quite limited initially and are getting a reprint, ensuring that even if the internet goes down and the world as we know it ends, you'll still be able to escape to another full of JRPG goodness.
This solid offering costs USD 74.99 (or your local equivalent) and is available to preorder via Square Enix and select retailers. Releasing 8th October, orders are limited to two per customer, so don't even think about trying to hoard them.
In a predictable series of events, Square Enix's slightly touched-up classics, made available on modern platforms at reasonable prices, sold appreciably, so much so it will explore reviving other retro titles from its back catalogue in a similar fashion.

Wake me up when they've done a Final Fantasy pixel remaster II, feat. Mystic Quest, Tactics, Tactics Advance, Tactics A2, XII Revenant Wings, and IV:The after years(with Interlude)
Scalpers gonna snatch it all up again?
Well i snagged a physical. I would love to see some old Dragon quest return as well
F yes! Thanks for reporting about this, @Khayl. I secured my copy, didn't get one the first time around. I wonder how many they will reprint.
I'm not buying this until they fix that jittery movement. I don't even understand how that made it past QA.
@dschons I also bought it and the shipping cost from the European store is 20€ for a single game. So apparently Nobuo Uematsu will deliver this personally while playing the victory fanfare
When do we get the Vagrant Story remake / remaster because thats the classic I really want
Has anyone found this up for order in the UK yet?

@Vivisapprentice
I think the Tactics would benefit more from being HD-2D remakes to be honest, same with Chrono Trigger.
If the rumours turn out to be true about the FF tactics remaster I’ll be be happy but which version would they remaster of it though I wonder.
Great news, I missed out and the first run so hopefully will get in on this one!
@Czar_Khastik It was ten for me, so I'd expect him to deliver it half way at least. Or he'll leave out the fanfare.
@L_Bosch probably so they can sell yet another version in the future with that issue fixed (and a new flaw introduced to keep the cycle going...)
Just preodered it.
@Veritas7Ax I found copies in local Dutch stores for sale so just look and you will find a copy.
$75 for this is a bit of a stretch I think. I'll wait for a sale.
Pre-ordered my copy on Best Buy in Canada. Not missing this again.
Just bought the digital copy on PSN, as it was on sale haha. Of course this gets announced now...
for $100CAD.. heck no. can't even change the ugly arial font on the ps4 version. this really should be priced at no more than $50CAD. s-e is abusing people with FOMO tactics here and it is very sad to see.
@Porco My feeling as well
Personally I would rather see an update, or a reasonably priced (wishful thinking about SE) DLC that would add all the DS and/or other extras that previous releases had. For as stupidly priced as this is, I believe we should get the extras as an update.
I get that it's 6 games. But $75. Yeesh.
This is hilarious. The first print run they shadow dropped at like 2 am, which sold out in all of 2 hours in the US, was selling at 800 DOLLARS a copy, USED within a week of release.
I feel bad for whoever paid that price, almost. I've been following this game on eBay and copies routinely go for $750+ a copy in bidding. A new copy sold yesterday for $1000.00. Welp, I guess the party is over for the scalpers.
Very welcome news! Thank you Square.
EDIT: Checked reseller sites. New copies all over the place selling for $200-300. Bout a thousand dollar drop in 12 hours. I love it when scalpers lose.
@Vivisapprentice
Wow, I would pay a dirty amount of money for that. Square, hire this person.
@RagnarLothbrok I've got some good news for you.
Bought this immediately. I'm so glad I never shelled out for the digital copy, which was more expensive than this even when discounted. I was mortified to miss the first drop. Really looking forward to playing these classics for the first time. I'm
