Bombastic arcade racing series FlatOut hasn't had a new entry since 2017's Total Insanity, but now it's coming back — albeit in a very different way. Simply titled FlatOut, development has begun on a new game in the series for virtual reality devices, including PSVR2.
Unfortunately, there aren't too many details, but we do have an early gameplay trailer, embedded above. Strategy First is partnering with Flat2VR Studios for this new game, which seems to be a full-blown entry based on the footage we can see in the video. The series is known for its chaotic, high-speed, full-contact racing action, and that's certainly what we're seeing here.
There's no hint of a release date for this one, so it may be a ways off. Still, it's pretty exciting to see FlatOut return, albeit in a new form. What do you make of this announcement? Are you glad to see this FlatOut VR title? Let us know in the comments section below.

This looks fun….vomit inducing but fun.
At this pace, Flat2VR Studios will announce PSVR2 ports of Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Half Life: Alyx later this day.
@WhiteRabbit 😂 LOL….now including Infrared Vom Sensors™️ which notify you when it’s nearly full.
Oh wow I did not see that one coming I’m down!
Awesome, bring it on!
Oh yes baby! I remember playing this on psp and was so cool.
This series really doesn't strike me as one that needed a VR conversion. Just too wild.
Also, this trailer for a VR game is all clearly traditional, flat vision. Strange announcement.
Instabuy for me. We need more racers. Would love it if EA let Flat2VR get the VR modes of their games running on other platforms.
Really looking forward to this one. Be nice to have a less serious/ fun alternative to GT7.
This is the one to test your VR legs. I can handle GT7 just fine until I spin.
@Art_Vandelay GT in VR is just next level ain’t it. I won’t be trying to compare it to that quality wise but as long as it’s fun and runs properly that’s all I’m after with this. Be nice to see some actual vr though
@Mikey856 GT7 VR on a racing rig is my childhood's dream come true.
