It sounds like it’s going to take you dozens upon dozens of hours to complete Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5, as the game will have many secrets to discover beyond the beaten path. While it sounds like it’ll be possible to mainline the title if you prefer, filling Indy’s notebook may require you to return to previous locations, as you’ll be given ample opportunity to explore.
“It’s a mix between more linear sections and more open-ended, big areas,” MachineGames’ Jens Andersson told IGN in an interview. “In those big areas, you can choose what missions to tackle and there are multiple ways to do that. We have a lot of different options in terms of stealth, hand-to-hand combat, and even gun combat. We tried to give the player agency to determine: what would Indy do here?”

While your approach to each mission will offer ample variety alone, Andersson believes the replayability will come from the sheer scale of the game itself.
“For this game, because it’s so open-ended, we’re thinking about replayability a little bit differently to the Wolfenstein titles,” he said. “We actually allow you to go back and revisit previous areas so you can really explore all of the content there is there and to 100 per cent the game. We have a journal which is a key tool in this title. It starts blank and you gradually fill it out. The idea is that once it’s completely full, that’s when you’ve seen everything the game has to offer.”
As our gaming tastes have matured, we’ve come to appreciate titles that aren’t necessarily open world but have huge sandboxes to explore. It sounds like that’s exactly what Indiana Jones will offer, and it’s certainly increased our interest in the game. Remember, this title is coming to PS5 next year, in Spring 2025, so you won’t have to wait too long to play it.

I might rent it… y’know just to properly get in the mood.
Sounds like the recent Tomb Raider trilogy. If it is then I'm sold!
Calling it 'Indiana Jones PS5' is just delicious
Gets more interesting for sure with more details coming out.
I like the sound of this as I don’t have time for massive open world Ubisoft type maps.
Would much rather quality over quantity.
I’m genuinely excited for this. I was kinda over the moon to see it’s an FPS, as that felt like a unique unexpected choice, rather than the expected uncharted-like third person action shooter (which I would’ve also welcomed with open arms, so I’m winning either way).
@colonelkilgore if this is anything like Lara Croft, I suspect it’ll be sales fodder (nothing wrong with it, I respect the tomb raider games for goin on sale as much as they do)
Looks perfect for PSVR2. I hope that's in its future.
Sounds good. A typical Tomb Raider setup, but I think it would be better in a third-person perspective; I'm not really a fan of first-person shooters. However, if it gets good reviews, I'll buy it anyway.
Shall test it on game pass on Series S and if it’s as good as I hope it is, I’ll buy it on PS5 for the better visuals
I don't know why but this game leaves me the impression of a second Starfield: in that it looks epic and promises a ton, but will end up disappointing players in various ways.
I have game pass U for a while longer, so I'll give it a go on PC either way.... I can only hope they prove me wrong and deliver.
Super excited for this!
I personally would rather just raid tombsvand solve cool puzzles
@Yousef- Zenimax games always go on sale fast. Even the four MS games go on sale often (Sea of Thieves is the only one I haven't noticed on sale)
I wish games would just be linear again. All these big maps have me fatigued.
@Shinnok789 You're not alone, I think a lot of folks are viewing everything that's been brewing under MS and Bethesda with concern.
I mean this is Machine Games, so maybe????
@whatkindofsick eh?
I like what i'm seeing here!!
