August's PS Plus Essential games are available to download now, and subscribers are in for a nostalgic treat when they check their email inboxes. You may recall that PlayStation used to send out individual email receipts for every single PS Plus title that you added to your library from the PS Store. Well, thankfully, the company stopped doing this last year, and all was right with the world.
But as pointed out by PlayStation LifeStyle — and verified by ourselves — the dreaded PS Plus email spam is back. Once again, we're being sent email receipts for each game, which can give you one hell of a shock. After all, nothing screams "oh my god, I've been hacked!" quite like seeing three different emails that are all titled "Thank You For Your Purchase".
Of course, this has to go down as an undeniable first-world problem, but come on Sony, why are you subjecting us to this all over again? It could just be some kind of bug, or maybe the emails shouldn't have stopped in the first place. Who knows!
Are you delighted to be on the receiving end of these emails again? Take a deep breath before opening your inbox in the comments section below.

Haha😀 thanks for reminding me.i didnt check until you mentioned it.yep its back.i seen it.thats weird.i guess PlayStation is happy and cant help themselves to send it to me email🤔.word up son
Todd Howard designed PS Plus confirmed!
In other news, investors will be happy that PS Store sales have increased 4000% since last month according to internal recorded sale completion data.
It never stopped for me , had them since 2013 😅
They actually returned a while ago for myself. It's definitely unsettling at times though! It's crazy they can't figure out a way not to send anything if it's free. Maybe one day!
I have over 19 thousand emails waiting to be opened... I don't mind 😅🤣🤣
They're just being polite. It's good manners to say thank you.
It's weird anybody cares about this.
I've got nearly a quarter million unread emails in my "Promotions" folder in gmail (234,689), and 48,145 unread emails in my "Updates" folder where these announcements go. Who cares? I see the subject, nod my head, and forget about it until I see an article like this.
I don't mind it that much if it happens right after claming a game but I got a "Thank you for your purchase" email seemingly out of nowhere last week, haven't used the store at all...
Turns out it was because I won a PlayStation Tournament and the reward was an exclusive PSN Avatar...
These are spam? You're kidding, I've been emailing every single one back with a considered 3,000 word review of each game.
@RawnDawn 19,002 emails on the wall, 19,002 emails!
@Voltan congratulations on winning the tournament!
I'm quite certain they already started again for me a while ago. But I'm sure it was just one email after I add the games rather that two or three if I decide to add them all each month. However I always delete the emails anyway lol.
They never stopped for me, I've always had them. I didn't realise they had stopped!
Fake news. As others have said, they never stopped.
@Almost_Ghostly
They have definitely stopped for me (or at least they had, I haven't added this month's free games to my library yet so not in a position to confirm if they've started again)
In the last year or so the only time I've had a "thank you for your purchase email" was when I've actually bought something.... ie money changing hands......
Haven't had an email for claiming a free PS plus game in a long long time so definitely not fake news
Why is this an issue though?
Like, just delete the email or move it to a folder or whatever. Why do people cry about everything.
@Member_the_game I can definitely confirm both that they removed the confirmation emails from PS Plus games at some point and that they are back this month
Still, it's not a big deal to me
@BeerIsAwesome @NEStalgia You'll now be in my mail forever kept there waiting to be opened hehehe 🤣
@Member_the_game Okay. Fake news for some of us but not others.
@Almost_Ghostly
I guess I was one of the lucky ones 🤪
@Member_the_game Not anymore. Haha. Unless you didn't start getting them. I just got 20 emails for "buying" 20 free items from PSN. lol. It's terrible.
@Almost_Ghostly
Thank you for reminding me I still need to claim the free games 🤣
Obviously I'm still unsure if I'll get bombarded with emails just yet but I'll find out later
