Tarsier Studios, the originators of Bandai Namco's beloved Little Nightmares series, has announced its next game, and it looks to be building on that formula with another unsettling journey. Called Reanimal, this is a dark horror adventure game centred around an island filled with gnarly, twisted animals.
Fully playable solo or in two-player co-op (local or online), Reanimal is about a brother and sister trapped in a nightmarish version of their home island. Their goal is to rescue their missing friends survive the monstrous creatures, and uncover the secrets of what's going on.
The island is explorable by land and by sea, allowing you to get around by boat as well as on-foot. While it sounds like the game will be broadly linear, the developer says there are plenty of detours and side areas to discover. Tarsier Studios also says there's an emphasis on tension and atmosphere in Reanimal, which adopts a darker, grittier tone than its previous titles.
The game is coming to PS5, though there's no release date beyond "coming soon". Whenever it arrives, though, it looks like fans of these short but punchy horror games may be in for a treat. What do you make of Reanimal? Tell us in the comments section below.

Yes, Please. This looks good an erie in the best way
Well I’ll be getting this!
Really enjoy these kinds of games especially when playing with an SO. Makes for a fun spooky night.
It will be nice but in several of the cases shown in this teaser are almost same as sections from LN 2. I hope this is not a milking project.
Best in show for me. Stunning art direction
Could have easily been fooled it was another Little Nightmares game, but it looks amazing regardless. Those games are gold, so I'm very hyped for this.
Looks great. But I’m confused as to why this isn’t Little Nightmares 3. It certainly looks the part.
This looks good, and creepy, can't wait 😃
This actually looks better than Little Nightmares 3.
@bestuardo The dev team got acquired by Embracer and the IP was left to Bandai Namco, who are still putting out Little Nightmares 3, just by a different studio (Supermassive Games). I already knew that and was still briefly confused when this was shown last night, before the title was revealed.
I’m guessing they just really wanted to make a new game in similar style (or, this being pure speculation, they were in the middle of developing LN3 before being bought and had to redress it).
There’s still not too many of these kind of games out there, so I’ll happily play another, if it’s any good.
Definitely playing this at some point.
