Update #2: As we've been monitoring throughout the day, Amazon is now also sold out of the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim disc drive accessory, so if you had been planning to get one of these we strongly suggest you snap up any of the remaining stock available from PS Direct as soon as possible.
Update #1: While there is still plentiful availability of PS5’s detachable disc drive accessory, which can be affixed to either a PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim, supplies are gradually beginning to dwindle. The item is sold out at Best Buy in USA, and various other reports are coming in from around the world, where stock of the optional extra is beginning to evaporate. If you are planning to get a PS5 Pro and you do want a disc drive, we’d recommend snapping one of these up fast because who knows how long it’ll take for Sony to replenish stock?
Original Article: There’s been a sudden increase in sales of Sony’s optional PS5 disc drive, which can be fitted to both the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro. This week, the Japanese giant announced that it’d release its supercharged system for $699.99 in USA and £699.99 in the UK. However, the console will not include a Blu-ray slot, which will need to be purchased separately.
That’s prompted sales of the drive to rocket on sites like Amazon, where it’s currently the eighth best-selling video game item at the time of reporting, above popular items like the DualSense controller and Meta Quest 3. There’s a concern that the accessory could sell out, although stock still appears to be plentiful at retail and on Sony’s direct-to-consumer portal PS Direct.
Many fans are upset that PlayStation is charging a premium for the PS5 Pro without including a Blu-ray drive as standard. But while we agree the prices are simply too high across the board, we do think the detachable disc drive is an elegant solution to the changing landscape of physical media, giving consumers the option of whether they’d like to use one or not.

They're all out of stock here in Poland.
I suspect it's the retailers taking them offline so they can bundle them with the console in 2 weeks...
The price in Croatia (EU) is 139€ (no joke). Is it that expensive all over Europe as well?
@Czar_Khastik that’s about £17 more than we pay here in the UK
Does this not at least show, despite the (rightly warranted) outrage at the price of the Pro, it’s gonna sell regardless.
As long as they remain widely available, I don't have a problem with it being separate tbh
Not that I'm able to splash out on the Pro anyway but still 😂
@DonJorginho Thanks for the info. That's great, since wages here are lower than in most other EU countries as well as UK
Called it yesterday in another push square article about the disc drive add ons selling out after this announcement. Sony doesn't seem to keep a lot of certain items on hand. The Dualsense Edge stick modules have been sold out for months and have been targeted by scalpers.
Ever since the PS5 scalping bonanza I was always wondering, do these guys like get together and coordinate their schemes together? Turns out that yeah, there are forums all these scumbags hang out and discuss what the next thing they are gonna scalp / sell shopping bots to each other. Disc drive add on seems like a prime target right now.
@Angelus3K Yeah there's definitely a market.
The Push Square poll on YouTube currently shows that 17% will buy it, and another 19% will buy it but not at launch.
If that's a reflection of the core market then this thing will do what Sony want it to do.
“We’ve omitted the disc drive to keep the price of the ps5 pro competitive” - Sony
Reality is, a digital only console gives Sony a 100% revenue stream on all software. The $99 disc drive has a sizeable mark-up. If they were to include it at cost I’m sure it wouldn’t push the cost of the machine up by anything close to $99. By not providing a disc tray they’re setting themselves up for greater revenue and eliminating software resale. They’re also taxing anyone who wants to buy the disc tray by virtue of a significant mark-up. Not really a pro consumer move.
In my honest opinion, a premium price for minor upgrades and a second purchase of a disc drive....I could easily enough, but no thank you!! Do the right thing for your consumers, Sony, and release a Pro that will take care of the entire Generation. Releasing 2 systems a Generation just shows you failed the first time by not creating the best you possibly could have from the beginning. We older gamers survived with a single console for years
For goodness sake, why do you insist on making the links to US sites instead of UK? I clicked on the Amazon link and its useless to me.
@Neither_scene
There's nothing about the PS5 pro that is pro consumer. They've been slowly going towards the digital only direction for a while now. They'll use all kinds of excuses like less plastic, better for the environment, cheaper, etc. But in the end it's for the bottom line, period.
Games have been utterly unimpressive. The best looking games are still on PS4. No game on the PS5 has been truly next gen to even warrant the console's existence. Yet they release a Pro version as a goddamn gimmick apparently, cause if it's not for the games, then what is it for?
What a joke of a gen. Sony can stick that inevitable digital only PS6 up their butt and keep it. I'll go back to Nintendo after 5 generations lol
But reality is, history will repeat itself. Sony's flying too close to the sun, just like after the PS2's success. The only difference is that the games saved the PS3. Those were impressive, incredible games that have yet to be topped by PS5 games in terms of everything but graphics.
The PS5 doesn't have that luxury. There's a chance PS6 won't do so well. People are waking up to these atrocious anti-consumer 1984 type BS
I'm hoping some retailers are going to do a bundle at reduced price over buying separately
@Czar_Khastik It's €119 on the direct store in Belgium, really strange that you guys have to pay 20 extra for no clear reason.
So after all the crying the disc drive is currently outselling the Series S and X. Well at least on Amazon US.
Damn if these are being bought up for the PS5 pro, then I'm assuming the PS5 pro will sell well. But if it sells well, then the PS6 could be a lot more than that.
It works out cheaper to build a PC, even if you spend 2k on it. Coz there's no monthly subscriptions you have to pay and it lasts longer. And you can upgrade anytime.
@McTwist nothing any of these companies do is pro consumer
@Ainu20 Thanks, it seems the stores are adding their profit margin into the recommended price
This must be the first evidence of PS5 Pro failing spectacularly as many here have predicted yesterday.
@Angelus3K
The outrage isn't rightly warranted. The device isn't for everyone and that's fine, but $700 for what it offers is perfectly reasonable. It will have comparable performance to a PC at half the cost.
@Czar_Khastik
110-119€ here in Germany. Good thing i got mine yesterday, lol.
@riceNpea I totally agree, this site is US centric first, even though its UK based.
@TheTony316 Thanks, that's the price point I thought it was here, but of course not. Can't wait to see what the price for the PS5 Pro console will be
@Czar_Khastik I thought you meant the direct store, but after checking a couple of the biggest external eshops here, they're all at €139 as well. That's actually pretty surprising as these are usually cheaper than other direct stores (Samsung, Sennheiser et al), but in this case clearly not.
I'm thinking I should split up my "PS5 Pro article count" into BoF and AoF, "before official announcement" and "after official announcement". I think it's possible in only 23 hours Push Square has had as many articles about the Pro as the 6 months of leaks and rumours leading up to it. 😂
I don't know if Sony needs to make more disc drives but I think this certainly shows they need to make more games for Push Square to write articles about. 😩
Anyone buying this now instead of waiting for a Price drop is weak and has no common sense whatsoever. Companies are laughing all the way to the bank with weaklings like this.
Imagine complaining about anti-consumer practices and overpriced hardware and then saying you're switching to Nintendo
Aaand they said the pro will not sell. Ohhhh, it will go like a warm bread. Just watch.
@Ainu20 That's interesting and surprising indeed. There is no direct store here, so all we have left are classic retailers. Well then, if I'm going to buy the console I might as well write it off as a necessity for my work so I can write off VAT. Chess, not checkers
Thing we will not know is how many are being bought by scalpers. I presume Sony has a rough idea of how many PS5 pro they are going to sell this year wonder if they have enough disc drives to cover that.
@The_Wailing_Doom Nowhere near the same level of performance to a PC. Stop kidding yourself.
CutchuSlow wrote:
Not really. PS5 pro is a premium offering that will have a niche audience, maybe around 10%-15% of the total PS5 market. Most people will NOT pay that amount either for a PS5 Pro or PS6. Sony HAVE to keep a more cost effective offering or their whole business model will fall apart.
£99.85 at shopto.

Glad I've moved to pc now. Ps5 is there but less and less used. A PS5 and then a pro would be the cost of a decent rig.
there was already an elegant solution for people who want to play digital only. Just do that and don't use the disc drive that's part of the console.
As @Neither_scene said, this is very much about forcing people to use the PS store that sells games at inflated prices and gives a price monopoly.
Removed - offensive remarks
@The_Wailing_Doom I mean I’m getting it day one but £700 without a disc drive is insane.
@themightyant Sad that so many don't realize this. Pro is a high-end/enthusiast offering and it costs more because Sony isn't expecting it to sell as much as the base. PS6 will be a mass-market console and will be priced accordingly.
@StylesT No reason to call them mongs. If they want the product and they're happy to pay for it, then I wish them all the best with their purchase. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, it's just not particularly accessible for the average consumer.
@RubyCarbuncle
You're going to have to elaborate on that (incorrect) position because these consoles effectively are packaged PCs, so perform EXACTLY like a customized PC. That's why a $700 console can perform like a PC that costs much more.
I'm confident my PC will still outperform the PS5 Pro, but my PC also cost 3X the price of the PS5 Pro when I built it. For context, my GPU (Asus TUF Radeon 6900XT OC is $899 right now on sale from the list price of $1,200) at Amazon. It's way stronger than the GPU in the PS5 Pro, but is itself not able to play games without a CPU, storage, RAM, etc.
@StylesT To be fair, no one is stopping you doing any of those things you're already doing. If you're enjoying playing your PS5 games on your PS Portal, then the PS5 Pro changes absolutely nothing for you.
@ButterySmooth30FPS my thoughts exactly. It's the reason I stopped buying Nintendo consoles in the first place.
As always, people on the internet scream and cry but in the real world, people are enthusiastic because they've asked for a pro and got one.
Big proponent of physical media here. When are we going to stop the alarmist rhetoric and collectively realize that this approach not only saves us money in the long run but also gives security to the growing niche market we support? I’m all for this approach.
@Jimmer-jammer agreed, Sony's approach to modular disc drives is incredibly intelligent. No one else is offering the chance to modify your console at a later date. If you buy the xsx discless that's coming up, and you suddenly want discs, you've got to buy a whole new console and a 1tb stick to make up the difference
Gonna buy myself one next week so its ready for November
If you're in the UK, you can get one on EE for £88.18 - it's on at £97.99, but they have a 10% discount code (on the website) for some gaming items at the moment. I just ordered one at this price because, yes, I will definitely be getting a Pro
@McTwist You do know that the base PS5 is still available? Like the PS4 PRO, the PS5 PRO is optional. Plenty of users still enjoy the base PS4 across the world. Forcing consumers to go all digital stuck behind connected digital subscriptions is a better use of the world anti-consumer IMO. Not complaining about a highly priced version of a console that is launching for those that want it. The PS5 will continue to do well. Especially once more Sony games come out. In life there are those that can get better things than us. So what. I don't complain when I buy a car if I cannot buy the best trim for a respective model.
@Pranwell Enjoy paying through your nose for the all future ps products then...bless you
@get2sammyb Just sets a precedent for future prices
So what we are saying is. Although people are whining, there is a market after all and Sony may have known what they were doing?
Got it.
I got to confess : the idea crossed my mind as well.
But I don't intend to buy that god damn 800€ console ! No, I don't !
(But I thought about getting the drive now, to not add it in two months to that extraordinary bill...)
(But I didn't, cause I won't buy it, no I won't !)
@themightyant stop talking sense man!
can only be scalpers who haven't understood that the most hated console is DOA.
Who could possibly want a few more pixels and frames ? If that was the case expensive gaming PCs would be a thing ....
@riceNpea It is frustrating but even more so is the Amazon link on every article which doesn't take you to the game because there is no physical release, really strange! I can only assume (as is normal these days) that if you go there via this link and buy anything at all PS get a percentage!
@Jrs1 It's compounded by the fact sometimes they spell in American English 😔
I saw on Smyths that the disc drive is out of stock but that there's no new stock incoming "Out of Stock. Expected in stock: No Longer Available" so it looks like Sony are discontinuing the current disc drive.
@StylesT It only sets a precedent if there's mass adoption, which there won't be and Sony also didn't target that.
@Mostik agreed. Ultimately when you get a run of articles where one or two would do they are spurrious, just there to funnel us towards that end.
Well this is embarrassing. No doubt most of those sales aren't people who are buying a Pro. Either retailers or scalpers looking to manipulate prices.
Read between the lines people, it's the scalpers buying them all up.
Then they'll be listing them for 300 upwards by end of year.
And yes, people will pay that.
Question is, are these actually prospective Pro buyers, or just scalpers?
@ButterySmooth30FPS funny right? 😂like nintendo is the saint one in the gaming industry.
astro bot is a nice distraction from the negativity but if they don't get their ***** straight this is the last ps console I buy
Hmm, is it time to become a disc drive scalper? 😂
In all seriousness, c'mon Sony why couldn't you just have thrown the disc drive in. Ugh.
I smell scalpers are making stockpiles...
@Czar_Khastik it’s possible you’re getting it from a grey-market or external store (aka a store that’s not stocked directly by Sony). Things are like that in Kuwait. Everything is a smudge more expensive. Kuwait is obviously west Asian and not EU, but it’s still PAL if I’m not wrong.
So we’re PALs.
@Pranwell the disc is detachable, if they give it to you at cost you can sell it at cost or make a profit. Also, if they give it at cost I imagine it would add maybe $40 to the cost of the machine rather than the $99 it would cost to buy separately.
Or, more simply, like the slim, add a disc edition at cost, for roughly $40 more.
Sony shouldn’t be profiteering off of people with physical editions just because they operate a closed system online.
I'm going to bet that post PS5 Pro release, disc drives and PS5 Pro with disc drive bundles start appearing on eBay with huge mark-ups.
sony strategy seems to be working now people who were on the fence and did not buy a ps5 will buy the current ps5..
It's a good thing I got one yesterday for the PS5 Pro.
This is absolutely true in UK.
I have just checked my regular stores I use and they selling like crazy and some are totally out of stock.
Like hundreds selling in the last 24 hours.
And we think the PS5 Pro, won’t sell.
I really can’t believe it, but it’s true.
@Vaako007
You're right. Zip it. Let these corpos run amok, be consoomers, don't complain to the overlords.
Yes. It's all optional. Concord was an optional game. No need to complain about it. They threw their main PS5 game Factions 2 off a cliff and kept financing this atrocity.
PSVR2 is optional. Don't complain about not getting games for it.
PS VITA was optional. Why complain to the overlords. You bought it at a high price. You got shafted. So what? It was optional.
It's all freaking optional. You do know that right?
@BiosNova
I beg to differ. Of course you're right, but during the PS1,2,3 era they did their best to bring out stellar games to convince consumers to buy their console and keep buying their games.
Now they don't even do that anymore. They expect people to just buy everything, because they're a household name by now.
Well looks like Sony's strategy is working (if that's what they intended). They get to sell out the attachment while drumming up interest in the Pro and the regular PS5, yes they get some negative online reactions but they know internet outage doesn't last long
Am I the only one to notice that the fact that the Pro uses the same disc drive as the Slim indicates that they both use the same console covers, despite the blog post suggesting otherwise? This also tells us that both models have the same depth measurement.
@Shepherd_Tallon exactly. If 80% of users said they’d buy it, they would have got their marketing wrong for a Pro product.
The modular approach is an absolutely fantastic piece of design. The only people buying this right now though will be scalpers.
You always need to consider resellers / scalpers in this equation. Look on ebay in a couple weeks and see how many PS5 drives are for sale.
@xDD90x IIRC the presentation said the Pro is the same width as the slim but is as tall as the base PS5.
I doubt retailers stocked many of the disc drives because the market for it was so so small.
Not really prospective buyers though is it, most likely 90% dirty scalpers.
@ButterySmooth30FPS Yes, that was from the blog post, but the next sentence is "Players can add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, or swap out console covers when they become available". The last 4 words suggest that it uses different covers, but the disc drive compatibility suggests otherwise. It looks like the designers compensated for the height differential with the thick band of black in between the side covers compared to the Slim model's thin strip. So the covers should be identical.
Yeess, and ps5 pro will not sell. Noooo.
I’ve got mine ordered.
I plan to preorder the Pro day 1.
Then a week before it releases I’m going to sell my PS5 and maybe my PS4 that’s never used to go towards it.
So, I won’t have to invest much to get it. I’m good to go.
@MrMagic
Please say you're feigning naivety about scalpers being the probable main reason for the sold out drives so you can have a playground like pop at Xbox...
@Yousef- So we're not only Concordians, we're also PALs! At least some good news after seeing these insane prices
@WiccanMagick75 I’ve said the same thing. Instead of games humming along at 4k/60fps we get high res PS4 remakes, few games that can max out specs, and now a console bump that would leave all PS5 owners in the dark as the new console will likely be the only home for these high res showcases we’ve been promised
And I was nearly convinced it was going to flop due to the price.... 😅
For those who are serious about investing into a PS5 Pro, enjoy.
I’m not one of those people.
F u c k i n g scalpers
@OmegaStriver smart plan, be sure to do the PS5 to PS5 transfer before selling your vanilla version
Ugh, this scalper mania is the other reason consoles have become so frustrating. Every new release, if you want to be "current" you have to fight hordes of scalpers to hit the button first, then wait months or years for under-produced inventory to replenish stock. Another consideration I took into account for my switch back to PC. Everything is just on the shelf, and while GPUs go through the scalping phase, buying a GPU at launch isn't as important as in the console space where you're "missing out" on games running/looking great without it.
@The_Wailing_Doom "That's why a $700 console can perform like a PC that costs much more."
Not with that CPU, it can't.
Your PC cost way more initial investment, but follow the TCO over a 10 year arc and see which really costs more. that's what people comparing price keep missing. Yes, PC can be far higher initial investment, but for an enthusiast gamer you have to look at it like a business, and evaluate the 10-15 year TCO and see which really works out the be the best value.
There's of course ease of use considerations that may make console more desirable for many, but I think a lot of people are looking strictly at cost-benefit, but not calculating cost correctly. You pay triple today, but may end up with a few hundred extra bucks in your wallet in 5-10 years. Putting up with more hassle, yes, but getting an overall better experience with way more options, also, yes.
@ButterySmooth30FPS Trouble is if PS6 isn't significantly better than PS5 Pro, what's the point? And if PS6 is significantly better than PS5 Pro, than buying a Pro is a foolish purchase as it's a marginal optional upgrade while something vastly superior for much less money will arrive in a few years.
I fully expect it's a classic Sony accessory, drop it, sell to enthusiasts, then move on and forget it exists.
@NEStalgia If the PS6 is significantly better then I'll just trade the PS5 Pro in for it like I'll do with my base PS5 for the pro. Or like how I traded my PS4 Pro in for PS5. Instant 50-60% savings.
@NEStalgia with PC people also conveniently forget the hundreds and potentially thousands of £/$ of game libraries built up also.
If people won’t fork out £700-800 for a pro (so a new console every 4years) they sure as sh*t ain’t paying thousands upfront for a good gaming rig
@Ainu20 that is not Sony who is selling for that price. Those are likely 3rd party sellers. They can charge as much as they want.
@NEStalgia look at bigger picture. Why would PS6 push higher GPU power for 4k 60fps? At this point we have reached console limits price/performance. There is no value and market for lets say 4k 120fps PS6, which would cost at best same price as PS5 Pro.
Imagine that 50% of active Playstation User base couple months ago was on PS4 systems. It will be so much harder to move people from PS5 to PS6 in4 years time. All games will come out on PS5 anyways, it will be 4k 30fps console for so long time. You will pick up PS6 if you want 4K 60+FPS, with PSSR 2.0, RT 2.0. That is my prediction.
£700 - £800 for a Pro! What's the point when Sony only launch one First party AAA exclusive a year, especially now we have been told there will still be 30fps PS5 Pro enhanced games.
@Rog-X which Pro enhanced game is still 30fps?
Is it 'players' or badly informed scalpers?
I'm not getting one, so not too worried about it right now.
Probably scalpers, probably start seeing them on Amazon for £300, with a slight edit to the packaging, they'll print a "PS5 Pro Enhanced” label onto it and fool some mugs lol
@The_Wailing_Doom incorrect? definitely not incorrect I speak from experience. I've only been purchasing and now getting my own PCs built since the late 70s but sure tell me I'm wrong. If a PC costs you more you're doing it wrong and lack experience. You wait for the right time to purchase components. A good PC doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg like this ridiculously expensive hobby.
@CrashBandicoat I've got plenty money to burn but why would I waste it on a marginal upgrade? so marginal you'd barely notice the difference at all. I bought the PS4 Pro and I'm not making the same mistake here. It's PC for me from now on. You can get insane discounts on PC games, not so much with Console.
@REALAIS Somewhat true, but that's what current gen promised already and fell short on and even Pro won't fully remedy. If the PS6 is to not represent a new generation and mostly represents another GPU bump and maybe CPU bump that's basically all still PS4, PS5 compatible, they've moved on to the phone/PC upgrade model anyway. Which isn't horrible, but they're obscuring that plan.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Right, vendor lock is what the consoles are banking on, and also why it's a good reason to get out sooner than later if one has any inclination of doing so. And yes, some are hopelessly locked into the ecosystems with that library there already. That's very true.
I get that you need eyes on pages to keep rooves over your heads, but come on, leave the hyperbole out of it, this isn't The Sun!
I just checked Argos and they're readily available for delivery and collection at all actual stores within 50 miles of me. And I know this is the North but it is not actually the back of beyond.
Hopefully nobody buys these things so scalpers are forced to take a big loss.
ps5 pro will sell just like expensive apple products sell..
@WiccanMagick75 I suggest you watch Digital Foundry. Sony and Xbox released a competitive console for the price. They would have done much to bring the cost down and also initially subsidise the cost (loss leader). This console is not subsidised as it’s aimed at probably 10% of their customers. Base PS5 will (like PS4) remain supported for the entire generation. The only difference is they are simply providing a premium option for those willing to pay the price. I likely will buy it but I completely understand those who think it’s not worth it for them. Good thing is no one loses out.
I guess some people are willing to pay $700 for 30 extra frames per second. Yeesh!
As long as the authentication isn't bad I'd say good on these people proving they want disk drives. Will it work on PS5 Pro or is that a 'different disk drive' in branding or authentication/slotting in. Sony could go either way really.
Scalping, bots or people desperate & mindset changed who knows.
Bots or not that were buying the disk drives, many people buying them and there is limited stock because of course there would be they want to make less drives over time and push digital we all know that. Collectors or physical focused are the only small audiences left that care.
Most people go digital because it's easier, they experience what they can and move on like tv shows/music/news/conversations about something, sure some sales are good on digital (when they are) and many physical games can take a fair while to be cheaper but at least you can sell it later then go eh refund, ah can't unless broken ok then.
I've seen many physical media type Youtube videos saying all these things but they also leave out some details as well and those people also are just more open to the idea, get them cheap, maybe want the best version, may have gone oh it's off streaming, some people won't care about that compared to others, I struggle to find copies of The Middle and it's on a streaming service, still haven't watched it yet as family want to but are busy with other shows.
Collectors or physical media enjoyers (myself included) get whichever they can on DVD/Blu-ray they can. Not everyone is willing to do that. Collectors watch things like a hawk, not everyone does that and I don't expect them to either.
They experience what they want to/hear is good and move on. If they care enough or physical is their only option then sure but for most people they don't need to or want to.
Buying many physical with movies/tv shows I get it, anime complete seasons maybe cost more, sure may be worthless later but cheaper but space makes sense if people don't have it and control over their media and less digital removal or less disk wear over time to prevent hmm, or back it up yourself if can.
But either way price in comparison of live action western shows do in parts or value people have towards such games/shows versus streaming services is a big thing physical media youtube videos don't always talk about, so I may go eh yes people can't buy their anime and streaming service/watch it online via means.
Or same for live action shows but they do so for cheap & if people desperate to watch them enough then streaming service watch list or whatever lower bit rates then blu-ray having higher bit rates/stable quality versus device network busyness.
If they are even worth caring about revisiting them at all (not just because many anime in parts then complete season niche shows are what they are of cost then live action western shows/movies are).
Or collectors editions are all that end up on the shelves then blu-ray only copies because that was fun to come to & go eh why not can't be bothered waiting for 1 regular copy to show up. With DVDs a bonus now with Collectors Editions? Than prior both in 1 box ones.
Artbook sure, no OST (only BD disks have OP/ED & part of the regular edition along with interviews, trailers, promos, etc. IF they are on there, it varies per show w) and stickers/artcards.
Artbook & DVDs are the only thing I care about really there, artbooks are great for character info/comic panels/screenshots of places/character sketches/face angles/etc.
The scalping begins...
@johnedwin they hopped right on iFruit's marketing train. Pathetic, but not even surprising.
@Arisen amen
I wonder how much of that is simply scalpers trying to cash-in on a PS5 Pro disc drive demand.
I suspect an element of scalping going on as well.
Prospective buyers or scalpers? I guess we'll find out when the console launches.
(I wonder if scalpers will buy PS5 Pro stock and struggle to move it)
Buy 14 charge extra 50 on top buy ps5 pro with profit. Oh wait no bad maths, lol.
I mean what is the point man, at this point if anything is not taped down it will be ransacked in seconds 😤😤
Has anyone confirmed that the plate finish matches the console. Is it all matte? Looks more matte than gloss to me but I prefer the gloss. Not that you can't get other plates; I recommend Cobalt Blue, they look awesome on the slim model ✨
Most likely just another scalping action in progress.
They'll be back on sale on Ebay when the console launches, for 200-300$ apiece....
I doubt it had anything to do with the PlayStation five pro. They've been sold out for a couple months now or limited stock. It's not like everybody had an advanced notice that the PS five pro would use the detached PS 5 slim Model drive.
I like that people think this is future PS5 Pro owners buying a disc drive 2 months early... And doesn't seem it as scalpers buying them all up knowing there was outrage at its lack of inclusion with the console, and knowing anyone who wants it with a drive will have to pay extra.
They're already starting to show up on eBay with a mark up. Sony just gave scalpers a new tool to tuck over consumers after doing it themselves first. Trying to force digital only collections on people, so Sony decide whether or not you can have your game (they can remove them and then it's tough tits) charge full RRP for them, no competition, want to resell your game? Tough. Want to display them? Not possible.
The consoles price isn't too bad for what you get, but I'd have paid for it with a stand and drive, maybe even 50 more. But I'm not supporting it at this price, because I think it's against their consumers who have built up physical media collections.
