Capcom has officially revealed that physical versions for the PS5 ports of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be released on 6th December 2024. The three titles will then make their way to other territories like the USA a month later in January 2025. Japanese listings currently have the ports priced at 2,960 yen, or around $20.
The three games were originally brought to PS5 across the summer months of 2022, and worked as bog standard PS4 to PS5 upgrades. They included ray tracing, PS5 DualSense controller support, faster load times, and 120 frames-per-second. We reviewed all three ports, which you can check out below:

The Japanese box art is incredible. Shame we don't get it.
Does this mean we'll be getting a VR port of Bio Hazard? hope so.
Hopefully a Pro patch coming soon for 2 and 3
Nice to have that option
If RE7 is going to be PSVR2 compatible that would be awesome.
Would be lovely to get a PS5 Pro support as well along this.
soooooo .... no doubt £34.99 for us in the UK then lol
So do they put everything including the DLC on the disc? Otherwise why bother and waste plastic.
@BloodyBlact @GemDog669 no PSVR2 support. This is just a physical release of the PS5 version that has been available digitally for years. They aren’t adding anything else to the game with this release.
@BloodyBlact
Indeed. The only way I can play RE these days. I’ve been so spoiled with 4 & 8
@AndyKazama Isn't the box art the same in all regions for these new releases? Those are the Australian versions in the picture above. They look the same as the JP boxart on the Bic Camera link.
Nice but as suggested by others, the real game changer would be a PSVR2 update for RE7. I refuse to think we won't see that, the base for the mode is already there for the game itself (PS4 PSVR mode) and others RE games PSVR2 modes (REVillage and RE4R) for gameplay and technical adaptation.
@RainbowGazelle it looks the same, but i can see Europe being different. Tends to happen.
Well, I always did kick myself for not grabbing the Dreamcast and N64 ports of RE2 when I had the chance. I'll grab that one at the very least.
@popey1980 I'm going for £39.99 rip off Britain and all that!
Shame about no VR support but I will no doubt pick these up anyway.
@AndyKazama I hope we're the same. Tend to get the same as Aus.
@GemDog669
The only thing preventing me from getting the PSVR2.
@Medic_alert
Have you tried using the toggle grip hybrid option in the Village settings? I had to use that because I too was dropping the gun all the time.
@RainbowGazelle me too. These boxes are sexy. Better match the £20 JP equivalent price
Finally!
Now, just give me gyro aiming support, and these games will be perfect for PS5.
Remedy recently added it to Alan Wake 2 and it's glorious! C'mon Capcom
Nice been looking for a reason to play Resi 7 again and if psvr2 support is in then I'll be all over this. Parts of that game were absolutely terrifying on flat screen so can only imagine vr 😅
@McTwist
There's always RE4 and Village.
Fingers crossed they come with all the DLC, even if just a voucher, although frankly I expect they will not. Similarly I would love to see PSVR2 support for 7, but that also I cannot see being likely. Regardless, pretty cool that they are doing this at all I suppose.
Great news, buying 2 and 3. Now release a remake of 1 and code Veronica to make the collection complete.
So tell me this... if physical is dead, then why are we seeing older games being released on physical when they weren't at launch? Something just doesn't quite square
Got the platinums for 2 & 3 already but I haven’t played 7 since release. Will definitely pick it up
@ear_wig Pro patch for what? They already run with 60 fps, high resolution and ray tracing.
I don't think Capcom will go back and develope more on these games.
@Nintendo4Sonic Did you play the PS5 updates? They definitely did not run at 60fps with ray tracing, at least in my experience. RE3 in particular was dropping frames like crazy when I tried the update after it was released. Maybe it’s better now, but it was a frustrating experience for me…
@ear_wig I played Resident Evil 3 on the PS5 version and felt like this is the definitive edition, that's the peak of this game performance wise.
These games run with uncapped frame rates. That means they're going to be INCREDIBLE on PS5 PRO!!!!!
You just can’t go wrong for $20 each!! I’ll grab them all at some point!! Hopefully RE4 will follow along!
