Digital Eclipse has announced the release date for its latest interactive video game documentary, Tetris Forever. This compilation of the seminal falling block puzzler is coming to both PS5 and PS4 on 12th November, 2024.
Tetris Forever is the third game in the developer's Gold Master series of documentary-style titles. Alongside playable versions of more than 15 Tetris games, this includes various timelines to explore that also feature behind-the-scenes videos, interviews, and other insightful goodies.
As well as numerous retro Tetris titles (some of which will make their Western debut in this collection), Tetris Time Warp is a brand new version developed for Tetris Forever. Playable with up to four players, it has you playing various different types of Tetris, changing up which version you're playing on the fly.

I always thought I was fairly decent at Tetris..... then I played Tetris 99 and got my arse handed to me on a plate
Love Tetris! Might look into it after I complete Dragon Quest III and LEGO Horizon
@Member_the_game I used to do my share of floor mopping in Tetris 99. Apologies if I ever ruined your day 🤣
@Markatron84
I once got down to the last 4 which I guess is my claim to fame.
Majority of time I'm lucky if I get down to the last 50 lol
Geez, which Tetris game should one play first? What’s the best? Which is worst? I s’pose the answer depends if you’re a fan of old school blocky graphics or 4K blocky graphics.
I’m sure there are different play modes and mini-games worth trying, but in the end it’s still Tetris. And that’s just fine…but 15 versions of the same game? I dunno. I thought it was a neat idea until I bought the Contra Anniversary Collection and started playing Contra…and then Contra…and then Contra…and then… … … CONTRA. Boy oh boy! That excitement waned after about 20 minutes, and I stopped playing after an hour. (There were different Contra games to play in that collection, though, so it had that going for it.)
Long story short on this Tetris compilation, if the price comes down to under $10, ok, I’ll bite! Until then, I’ve got Tetris Effect for PS4 and PSVR, Tetris on PS3, Tetris Ultimate on Vita, and both Nintendo’s Tetris and Tengen’s Tetris on the NES. I think I have a Tetris game on the Dreamcast, too, but even if I do, I’d rather spend my time on that machine with Wetrix+. It’s highly underrated.
Ok, now I’m off to play Columns III on my Sega Genesis…or, wait, should I play Columns on Sega CD since the music is better and the graphics are crisper? But those load times—dang! The horror! The horror! 😋
@jgrangervikings1 This is a Digital Eclipse release. A lot of the enjoyment comes from the documentation and history in their releases.
I'm not great at Tetris, but I love it. I'll support most anything DE releases.
