Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players accused developer Saber Interactive of pulling a Helldivers 2 with last week's patch, which allegedly nerfed the fun out of the game, increasing difficulty across the board. In a surprisingly short turnaround, a new patch will be deployed today, 24th October, which will revert many of the issues players have complained about. Director Dmitry Grigorenko acknowledged this learning experience: "The key takeaway for me, personally, is that I forgot that once the game comes out, it's no longer a dev's game. It's yours first and foremost."
IGN dives into the nitty gritty of the patch notes, but broadly speaking, weapons (particularly Bolters) are getting a buff, and baddies are getting a nerf. The unpopular "tight formation" system added for Lethal difficulty Operations is being removed entirely. Players had noticed that the dodge roll had been shortened; that's been fixed, but it was a bug, not a design decision. To prevent similar situations in the future, Public Test Servers will be introduced in early 2025, giving the hardcore the ability to provide feedback ahead of major patches.
Are you surprised to see Saber respond so quickly? Have you tried out that new Operation? Let us know in the comments section below.

Good on them, I can see what they were trying to do with Lethal difficulty(Even though it limits variation in gameplay), but the nerfs to classes and weapons are not ok in a game that is mainly PVE.
But the comments on here told me review bombing was just whining and didn't accomplish anything.
@Bigmanfan It’s insane how many think making your voice heard is bad manners.
Wow, kudos to the devs! Time and time again they prove theyre the exception of the rules of “modern gaming”.
Really like the test servers, that will definetly prevent something like this in the future.
@Bigmanfan It's a great way to kill off games. Review bombing is disgusting you have forum to achieve the same thing.
How's performance on this these days?
I'd only play in the 60fps mode but heard it's a bit dodgy
@Walrus_Slapper I was actually pretty surprised.
Theres one mission in the campaign where it dips to 40s, otherwise its good.
The new operation is pretty bad, dips to 30s, all the other 6 are flawless.
Id like to think im sensitive to fps, only play 60fps mode, mightve missed some problems due to sheer awesomeness of the game tho haha!
@Flaming_Kaiser So, if I buy a game and it does not meet my standards, I can not review it and note what I do not like? I would be inclined to even change my review with each update, if I cared about a game enough.
@Jayofmaya I don't know do you review bomb a game after a patch that can be changed? Do you reviewbomb COD after a update nerfs a gun you like.
@Flaming_Kaiser If it significantly changes the way the game plays or the difficulty, then yeah, I would note it in my list of cons.
