Update []:
After teasing it earlier in the year, plastic tat manufacturer Youtooz has now officially announced its PlayStation line – and it looks amazing.
Featuring Astro Bot, Ratchet, Sly Cooper, and Kratos, each figurine is colourful, detailed, and posed nicely. The first four figures are will be available to pre-order this week, on 24th November, with the maker asked which characters you’d like to see next.
The figurines will ship between May and April next year, and will cost $29.99 apiece. You can find out more, including pre-order information, through the link.
Please note, though, the manufacturer will only ship the models to Canada, Mexico, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and USA due to “licensing restrictions”.
Original Story: Have you otakus got enough space for a few more PlayStation-themed dust collectors? It looks like Yootooz, the Funko-esque toy company behind licensed collectible tat, is lining up a range of Sony goodies.
A post on the company’s X (or Twitter) account includes the famous PlayStation slogan “live in your world, play in ours”. It shows four silhouettes: Kratos, Sly Cooper, Astro Bot, and Ratchet.
The Sly Cooper model actually leaked earlier in the year:
To be fair, we like the look of Youtooz much more than Funkos, and we reckon these could end up being pretty nice models for ultra-fans. We’d certainly consider grabbing a couple of these.
Presumably this is just the beginning of a collaboration which will extend to many different characters. Personally, we’d like to see some real deep-cuts from the PS1 era: Vib Ribbon and the cast of Motor Toon Grand Prix, for example. Oh, and how about Robbit from Jumping Flash!?
Would you buy PlayStation branded Youtooz? (400 votes)
- Yes, I love the idea of these
- Maybe, depends on the characters and cost
- No, this is just tat I don't need

Astro seems to fit into Yootooz well because of his eyes
Also I don't get why so many people hate Yootoos much? They look way better than Funko pops because they look so cute.
Not that I want to rain on anyone's parade, but these horrible YouTooz and Funko Pop vinyl figures, that take any popular IP they can find and mutilate and molest the characters to fit their products, are just ghastly.
Funko is horrible with those beady-eyes, and half the time you can't even recognize what character they're supposed to be - especially with humans, as the faces are all generic and the bodies comparatively tiny. YouTooz just feels to me like a late arrival to the party who are not subtle at all in ripping off Funko's shtick with differently-styled eyes.
Never heard the word “tat” before. Pulled the old Merriam Webster off the shelf, blew off the dust, and looked it up.
“a small protein produced by a lentivirus (such as HIV) that greatly increases the rate of viral transcription and replication and enhances the susceptibility of T cells to infection
also : the viral gene that codes for the tat protein“
No, I don’t think I’m interested in this.
@Milt They're definitely better than Funkos.
@Balaam_ Tat (noun): tasteless or shoddy clothes, jewellery, or ornaments.
(Admittedly does appear to be another one of those pesky British-only words)
Okay, I may get the Sly and Ratchet figures.
@Milt “looking better than funko pops” isnt exactly something id put in my CV tbh.
I just wish someone would make real toys for kids for PS games. My son really wants an Astro Bot toy and a Ratchet and Clank. I know nothing about this brand, but, man, if there’s an affordable Astro Bot toy, I’d get it for my kids. They both love him. My daughter’s not quite able to play yet, but she loves to watch my son play.
I feel bad for kids nowadays that action figures have sort of dropped off. Nintendo’s got that section of the market cornered. My kids are continuously grateful that my mom never threw my toys away because all their favorite toys were my toys! Lol.
@species Not really. They have better and more appealing eyes than Funko pops.
Y'all complained about Funko pops having soulless eyes but now when another toy company tried to make their own spin on that but with better eyes you still complain about it.
I prefer Nendoroids, but these are nice too...
@get2sammyb Any chance of a PSA when orders for these are up?
@somnambulance Try Astro Bot nendoroid. It will rerelease next year.

@get2sammyb I only knew this because of Ashens
@get2sammyb why would you say that? I am very happy with Funko Pop Diablo almost full set
@Shepherd_Tallon Sure! Not even officially announced yet, but we'll definitely update when they are.
@get2sammyb Thanks! 💖
I have the sly funko so may aswel have this too lol
I'm not familiar with the product
@somnambulance Spin Master just recently started making figures of PS games. They're currently doing human characters (Aloy, Jin, Kratos the ones you'd expect to be made first) but they'll probably do other non-human ones if they sell well. Ratchet, Astro etc.
I’d rather stick with Funko. Much cheaper. Youtooz aren’t bad, I just don’t want to shell out $30 a figure for something that is basically the same thing I can get for $10-$15…
That sly cooper design is ugly as sin, what a disappointment 🥺
The best headline I've seen so far on Push Square.
"Tat"... As an American, I've learned so much British slang from this site.
@KahnArtizt07 You're welcome!
We've very, very different definitions of "looks amazing" 😂 I'd honestly rather set fire to my money than spend it on any of these monstrosities.
But glad to see tat used appropriately. Not enough tat these days.
The astro one is very tempting...
@Milt I do think they look cute. But I'd be much more interested in a cute Kratos with a lil angry face.
A little bit too cute for me but ratchet and sly cooper is so nice. I just hate those eye design
@Golem25 I have friends that collect the Funko stuff. One of them has them all unboxed and I've never once had any problem identifying who a single one of them are supposed to be.
The thing about this stuff that bothers me is they're all the same height. Kratos is supposed to be like 7 feet tall and Astro Bot is 1 foot tall. Yet the figures are generally the same size. Reminds me of growing up when the Star Wars figures were as tall as the Millenium Falcon. lol
Sony really needs to up its merchandise game. The fact they don't have a reliable manufacturing partner pumping out quality figures and toys for their brands has always been a huge gaping hole in their brand strategy, imo.
Where is a decently-priced Marvel Legends-like line of Playstation favorites for new and classic IPs?
@MFTWrecks I find it crazy PlayStation doesn’t have a consistent or ongoing toy line myself. Nintendo and Sega have Jakks Pacific, Halo has more or less Jazwares even though it is incredibly inconsistent lately. Even Square Wnix makes those freaking expensive figures in-house. Yet nothing from PlayStation…
Meanwhile Australia: crickets
"Please note, though, the manufacturer will only ship the models to Canada, Mexico, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and USA due to “licensing restrictions"
No Asia? sigh...i want that Astro Bot and Kratos.
@MFTWrecks They always collab with Good Smile Company who already made high quality Nendoroid & Figma figures for GOW, Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, Horizon, Astro Bot, Ghost of Tsushima, TloU, Jak, Twisted Metal, Journey, and Uncharted. Next year they gonna rerelease Astro Bot Nendoroid for $40-50.
@LavenderShroud Sony doesn't have the expertise to manufacture toys by themself and it would need a lot of investment including making toys division if they gonna do it like SE or Nintendo. That's why they always collab or give the license to 3rd party rather than do it by themself.
Sly and Astro look awesome
Not really a fan of these kinds of figures, odd scale with their large heads & little bodies. Saying that though, it's not like I have a collection of amiibo's either. I have a single 'Pikmin' amiibo' (Olimar), probably my favourite Nintendo series after Zelda and I believe I paid only £6 for it.
@PuppetMaster So not at all what I'm talking about. Right.
@MFTWrecks "The fact they don't have a reliable manufacturing partner pumping out quality figures and toys for their brands"
You're talking about this yes? And i answer they did, one of the partner is Good Smile Company. Here's one of their official PS toys
