Epic Games has revealed it's upgrading the Fortnite subscription service Fortnite Crew to include all the Battle Passes it releases across the main Battle Royale, LEGO, and Music modes. The update takes effect on 1st December 2024, and the price isn't changing: it remains £9.99 / $11.99 per month to be a member.
If you're already subscribed to Fortnite Crew and plan to be one for the foreseeable future, then the only change you'll see is the implementation of all the Battle Passes. However, anyone new to Fortnite Crew or who let their membership lapse and then wants to resubscribe, they'll be considered a new member. They can only claim premium rewards from Battle Passes with an active Fortnite Crew subscription, unless you purchase the individual Battle Pass.
Also, the price of a Battle Pass is going up by 50 V-Bucks to 1,000 V-Bucks. The real-world value of V-Bucks is staying the same, however. Once you've claimed a premium reward from a Battle Pass, you don't need to keep an active Fortnite Crew subscription. Those items remain accessible to you no matter what.
The blog post also confirms the upcoming Fortnite OG mode will have its own Battle Pass, complete with a premium tier to reward extra items. The mode becomes a permanent addition from 6th December 2024. Combined with the recent announcement that your XP gains will now contribute to all three (soon to be four) Battle Passes at once, you could put yourself in a position where you're earning multiple rewards every day while playing the game.
Does this incentivise you to subscribe to Fortnite Crew if you're a player? Let us know in the comments below.

It's a bloody brilliant system these kids be addicted to the unlocking of stuff that constant reward.
This is confusing. So I join Crew, and I can choose which battle passes to unlock, or I get a chance to buy previous battle passes?
@Jill_Sandwich You subscribe to Fortnite Crew and get automatic access to the premium tracks of every future Battle Pass.
That's good for me, I've been a crew member for nearly a year now. Just wish I can spend my V Bucks on the Arcane set they did.
@liamcroft adding to the article. Epic is also doing a monthly remix pass based on each ch1 season starting on december 6th (ChOG s1 is the first) which is also included in crew.
We don’t know the details of these passes (they have been officially announced as of today) yet, the assumption is they’ll all be a 40 tier, 50 levelup, 4 skins pass like OG last year and REMIX atm but we know through leaks they’ll be monthly.
I think the real question is Will the membership upgrade be eligible for Game of the Year?
I have about 750 hours in Fortnite over the past 3 or so years. Paid $8 for a battle pass when I started, have gotten up to around level 130 every season since, unlocking everything in every base battle pass, currently sitting on 3,100 V-bux, have never had a “crew” pass and really don’t see why it would even be necessary.
People can do whatever they want with their own money but I really feel like Fortnite is the most free to play game out there. Yes, I did pay $8 3 years ago, but I’ve played nearly every day since, and gotten more than I need as far as cosmetics etc. I’ve never felt any pay to win pain or pay to keep playing.
I’ll add that I only play battle royale, not music festival or Lego. It does look like you need to spend some coin in those modes, I’m just talking about fighting. I suppose creators may need to pay to include some items, I have no idea how that works.
