PS5 Pro finds itself in somewhat of a strange situation. The nature of the tech industry right now means it’s priced absurdly high at £700/$700, and while its jump is substantial, it lacks that obvious selling point of 1080p to 4K, which the PS4 Pro had.
System architect Mark Cerny smartly sold the system on its ability to blend the best of Quality and Performance modes in modern games; the console is built to deliver best-in-class visuals at 60fps.
And according to tech experts Digital Foundry, there’s a lot to like about what’s on offer here. “Based on the titles we’ve played so far with PS5 Pro support […] I do think that PS5 Pro does a much better job of enhancing current generation games than PS4 Pro did back in 2016,” Richard Leadbetter writes in his review.
