Well-known Trophy hunter Hakoom, at one point a Guinness World Record holder for his obscene number of PlayStation gongs, has quit Sony amid an alleged account suspension storm.
While the specific details are unclear and we’ll try to get clarification, it appears Hakoom is claiming his account was hacked, leading to a suspension. After contacting Sony support, he was told that the reason for his account’s deactivation was due to unusual behaviour on his profile, including some Platinums he unlocked in seconds.
As Hakoom correctly points out, “auto-pop” Trophies are fairly common on the PS5, where you can effectively earn a Platinum instantly by importing a previously completed PS4 save. We have a number of these from first-party games like The Last of Us 2 and haven’t experienced any issues.
From what we can gather, Hakoom’s account has been restored now and he’s able to play his games like usual, but he’s allegedly been removed from PlayStation’s press list; purportedly he’d been receiving review codes from the platform holder previously.
