Actress Tati Gabrielle is no stranger to Naughty Dog, having starred as the antagonist of Uncharted’s movie adaptation opposite Tom Holland.
But in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet she’ll take the lead role in Naughty Dog’s first new intellectual property in over a decade – and she’s over the moon at the prospect.
“I am incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity to work on this game, and with the video game god himself Neil Druckmann and the whole Naughty Dog team,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you, Neil, for seeing me and trusting me with this new baby of yours, I promise to make you proud, dude.”
She continued: “Never could I have imagined that when I booked Uncharted that I was opening a door that my childhood brain would blow on the other side of.”
Gabrielle will need thick skin, though: Intergalactic has already become the victim of intense scrutiny on social media, with Naughty Dog disabling the YouTube comments on its upload of the game’s debut trailer.
Fortunately, most fans are stoked for this new franchise: it comfortably topped our poll of the best announcements from The Game Awards – a field which also included long-awaited new instalments in the Onimusha and Okami franchises.

Good for her. I respect that she kept her comments on.
I guess I need to see the uncharted movie now. I liked the trailer so I am curious as to how this game will shape up.
Nice to see her excited for the new project though.

Good luck to her.
Hope it works out successfully
Good luck to her. She will need it with all the insecure idiots out there with nothing better to do that hurl abuse.
Good stuff. I'd be stoked as well. You guys need to stop giving air time to the trolls. Most people are very excited about a new Naughty Dog IP.
I dig Mun's design.
Let them cook.
Obviously haven't seen anything on game yet but I have faith in Naughty Dog, and not letting a bald women "discourse" sway me from that.
I thought the trailer looked incredible, so I'm super stoked! Her role in the Uncharted movie was relatively forgettable, but that wasn't her fault; just the reality of a a PG-13 adventure-romp villain.
Yo Push Square stop fueling the fire! 😝 Just kidding, news is news, i guess.
Good luck Tati!
Hope Naughty Dog drops a bit more in depth gameplay and story footage soon, so we can all focus on the game itself instead of everything else!
@TruePlayStationGamer Yeah neil is the furthest you'd consider a "Video game god" lol
Haven’t watched the trailer because “cinematic game trailers” are pointless, more or less, to me. No gameplay, no watch.
However, from what I know about ND, I know it’s going to be a blast, overflowing with charm and quality, so I’m all in.
Best of luck to Tati! Cannot wait to experience this new story from one of the best devs out there.
No need to suck up to Neil, he does that himself more than enough.
So looking forward to this... That reveal trailer was absolute perfection (for my nerdy tastes, of course)!
I really hope that Naughty Dog write a good, likeable character for her to play as.
@ChromaticDracula It's 4m30s well spent, friend! The trailer may not show gameplay, but it does a great job communicating the atmosphere and mood of the story (not to mention a preview of the fantastic music that's complementing the visuals)!
I simply have faith in naughty dog and will let the finish product speak for itself. Should be good. The cry babies in video games have long passed annoyed me. Wish they would find another hobby
"Videogame God".
God damn that is cringe.
@ChromaticDracula it’s in engine and shows a few seconds of gameplay at the end so worth a watch
@Ryu_Niiyama don't get your hopes up. It's entertaining but def not a great adaptation. Uncharted is one of my favorite game series so I may just be being overly harsh.
@Jey887 what this guy said times a million.
Good for him to buy to be able to buy this kind of loyalty.
Note to self: keep NOT buying his games
She looks like an interesting character, if the writing is anything like Last of us 2, I'm in. People are going crazy on this cause she's bald and bossgirl vibes lol. Don't get me wrong, there is some forced diversity cringe out there, like DA Veilguard for example. But Naughty Dog is still solid af in my book and a great example on how to write diverse characters that feel genuine.
She’s a good actress. The Naughty Dog thing of the same actors being across movies, TV and games makes it feel a bit cliquey though.
Video game god?
Relax on the compliments, toxic positivity leads to games like Concord.

@Ryu_Niiyama the uncharted movie was better than I expected ,probably better than Sony expected as well, as there's a sequel in the works.
i had no idea who she was so i looked up her info ...
@devildragon2k23 you may not agree with some or none of his personal views , but the guy makes great games.
@nessisonett happens all the time in the industry though, if they work with someone who they get on with , they tend to hire them on a multiple basis , never did scorcese any harm 😁
The discourse around the game is going to be exhausting, Neil Druckmann’s ego already being present certainly doesn’t help.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk @helbertpina well alright then! I’ll give it a watch if there’s at least some gameplay shown. Thanks
@ChromaticDracula I completely agree CG trailers are mostly useless, but this one is at least in-engine, and it's been so long we don't see an actually new IP from NaughtyDog... Hope you like it!

Genuinely like her as an actress and I wish her well. However, Intergalactic looks like a world/story that was AI generated, soulless and stereotypical. I would say it is giving me Concord vibes in all the wrong ways.
I'm a fan of Naughty dog's games and I would rate Uncharted 4 and TLOU2 in my top 10 games of all time, but this looks like a miss :/
"the video game god himself Neil Druckmann"
Druckmann wouldn't make my top 100 of most influential/consequential developers. Yet this is the God of gaming? Shigeru Miyamoto who? Hideo Kojima who? Yu Suzuki who? Shinji Mikami? Toshihiro Nagoshi? Satoshi Tajiri? Hideki Kamiya? Hidetaka Miyazaki? How about a few Western folks? Warren Spector, Will Wright, John Carmack, Ed Boon?
Her saying this, ironically or unironically, says quite a lot about her and/or the kind of relationship you need to have with someone to land starring roles in entertainment. Cringe. What a shame.
Considering how smart the A.i can be in the last of us part two, I wonder how smart they will be in this new game that they are creating 🤔
@Cikajovazmaj You're exactly right. From the massive amount of footage we've seen from this super long trailer, I could also tell as much.
I hope she do a good job with her character.
And the same with the actress for Ghost of Yotei protag, i personally don't care what Jordan A. Mun actress do outside the game. I don't care about her personal life like her race, religion, or political views. I always differentiate the artist personal life and their works.
Just, please don't speak something unnecessary towards the people who will play your game. Learn from Concord devs who made a big PR blunder by called gamers as "talentless freaks".

Honestly upon replaying the Entire Legacy Of Kain series I'm reminded of what a true video game god or goddess in this case truly looks like and it's Amy Hennig not Neil her absence is truly felt at ND for me hopefully once she's done with that Marvel project Embracer can convince her to come back and finish The Dark Prophecy
She's a great actress! I have no doubts she'll smash this role 🙌 Although, I'm interested to know if Tony Dalton is reprising his character 👀

Druckman is nowhere near god level the big hitters from ND left. ND are/were amazing artists some of the best if not the best but it all will count for nothing if activists get in the way of what makes a game fun. Time will tell.

The video game God is Todd howard who succeeded Peter Molyneux and is training Sean Murray to be his successor, this druckmann guy all i know him as is the guy who broke one of the rules of the claimers in the walking dead when he tried to frame Daryl and got taught all the way for it.
@Arkz there is a lot of hatred towards femininity these days which is one of the reasons a game like stellar blade which everyone and their momma here clearly likes was completely ignored at the game awards.
@Amusei and you didn't notice any 'forced diversity cringe' in tlou2?

I think she is confusing Neil Druckmann to Kojima!
@JuiceboxMeister I didn’t enjoy the uncharted games although I do have all of them so I did give the series a chance (hence why I have not seen the movie) but my assumption is distilling it down to an hour or two might make a better impression on me.
@JustinTimberlake this has got to be arcana surely
Neil doesn't even like videogames.
I'm not convinced he has played one.
Wait they nearly 1:1'd an actress for a starring video game role without a new cleft chin? It's the end of days I tell ya.
@Deljo I think there's a huge difference between soulless slop like Veilguard and imo very real sounding and interesting characters like in TLOU. Honestly both sides of the culture war are insufferable, but I am also guilty for 💩ing on games like Veilguard every now and then so yeah 🤷♀️ it's all good fun ✌️
I really don't think he is a god. I didn't like any of his games. But he has lots of fans, i'm sure.
ND still has the benefit of the doubt with me but damn that trailer hit like a mix of Concord and Forspoken for me.
Curious to see more for sure
Y'all know the drill.
Protect Tati Gabrielle at all cost.
I'm glad she's excited about this but Neil is not a video game god the man literally ruined a fanbase for 10 million people lol
@LifeGirl saying something is “cringe” is also… cringe.
The trailer and character looked very cool. I like Naughty Dog stuff. Don’t care about Druckmann
I got Concord vibes from the trailer. Need to see a lot more before being impressed
@Cikajovazmaj "However, Intergalactic looks like a world/story that was AI generated, soulless and stereotypical." I feel this way towards the comments section sometimes..most of the time actually.
@AhmadSumadi 👍
This game ain't for me, and that's fine.
Though it did get me thinking how slow the western dev scene is compared to the East. This is probably the only ND title we will get this gen, where as Capcom will have released an entire library of fantastic titles in that time, just for example.
What the hell is going on in the west?!!
@Northern_munkey I can respect that
But yeah, to further explain my stand, it's based on the setting being overdone: 80s throwbacks mixed with futuristic visuals, bad jokes, overly familiar character dynamic (for the first 2 characters introduced in the game world), Escaping from New York coms and visual filter.. It just looked uninspired and rehash of existing ideas. Doesn't have to be bad, Uncharted looked like an unlicensed Indiana Jones game on paper, but ended up being one of the best series ever. Just not what I would present the new original IP with.
Some of the visuals reminded me of Kung Fury and Far Cry: Blood Dragon, and it would probably be better off if it tapped into that sort of silliness instead of trying to be semi-serious.
@Ichiban You're comparing an output from a studio like ND who only has 400 employee with a big company like Capcom who has 3500+ employee and multiple division. Like come on now 🙄
@Deljo Not really i did see a ton of insecure males. Maybe its because of my mother a strong female always ready to anything for us. She 160cm tall and she never stepped back to protect us its my mom.
Lately you see guys call everthing forced diversity a black person in the lead, gay/lesbian characters anything that isnt the same exact character like always.
@Ichiban Sony is something like Capcom you are comparing complete companies against studio's.
Video game God
ELL OH ELL
Can someone explain to me why everyone hates Naughty Dog now? Like literally just a few years ago it seemed like everyone loved them and now every time a new game of theirs gets announced there's a ton of hate. I don't get it.

I'm sceptical about any art that has one participant calling another one "dude" tbh. Gives me NFT vibes. Also to me the whole thing looks like ANOTHER GotG from front to back. My hopes are limited.
@Addy187 uh uh, "woke". Nice differentiated argument there!
@helbertpina (#17) did you watch Ready Player One?
@PerpetualBoredom Yes, read the book first though (thankfully).
@Golem25 Kojima is out in my list. Send him to LA to fangirl over hollywood stars XD.

@JustCameHereToSay No such thing as a game that has it all post 2018 , none of those games in the game awards had it all , a card game made by one person and a platformer based on the playroom character won everything and they didn't have everything.
Those games won because the game awards blended vote is 90% non gamer and 10% actual gamer, most gamers don't even know how to play poker so they definitely wouldn't vote some card game as goty and AstroBot won because that was a condition DreamCastGeoff set for the critics, he was like "look ign france, kotaku, thegamer i understand we can't have stellar blade win but we must have at least one Sony game win" and then they were all just like "i know let's all vote the feelgood playroom spin off" meanwhile i guarantee the 10% gamer vote was the elden ring dlc or wukong 😆
