Sony has made a fair amount of noise about PlayStation's 30th anniversary, with special edition consoles, sales, and plenty more initiatives celebrating the original machine's release.
To close proceedings out in style, the company has taken to Las Vegas' glitzy Sphere, lighting up the skyline with PlayStation-themed goodness.
Astro Bot stars, dancing and partying as the platform's logos and face button shapes phase in and out.

Wow, 30 years. Makes you think. Been using PlayStation as my primary console since 1995.
Who would have thought the little gray "toy" with the funny shapes on its controller would be carrying the entire company today and have the left the legacy it did.
The memories playing with friends and family, some of whom aren't around anymore, that's for life. Really an amazing thing.
All that said, the real 30th anniversary for us in the West is next year 😆
Now that's sick, and nice to see Astro take center stage. Let's not kill off this mascot though please Sony.
Has any Sony IP appeared on every generation I wonder. Astro is obvs Man of the Year but would have been cool to see WipEout on the Sphere.
@UltimateOtaku91 After winning GOTY I doubt it. I think they wanted to scale up Asobi from what I watched during an interview with Doucet but they've been hiring only as necessary and he said if they ever decide 100 people they'll probably do two projects instead of one super-sized AAA project.
Couldn’t imagine living there. What a colossal eyesore.
Does anyone know if Sony has responded about keeping the old school themes?
There needs to be an collection of Astro Bot fruit machines in a long row in one of the Vegas casinos. All those OAP's gambling away their grandchildren's inheritance in pursuit of some Playstation coinage.
It's quite nice to see Astro became the lead for PS marketing.
But hey, here's for another 30 year with PS 🍻
@Brundleflies21 They’d hit the jackpot thinking they won thousands but it’s actually only about £5 through PS Stars.
@nessisonett It is apparently very bad if you live near it since it is always on. There were videos doing the rounds when it had just opened.
That's pretty cool, but it got boring fast! I like Astro bot as much as the next person but I would like to see more playstation franchises up on that big sphere. Maybe like Kratos poking Poseidon's eyes out? Or Joel stabbing some guy in the knees to get information out of.
@Monstermash40 Sony's last big first party launch was Astro Bot, and it also cleaned up at the recent awards.
This is little more than marketing.
At first I was like "what a waste of money". Then I saw that it featured Astro Bot and I was like "money well spent"😎
@MrPeanutbutterz Duly noted. I was just making a joke that I would like to see some graphic violence on such a big, public screen
Now this is a nice use of The Sphere, unlike UFC...
Still not a patch on the Jaws 19 display in Back To The Future 2.
I am Astro Bot! I am Astro Bot!
@nessisonett It’s Vegas. Everything on the strip is a colossal eyesore.
I wonder if the person who reportedly said No major IP releases in 2024 is metaphorically kicking themself...
Cool.now give me a sly cooper collection.infamous collection.and resistance collection.word up son
@nessisonett I believe light pollution concerns were the reason plans for a similar sized sphere in East London were cancelled.
Expect an update to remove the PS1 loading sound soon then
