First a surprise announcement at The Game Awards last month and now soon to be playable, the sign-ups for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test will go live from tomorrow. To register and be in with a chance of taking part, you'll need to go to the official website page for the game when sign ups are available and enter your details. We will update this page when the opportunity is live on the site.
As the website reveals, you'll get to "play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch". It then continues: "Various technical verifications of online systems will be examined by conducting large-scale network load tests." It appears that the network test will only be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PS4 icon appearing on the page. The full title will receive a PS4 version, however. The network test itself will take place at some point next month.
As was explained when the Elden Ring spin-off was first revealed, Nightreign is a co-op-focused take on the gameplay of Elden Ring, condensed down into a roughly 45-minute session. Over the course of three days and nights, you'll work together to improve your character and fight bosses, both from Elden Ring and previous Dark Souls entries. You always have to be on the move, as a Battle Royale-like acid rain mechanic makes the play space smaller and smaller. It can be played in single player and offline, but the focus is the three-player mode.
