In the slipstream of its cancellation earlier this week, gameplay has leaked from Splash Damage’s online co-op shooter, Transformers: Reactivate.
The game, announced in 2022, had intended to deliver a Destiny-style multiplayer experience, where you assume the role of iconic Autobots like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
This gameplay footage looks early, but shows some promise. The transformation animations are impressive, and the overall fidelity looks decent – even if we’re not a fan of the Bayformers era character designs.
Sadly, it’ll never realise its potential, because the release has been cancelled and developer Splash Damage has been scaled down.
Is this something you would have given a go? Are you still pining for the Cybertron series of games from High Moon Studios? Let us know in the comments section below.

It definitely looks like it had promise. Being able to transform between vehicles and robots could have been a great mechanic for a multiplayer game.
Every time someone says they don't believe in fairies, a fairy dies.
Every time someone cancels a PS Plus subscription, a live service game gets canceled.
I wouldn’t have bothered as it’s another GaaS, but I’d love something like War for Cybertron again.
Nice PS2 type vibe.
watch transformers prime.
Make a G1 co-op shooter and I won't leave the house for months!
I'd have really enjoyed a modern G1-era TF game. Bayformer? No thankyou.
I did quite enjoy TF: Devastation on PS4, but would've preferred something to the calibre of the PS360 era Fall of Cybertron style games
Wow, im honestly surprised that people find this appealing. Watching this makes me appreciate the decision to cancel the game
cancelling that was the right choice
