The Critics’ Choice sale on the PS Store is live now, plunging the prices of over 1,400 highly rated games. That includes the likes of Astro Bot (£50.99/$49.79) and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 (£44.99/$52.49).
Here are some highlights we recommend paying attention to:

- Lies of P: £29.99/$35.99

- Resident Evil 4 (Gold Edition): £26.99/$29.99
- Silent Hill 2: £47.99/$55.99

Sekiro will still parry these sales at a speed of 29.99.
Well, that’s 8 games in my wishlist on sale…but all the same or more expensive as during other sales (where they were obviously still too expensive for me to consider them worthwhile).
The same prices for most of those games like the last sale and the sale before that Helldivers 2 should drop to about £20 and that will increase players, it's dropping back down to 80k again as people have had there squids time and moved on again
@TheArt as long as ive got a hole in my a** that game will never drop below £29.99 😂
I usually pick up some of the older games in these sales. Got Batman collection for £3.50 in the last sale. Bargain!!

Okay, my blood briefly ran cold because I misread the headline as more than 1,400 games had been "discontinued."
I'm an editor, and honestly I'm really good at it, but moments like this help to remind me that reading as an editor and reading as a reader are two very different mental processes.
still waiting on miles Morales ultimate edition, was reduced in a recent sale but not in the UK
Will lies of p ever go lower than that. I want to bite but at bloodborne prices
As others have pointed out, publishers are often bumping up, instead of lowering the sales prices. Which is what we’ll have to get used to, cause with retail dead, PSN has a de facto monopoly.
As I look at my wishlist and the discounts, nothing is a must buy, but a few are maybes. Anyone recommend one of these 4 (My doubts in parentheses): Atomic Hearts(heard story is blah, fighting gets repetative), Outcast:new beginning(very janky, not much variety), House Flipper 2( not huge on simgames, possibly short), Astrobot(platformers not a fav. Genre). With money burning a hole in my wallet and no new games that I want to buy at full price for awhile, anyone of these games seem fun, just not amazing. Recommendations?
Have also been waiting for Sekiro to drop below 30 quid for 84 years now
Still have a physical copy but it's pretty much the last game I haven't gone digital for
Feel like I'd almost go for it at £29.98 at this point..
@Kidfunkadelic83 😂 It's just so ridiculous, newer games like ER have dropped lower, yet I dunno what Activision really want with Sekiro...I waited years for it to drop from that £29.99 but gave up and got it in 2022. It's 2025 and it still won't budge.
@Elodin I'm not big on platformers either, but after weeks of hearing so much positive feedback (and not one negative) about Astrobot I gave it a try. Loved it, the game is just pure joy.
Waiting for Kingdom Come 2.
I didn’t even know there existed 1400 top rated PS4/5 games.
FF 16 was in sale for 15 euro in most shops before Christmas; physical is still the way to go!
@Elodin Atomic heart has an interesting setting, nice graphics and solid combat, but IMO story lacks some depth, while some game design decisions (like constantly respawning enemies) hold the project back. Still a solid 7-8, though.
Outcast 2 A new beginning — clanky-janky, though has fun traversal, looks bright and chill. Found a couple of nasty bugs, but still got some fun. Something like 6-7.
Astrobot is brilliant in terms of fun. Not a fan of platformers in general, but this one is great — tons of different mechanics, stylistics, cameos, fun moments, overall plot, sense of progression. Awesome game, 10 out of 10.
House Flipper 2 is the only one I haven't played. But if you want to try something like that — buy PowerWash Simulator. Never thought that cleaning can be so interesting, challenging and relaxing at the same time.
It's driving me crazy how the ffxvi versions keep going on sale but the seperate dlc has not been a single time since release.
Lots of c**p again…
@Steeleye50 @Tomato_Goose thank you both your replies. I appreciate it. I am definitely leaning Astrobot now. I will probably pick it up in the next day or so.
@thefourfoldroot1 Similar for me, when they eventually are on a sale at a price I like, I'll probably just think I may aswell wait until its on ps plus. Games at 70 quid is definitely getting me to spend less overall, cant imagine I'm alone in that
EA PGA Tour is tempting me at £6.99.
Since the Critics' Choice PS Store sale ends today (Wednesday 12th February, 2025), I've decided to treat myself to PS4/PS5 Balan Wonderworld (85% off at £5.24), and PS5 Gotham Knights (85% off at £9.74).
I chuckled a little bit that Balan Wonderworld scored a 'Bad' 3/10 on Push Square, but the PS Store still considers it a Critics' Choice title for this particular sale.
Anyhow, I figured that £5.24 is less than a large caramel latte at Costa, so I'm going to give Balan Wonderworld a go.
I'll actually be hoarding lots of PS Store sale games in February, so I'll have the first half of the year set for What Are You Playing? games each weekend.
Just last week I saved £225.18 from the Lunar New Year Microsoft Store's 2025 sale for my Windows laptop too, thanks to a Pure Xbox article.
Cheers to @get2sammyb, because I've also just saved £85 in this Critics' Choice sale now.
I meant to say that as well as mentioning above about Balan Wonderworld (PS4/PS5 £29.75 saved) and Gotham Knights (PS5, £55.25 saved), I also bought Namco Museum Archives Vol.1 (PS4, £12.00 saved) and NEW Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja (PS4/PS5, £20.00 saved) in the PS Store's Critics' Choice sale for last weekend's What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 567.
In total I've spent £23.96 (£5.24 + £9.74 + £3.99 + £4.99 = £23.96).
Also, in total I've saved £117.00 (£29.75 + £55.25 + £12.00 + £20.00 = £117.00).
There are only a couple hours left for the Critics' Choice sale, but I've already got my eye on Liam's news article about 1,500 PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Latest Huge PS Store Sale (Planet of the Discounts).
On top of that, Stephen has very kindly compiled a Push Square feature called 35 PS5, PS4 Games You Should Grab in PS Store's Planet of the Discounts Sale, which I'm going to read in detail after I've watched the brand new February 2025 State of Play at 10pm GMT tonight (Wednesday 12th February, 2025).
Lastly, here's a link to Sammy's Push Square coverage of Live: Watch Sony PlayStation's State of Play Livestream Right Here (12th February, 2025).
