Bungie has announced a Star Wars collaboration will bring newly themed items, emotes, and armour pieces to Destiny 2 next week. There'll be new emotes and finishers for players to equip from 4th February 2025, but mostly importantly, the three classes of Titan, Hunter, and Warlock will all receive their own armour set based on members of The Dark Side.
Titans can become standard Stormtroopers, Hunters can dress up as Deathtroopers, and Warlocks can join part of the Imperial's Royal Guard. All these items will be available as part of the new content update named Heresy. What looks to be far and away the coolest thing on offer, though, is a Ghost skin that transforms your talking companion into a Death Star. Obviously, they'll all need to be bought with real money.
The PlayStation Blog explains: "Available with the launch of Heresy are three new armor ornaments (one per Guardian class), each inspired by the soldiers of the Galactic Empire, in addition to a number of Star Wars-inspired accessories."
These items launch alongside Destiny 2: Heresy, which is a new Episode of content comprising three Acts that serve as the final epilogue to last year's well-received DLC The Final Shape. "Orbiting the planet Saturn amidst its massive rings, the Dreadnaught never really left the lore of Destiny, serving both as an ominous reminder of Guardians’ previous conflict with Oryx in The Taken King expansion and, later, as a staging ground for the forces of Xivu Arath. With Heresy, the Hive ship will once again return to the forefront."

You can never go wrong with a Star Wars crossover 😌
How much did Sony pay for this then
This is not what Destiny needs to save it.
We've come a very long way from the iconic visual identity of Destiny 1.
Haven't played destiny for quite a while but was the dreadnaught part of paid dlc that was then vaulted?
If so, is this location returning to all people or just those buying the latest season?
As one of the few D2 players still (barely) hanging on. This is a dumb cash grab.
My playtime has plummeted since TFS, and so has many many other players. A 20$ Star wars costume does nothing to bring up our playtime or interest.
@TheFakulty just those that bought this season. Oh. And it'll disappear in 4 months when the next expansion comes out.
And one of the main characters of this episode is someone who has been vaulted for years (brief comeback for a season last year) so anyone that started in the last 3 years has no context or knowledge for their storyline.
@Stragen8 this is what infuriated me when they announced vault. I knew they would re release content and make us pay again. I was a massive player up until the vaulted content happened. I either have bought the expansions 2 years later for next to nothing or had it free on plus. I will never give bungie another penny, even though the gameplay is great. I will not support a d3 or marathon.
@TheFakulty Yeah it's really infuriating how badly they've handled the game and expansions.
If I hadn't bought the deluxe edition of TFS that came with this content, I'd have already stopped playing.
I don't plan on supporting the next content releases and I think a large portion of the player base feels the same. Curious to see how the next expansions do.
Marathon will be interesting. Bungie has garnered so much negative sentiment I'm going to be surprised if Marathon launches well.
