A Slow Month Sees PS5, PS4 Evergreens Dominate the PS Store Sales Charts in January 1

January was not the biggest month for new releases – it rarely is, really. It’s not particularly surprising that the PS Store sales charts were dominated by faithful favourites, then, with the likes of EA Sports FC 25, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 all putting in their routine appearances.

One mention must go to Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which managed to break through all of the evergreens and chart in 11th position on the PS5 in the United States. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black also appeared in 14th place in the US, so a good month for publisher Koei Tecmo in America. Neither game charted in Europe.

Elsewhere, the PS4’s best-sellers list seems increasingly influenced by sales, with Red Dead Redemption 2 doing particularly well on both sides of the pond. Kingdom Come: Deliverance got a boost in Europe ahead of the sequel, while local multiplayer games like Gang Beasts and Unravel Two continued to perform well.

In the free-to-play category, Wuthering Waves did relatively well on its PS5 launch by charting fifth in the US and eighth in Europe. As you’d expect, the likes of Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, and Roblox continue to rule the roost here.

And that’s it really for a particularly slow month. You can view the full list of best-sellers through here, but something tells us February will be a much more interesting month.
