Everything that Hideo Kojima does conveys a "go big or go home" mantra, so it's really no surprise the Collector's Edition for Death Stranding 2 is a standout. It's so impressive, in fact, that Kojima Productions has deemed it suitable to give the special physical version its own trailer to detail everything the $230 purchase will get you. Pre-orders for the Collector's Edition will go live at 10am local time on Monday, 17th March 2025 in the UK, USA, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The Collector's Edition comes with two days of early access, meaning you'll get to play from 24th June via a digital download code.
The star of the pricey version is a 15" Magellan Man statue, which is a character/monster revealed in the recent release date trailer. You also get a 3" Dollman figurine that could be used as a keychain, a letter from Hideo Kojima himself, and more. Here's a full list of all the Collector's Edition contents:

I remember when MW2 vault edition came with a pair of night vision goggles, or Fallout coming with a Pipboy, those to me are collectors editions, I find cosmetic DLC to be very lazy.
Edit: Oh and this whole "play early access" concept NEEDS to stop.

I hope there will also be a fairly priced alternative for people who like physical copies, such as a nice steelbook version for € 20 more or so as they did with Starfield.
Oh cool another collector edition with no physical game included.Together with the physical game it costs the same amount as a Nintendo switch!
It's not early access, it's delayed access for people who want to pay the regular price.
Unrelated to the collectors edition but related to the trailer: I can't stand the half, or quarter) frame animation they have used on the doll. This works in some settings, but in a photorealistic game just looks really jarring. Completely takes me out of the action.
No physical game disc on collectors edition should be banned.
I'm skipping this one, I'll grab the art-book whenever that gets announced. The last one was a big chonky 250+ hardback, art cards can't compare and digital codes are not something I ever want to support.
How exactly is this "so impressive"? A statue, a key ring and a couple of art cards are the only physical items you get. Absolute bog standard Special Edition stuff. In fact if anything this seems to have less than most.
I will never understand this cult of Kojima thing people seem to buy into. Surprised it doesn't come with a free bottle of Kool-Aid.

The statue is really cool, I think, and not at all a bad inclusion. Diggin’ the keychain too (parallels the one we got for DS1). But the other crap? NOPE. AND! with no physical game in there?!? Collector’s editions are for the niche gamers that want physical stuff. I get that people with digital PS5’s may still want the statues, but then they really need to release a digital and physical edition. Welcome to our digital future… 🙄
I understand the deception of some people with this editions with no disc, but this is the only possible way, we live in a digital market now and the cd is the low cost version of the games....
They cant bind the most expensive version to something like a cd in modern times...
No disc, no buy.
Since the only version that includes a disc is the base version, that'll be the one I go with
Im gonna get this. Loved the first game, never bought any collectors edition, have space in my home office, and always go 100% digital. So this is a solid buy.
So hyped for this game. Not the collector edition of course. Because I’m a cheap *****. But I will 100% be getting this game once it’s 50% off.
