Hitman World of Assassination is undoubtedly one of the best games you can buy on the PS5, and for those of you who own a PSVR2 headset, it’s about to get even better.
While you could play the entire game with the original PSVR headset on PS4, an updated version is coming on 27th March, expanding support to Sony’s new virtual reality accessory. That means you can expect more precise controls, vastly superior visuals, and much more.
A new gameplay trailer gives you a taste of what to expect, and the playfulness is off the charts. In it, Agent 47 is shown throwing cans and baseballs at guards to take them out, before sniping an F1 driver. These levels will forever be timeless, won’t they?
The PSVR2 version will not be free, but it’ll cost just $9.99/£7.99 for existing owners of the game, which is more than generous as far as we’re concerned. We’re sure there’ll be bundles available for people who don’t already own the base game, too.
Will you be replaying this all-timer in virtual reality? Snap a couple of necks in the comments section below.

I'm ready. I was so disappointed when the PS VR1 version didn't had move controller support that I didn't even bother to play it.
The PS VR2 controller scheme sounds very promising!
That's a no brainer! I HAVE to get it.
This feels like a must have
I really want to play this with VR2 as well. Such a fantastic game, and the virtual reality adds so much to experience.
Picked it up in a sale a couple of months ago in preparation for this. Can’t wait!
This looks incredible and will be getting it. My PSVR2 backlog includes Behemoth and Alien Isolation so not sure when I will get to it.
Do you reckon I should put it to the top of the list?
I‘ve bought the game last year and wait eagerly for the PSVR2 update. Looking for some thrilling and ridiculous fun!
This is easily one of my most anticipated games. I liked it on PSVR, it looked stunning, but the controls let it down.
Roll on the 27th.
I’ll be visiting Haven Island VR in July as a Summer holiday substitute.
In my opinion already the psvr1 version of hitman was fantastic despite the limited control options which e.g. made using the wire a gamble, and the unimpressive 2D cut scenes. Anyway I am hopeful that the psvr2 will be a decent upgrade over the psvr1 version i.e. improved control scheme, a better resolution and maybe a visual fidelity which is closer to the flat version.
Highly anticipated !
It’s been over 4 years since Hitman 3 was released, so this is a surprise update. Also considering VR2 isn’t exactly setting the world on fire right now. I’m glad to see content being released for those who have a VR2 though; the best VR experiences seem to be add-in modes to existing games.
By the way, I wonder how that James Bond game is doing. If it’s been in development for around four years then we might have some solid progress by now.
@Flobbots you got a couple weeks,you can burn through both games by the 27th I'd say. Hitman has all 3 games available in VR, once you start, it'll be a time sinker. Enjoy!
I was thinking about getting this after after playing Pistol Whip. Just talked about it in the other PSVR2 post. Makes me wish Max Payne trilogy or Stranglehold was ported to VR.
I'm soo pumped for this. Played a little bit of if the pcvr port and the immersion was next level, but the controls and no room scaling made this super uncooked in regards to the vr. 10 dollars is a bargain if they taken the time and resources to get this right. So excited! Whoop.
I wont buy another VR2 but this is one game that makes me wish id held out a few more months from selling mine to a buddy. I may have to borrow it back again off him 😂
Anyone who gets the chance to play games like this, or Resi, or GT, or Astro etc, in VR just immediately knows they’ll never be able to truly enjoy playing them flat again. Be careful people.
@Flobbots don't sleep on Alien Isolation
I am so stoked to play this, I am also not a big streamer kinda guy but streaming this gameplay on VR is one of the most hilarious things to do, just watch MERPTV on YouTube, that sh** is super funny.
Cant wait!!
@Skyliner
I bought it day one but had other things, then I saw some good reviews albeit mentioning a few bugs, and also something about the xenomorph spawn rate, which I heard that they have patched and rejigged respectively since. When did you play it, release window or after? How was it?... not asking for a full review, I think I'm asking to get pumped about playing it!
@R_Ryder yeah me too so much content , is everything in vr do you know ,or is it just the main campaign.
Incredible, seeing this makes me feel like a young un again. I'm not really into VR but this game would make me purchase a headset if I ever had an interest in one.
Maybe one day, next week, next month, who knows🙃😅
@Flobbots @Skyliner
There's a VR version of Alien Isolation? Do you mean Alien: Rogue Incursion?
We need more PSVR to PSVR2 conversions. I can’t believe Sony hasn’t done Astrobot Rescue Mission.
@lacerz Amen to that! Blood & Truth! Resident 7, The Persistence, Iron Man, Wipeout Omega!
@xDD90x
Ah sorry to give you false hope, I did mean Rogue incursion!
Although I believe there is a mod on PC for Isolation I believe (could be wrong!)
@ThorsHammer
Thanks for the recommendation but I only play 1 game at a time and I'm playing Death Stranding at the minute, only on chapter 8 I think at the minute and want to Platinum if I can..... 150 hours in... I also play slowly!
If they get the mechanics right, and footage suggests they will, this will be absolutely fantastic.
On the one hand, this has the potential to be the best game on PS VR2, just second to GT7, of course. But on the other hand, it could also be a bit of a disaster as it's not a trivial port. I just hope IOI has put enough work into this, I'm so ready.
@xDD90x as Flobbots said, there is a VR mod for Alien Isolation on PC, called MotherVR. 1000% the best way to experience that game.
BYO brown underwear.
Shame the franchise died for me years ago with that episodic format crap, nothing to do with Square Enix contrary to popular belief.
And then when they did another remaster last gen, they left out 2 and Contracts, the only 2 games I care about.
