Developer FuturLab has announced PowerWash Simulator 2, a direct sequel to its satisfying smash hit clean-'em-up.
Due for release on PS5 sometime in 2025, the announcement comes via the above teaser trailer, showing the series' gnome mascots unveiling the title and brief glimpse of gameplay.
Unlike the original game, PowerWash Simulator 2 will be self-published by FuturLab, enabled by the first game's success; it's reached a whopping 17 million players.
"PowerWash Simulator 2 is all about adding in even more avenues for players to achieve that same sense of satisfaction, with new tools, features and quality of life improvements," says design director Dan Chequer.
The sequel includes an all-new campaign that takes you across the original setting of Muckingham, plus new locations such as Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City.
It also adds a home base to the experience, a hub you will be able to customise with furniture and other items you collect throughout the game.
While the cleaning itself looks broadly the same based on what's been shown so far, the sequel includes a brand new soap system, with soap "that clings to stubborn stains and annihilates dirt". Hopefully it'll prove to be more useful.
PowerWash Simulator 2 will feature online co-op as before, plus it introduces split-screen, meaning two local players can clean together.
We asked the studio whether the sequel would incorporate cross-platform co-op, but the response is non-committal right now. "We don’t have anything to share on crossplay at the moment," the team says. Here's hoping.
There's more information to come in April, says FuturLab, with the team lining up a late 2025 launch.

People will literally play anything these days. well anything except Concord
@Mikey856 or Spectre Divide 😀
Get it on PSVR 2!
Yes! This made my day!
Who would have thought cleaning the grime off of stuff with a power washer would be so darn engaging?!
Loved the first game!
Wonder if they are finally done with DLC on the original. They were on pace to knock off Train Sim World 2 with the amount of DLC trophies.
Loved the first one, such a relaxing game. When my wife was watching me playing this, she asked me if I could get my ass outside and powerwash the porch.
….and I just bought a Karcher!
Really needs PSVR2 support. I don't imagine I'd buy this without it.
It's a surprisingly enjoyable and relaxing game. Haven't played it in a while though and see all the DLC is on sale atm. So might get them and get back into it for the new game releasing.
I've been really stressed out the last few years and read somewhere that the first game was a major stress reliever. Tried it out and it really is incredibly relaxing and satisfying. Sometimes it's just nice to tune out and clean some @($&U!!
surprised they are making a sequel. I thought they would go the sims 4 route with just updates and DLCs.
Wash, wash, wash, indeed.
This needs PS VR2 support!
I say this with no hyperbole or exaggeration:
This is the not only the best gaming news I've heard in a long time, this is the best news, period.
I...am VERY excited.
Sequel to the true 2023 GOTY 🙌🏻
I’m one trophy of platinum in the original (get gold on 5 challenges). Driving me nuts. Deffo getting PWS2 even if it doesn’t have PSVR2 support (but that would be sooo good)
Just When I Thought I Was Out, They Pull Me Back In
My wife will be ecstatic about this news.
I would literally buy a PSVR2 especially for this game
I love Powerwash Simulator for chilling out in the evening while listening to podcasts or an audiobook. Will definitely give the second one a look.
Fantastic! The soap didn't really work well enough to bother with in the current version, apart from on a couple of vehicle levels, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that's improved.
I shall be there day one.
