Sony has now made the PS5 Astro Bot console bundle first leaked by Billbil-Kun an official product, with select retailers receiving stock of it this week. This is a bundle that'll be available worldwide, and it comes with a base PS5 and a digital copy of Game of the Year winner Astro Bot.
Pricing for the bundle hasn't been confirmed, but according to Billbil-Kun, it'll be $450. Of course, as an additional bonus, Astro's Playroom will come pre-installed on the system, so you'll be able to chart the fan-favourite robot's entire PS5 journey up until now via a purchase. There's also one more speedrun level to launch later this week from the currently announced crop.

Astro bot a so great. Hope alot of parents buy their kids this bundle. It's a perfect game for kids. Now give us Astro karting!
I'd love a few more Sony IP levels (mainly Bloodborne) as DLC but it's probably best for ASOBI to go into hiding now and start on the next installment. Hopefully it'll be a PS6 launch title.
My only surprise is that this wasn't released pre xmas.
The best deal I’ve seen this weekend is the PS5 Pro at £599.98 total price at Costco UK.
Goes to show at £700 someone is making lots and lots of money.
Even if I don't like the game, that is a great idea.
@Americansamurai1 I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and they absolutely love it. It’s the first game my 3 year old has ever played, and he’s already a pro. He can beat mighty chewy, haha.
@OldGamer999 or Costco isn’t. One retailer selling at a large discount doesn’t tell us much, they may just be trying to reduce their inventory at a loss/break even.
I’m not saying there isn’t a margin and that margin isn’t higher than the base models but being digital only the margin is as much to offset the lack of being able to sell that customer discs as much as it is the console itself
Astro bot is up there with the best games I've ever played its so amazing I can't praise it enough hopefully a new game gets released over the new few years
@Orangetabbylover yeah my daughter really likes Astro as well. Wonder if we'll ever seen
a Sony animated movie about him? He has mass appeal.
It’s as if they were designed for each other
Great to see Astro bundled and a PS5 with a disc drive!
What would have made this bundle epic, is including the Astrobot controller. Otherwise tis a meh bundle.
So should be 350 quid might have to grab one if so 😎
Great bundle. If it was released before xmas last year and came with the special controller, it would have been perfect.
@Lowdefal
It seems to be a new thing they started selling the PS5 and series x as well recently but only with about £30 below RRP.
I think the PS5 Pro has a good profit margin compared to the base models

Disappointing that it's only available in the US
Why did it take this long for this to be a thing?
@BansheeNorn Astro Bot > Mario
This is one way to get the sales numbers up for Astro Bot. I loved the game. Had so much fun with it. But the fact is it didn’t light the sales chart up. That disappointed me cause it was such a great game. More people getting to play Astro bot is a good thing.
@mountain_spider Agreed.
It looks so cute!
@BansheeNorn I've played most of the Mario games and I still prefer Astro Bot because the 3D Mario games tend to get too bloated or bogged down with gimmick controls.
@HonestHick It sold incredibly well. It sold 1.5m over September and October and since then it has never left the top 20 selling games on PSN in Europe or North America. In December(biggest month of the year) it was the 8th top selling game in USA, and then in January it was 12th(February data is not released yet).
Not only did it sell well at launch it also has incredible legs and continues to sell at a high rate. Ratchet and Clank sold 3.97m in 2 years and Astro Bot is tracking ahead of it and has much stronger legs. Astro Bot will probably break 5m in 2 years easily, and 10m lifetime.
Platformer games don’t typically open with 5m sales at launch. They sell at a sustained rate over time. You need to adjust your expectations.
Yeah I've noticed the small price drop on the target website in Australia with this bundle. It's $719 for the disc console Astro bundle, down from the usual $799 for just the console itself. A nice $80 saving, which is welcome. Even better would be if this were a permanent price drop though, hopefully so.
@ChrisDeku i don’t need to adjust anything. The game was at 1.5 million in 2 months. Now i am not saying thats awful. But it’s not lighting up the sales charts. Mario sure as hell sells more than that in a few hours of release. But Mario is different. I get it. All i was saying is this game should have came out swinging and it kinda of just threw a jab. Not a failure and to me one of the most fun games I’ve played in a long while. But not huge numbers which is concerning for games like these going forward. Sea of thrives a live service game that was a joke on this site before coming to PS5 sold a million in a short time for your exceptions and food for thought.
@mountain_spider the game is pure fun. I only buy PS consoles for their 1st party. Everything else is on Xbox and soon to be PC. This game and ratchet and clank alone made me happy i have a PS5. But neither are tops of the charts and it’s a concern going forward. Even those these games aren’t HUGE budgets they are still time and money. I ain’t saying we won’t see more but it be nice to see them drive a little more sales to ensure their time and risk for dev’s.
Im surprised your 3 year old already can game with a ps controller. managing to move the sticks and clicking the face buttons require quite big hands and a sort of cordination a 3 year old really doesnt have yet. My 4 year old can barely do anything but click the same face button over and over. Kids hands are just way too small until theyre like 4,5 or 5 years old
@HonestHick What in the world does Sea of Thieves have to do with Astro Bot? Using your method of comparing things to the most popular games in its genre then 1m(and 1m at launch on steam) is pretty pathetic compared to Helldivers 2 selling 12m at launch on the same formats.
Surely Hi-fi Rush is closer to Astro Bot. How much did that sell? 76 units?
Metaphor: Refantazio, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Remake were all big Single Player games released last year. They all sold 1m at launch(and very likely have not hit 2m even yet) and were available on PS, Xbox and PC. Indiana Jones sold around 300k on Steam, Hellblade 2 around 100k.
Comparing Astro Bot to Mario is like comparing an open world game to GTA.
@ChrisDeku i just thought it was funny a game like sea of thieves that was made fun of by PS fans for a few years then comes to PS5 and sell a million copies out the gate. But a game that i seen nothing but hype and excitement for in Astro bot sells 1.5 million out the gate. It’s just so hard to gauge what will and won’t do well these days was my point. I am happy Astro Bot will get to expand to more players being packed into the console now. More players playing that game is a good thing. It’s truly a well made game that is fun.
@mountain_spider
haha yea, but i guess we all do with our children
@mountain_spider how’s it not true that astrobot is a kids game? The difficulty is almost non-existent & the presentation is aimed towards kids, despite being a game for everyone (hence the “E” rating)
I don’t get why gamers get so upset with others seeing a game as childish, but it’s ok to downplay games that aren’t and call them edgy and for angsty teens. double standard.
