Dark Souls II, admittedly the black sheep of the FromSoftware family, having not received the personal, sadistic attentions of Hidetaka Miyazaka, still has legions of fanatical defenders. These Hollow beings have risen in response to Hideo Kojima's alleged hubris, after that auteur creator casually used the acronym "DS2" to refer to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which just got an epic release date trailer.
Well-observed by GamesRadar+, DS2 fans (by which we mean fans of Dark Souls II, to be clear) came swarming out of the woodwork, after Kojima dared to ask "How was the DS2 trailer?". The top response, by quite a margin, stoically responded: "It was good, feels like just yesterday. Dark Souls 2 is the best Dark Souls."
"I love DS2", quipped another, posting an image of DS2's customizable protagonist, known as the Bearer of the Curse. A third took things a step further, putting Kojima on blast and disparaging Death Stranding's gameplay in the process: "Don't you dare use that acronym for Walking Simulator 2."
What do you think? Has Kojima finally gone too far in daring to usurp Dark Souls II's established acronym? In future, please refer to Death Stranding's hubristic sequel by the acronym it actually deserves, "DS2: OtB"; show some respect to the real DS2 in the comments section below.

No the 3DS is DS2
DS2 is not an acronym as it does not form a new word (like SCUBA or RADAR). It is an initialism.

It can be confusing every time someone talks about GoW I am thinking about Kratos, but sometimes others are thinking about Marcus Fenix. I've had more than one muddled conversation where it takes a while for one or both parties to realise they are discussing totally different games. lol

Yeah, the DualShock2 was ok.. but don't see the fuss, compared to DualSense (DS, and another whole can of worms!).
@Ooccoo_Jr By far, the best acronym I've ever seen in a video game is from Harry the Handsome Executive (old Mac game). There's a staple gun in the game called the "Bi-Angular Directionally Accelerated Staple System."
Absolute classic.
Death Strandings acronym should be STG = Strand-Type Game
So Death Stranding 2 is STG 2

DS2 will forever be Dark Souls II. What's there to talk about?
The Datsun DS2 car was before both of those, but in terms of games, Dark Seed II used it first.
DS2 for me will always be Dead Space 2, and Dark Souls II will always be known as "Dark Souls is an incredible series, except for that one".
Never understood the hate towards Dark Souls 2 i loved it.
