Split Fiction, the latest cooperative masterpiece from Hazelight, has been selling like hotcakes and keeping friends and couples either together or at each other's throats for a couple of weeks now. One particularly dynamic duo has stumbled into and subsequently cleared the gruelling "Laser Hell" level. As a reward, director Josef Fares is flying them out to Sweden to check out the studio's next game.
As chronicled by IGN, content creators E1uM4y and Sharkov shared their successful run on the Chinese social media platform Bilibili, demonstrating their hardcore platforming skills and ultimately being rewarded with a special video for doing so. In it, Fares himself congratulates those able to clear the laser nightmare obstacle course, admonishing those of us who are only able to see it via video clips.
Like some kind of digital Willy Wonka, Fares promises that the first two people to clear the challenge will be flown to Sweden to check out Hazelight's next game. As good as his word, the director confirmed the duo's achievement on Twitter/X and promised, "We'll be in touch!"
At this rate, Hazelight will become one of modern gaming's most beloved developers. What do you think of this tale and the creative reward the studio put up? Let us know in the comments section below.

Are we ready to see him on stage at the game awards accepting another GOTY win later this year?
Josef Fares is an absolute legend. Incredibly based. All game developers should be like this guy. There's nothing corporate or sleezy about him 🙌🏻 He just respects video games and gamers alike.
This is a really cool story!
Hazelight can do no wrong it seems. Can you imagine a world if all videogame developers were like them?!
Man, how cool is that? So nice to see genuine enthusiasm being spread. Can't wait to see what Fares does next, he is a total badass.
Josef Fares is awesome, he radiates an amazing infectious energy.
this industry needs more like Josef Fares, F**k the Oscars indeed!
I am astonished that there's an in-game challenge in today's world that didn't get beaten within a few hours of release. It must be really tough and/or very well hidden.
As someone playing this game who has never heard of this challenge, I would have loved to read more about the specifics.
