Yooka-Replaylee, Playtonic's "love letter to our love letter to classic 3D platformers", is a remixed and remastered version of Yooka-Laylee, and it's inching ever closer to release on PS5. There is still no firm date on this one, but it has been pledged for release later in 2025.
Thankfully, we got a bunch of gameplay in a new trailer showing off the offering's latest features. A fresh control scheme, new moves, and the ability to chain moves together are just some of the ways in which Playtonic has incorporated feedback from the original and comes jam-packed with additional content and secrets to uncover.

Are you hanging out for a return to the wonderful world of Yooka-Laylee? Will you double-dip on enhanced remaster/remake Yooka-Replaylee, or are you considering jumping in for the first time? Let us know in the comments section below.

As an original backer on Kickstarter for this game I just wish they took all these new mechanics and features and started over with a sequel. The original game was pretty disappointing and I don't really have a desire to go back.
@jvecc I am surprised they keep trying to make the first game a big thing rather than make a significantly improved sequel with what they learned from the original. Their 2D game was really well liked by comparison.
Speaking of 3D platformers, whats up with the Hat in Time devs? That is actually a good 3D platformer.
I backed this way back then. I wanted to help make one of my favorite games come back to life. Played the demo and never went back. Read some nasty reviews, heard a lot of mixed ratings based on all kinds of things I didn’t care about. Stayed away and never saw the full potential I was offered on GoFundYourself. Willing to try it out now. The actual joy of playing Banjo Kazooie deserves reiteration.
Only playing this is Jon Trons voice is back in the game. F this dev,
Played Yooka Laylee on the PS4, thought it was a fun 3D-platformer. Surprised the developer does a full remake, would have preferred a sequel actually.
Yeah, I don't really get what the point of this remake is. I'd much prefer them to just do a sequel.
Oh, they haven't done away with the energy system.
Guess I won't be getting this one.
