8 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for April 2025 Announced

Battlefield 1 getting an influx of players might be fun. Not sure how the servers are right now, but it's a great game. I hope they're giving out all the DLC with this package, too.

Wow, this is a great line-up. Even that Plate game looks promising. I'm guessing you'd have to have seen a Harry Potter movie to really appreciate Hogwarts Legacy.

@GirlVersusGame you’d probably appreciate references if you’ve seen the movies but since it’s a self contained story, you don’t need to have seen any of the movies to play. It could be a good entry point to the series

@zhoont I pop in a couple times a month and haven't really had any issues finding matches. A big bump in new players would be nice though, but mostly because I'm not very good in BF games, so some scrubs will be welcome 😂

Only Blue Prince and Lost Records for me.

Happy with the list. Looking forward to blue prince and been waiting for the inevitable hogwarts legacy. Plateup looks like an overcooked clone so that looks worth a play too. Got battlefield, and no interest in golf, no interest in lost records or the premium games.

My issue with this month is the massive reduction in quantity. With the ps extra/premium rebrand, the best thing about it over psnow was the increase in quantity, it meant there was nearly always something for everybody, we were getting 15-20 games over the 2 tiers, we're not even reaching double figures now and that's a big problem.

It's fine if you've not got the main titles and obviously this month with 2 day 1 releases theyve ensured this isnt the case but in future, if you happen to own the main games of the month with just 6 games on offer it's going to lead to months where lots of people have nothing of interest to try.

The titles don't all need to be stellar AAA titles but the numbers need to increase.

@ztpayne7 Thanks maybe I'll watch one or two of them before the game hits Extra. I wanted to do it sooner but each time they'd announce a new one.

Blue Prince looks interesting. I'll give that a try tomorrow

@Bluemoon2008 ye why start offering more games each month even if they are indie titles just not enough each month at all I think sony are ripping people off especially taken horizon zero dawn forbidden west and spiderman off there as well then on the other hand though I think ps plus essential the 3 game a month Is amazing value for the money

Hogwarts Legacy is a good game. BF1 was the beginning of the end. Still a good game but not a good battlefield game.

Gonna try Blue Prince as it gets good reviews.
Never played a LiS game so might try Lost Records.

Hogwarts is a fantastic chill game and there's an awful lot to discover. I'm not a Potter fan but I love this game. EA Road to the masters is now an excellent golf game but it was quite lacking at launch but is now a top tier golf game..graphics are not that great especially in performance mode. Both games are going to eat your time and I highly recommend both titles. Have fun.

Good month with Hogwarts and Blue Prince, looking forward to both. Played lots of PGA Tour on Series X - a slow burner as it takes time to up your skills but it’s a decent game.

Pretty weak month for people that already own Hogwarts Legacy.
Premium continues to be the biggest joke. Sure those 2 games are fun, but they should have way more classics per month and should already have the highest rated and most popular games. And hey, I love War of the Monsters, but come on...

Think they payd bigtime for Hogwarts. Maybe thats why we get 8 games.

I'm not one for complaining. However, I pay for premium, specifically for the classic catalogue. It is infuriating that War of the Monsters which launched on PS4 as a classic in 2015 is on here. Just because it's packaged with a new emulator is silly. I don't subscribe for patches.

Premium games are, once more, really weak - it's basically just one PS1 game. Have Sony given up on this initiative again?

I know they're limited in resource at Implicit Conversions, but if that's the issue then Sony need to expand or start porting in-house. There are still so many obvious 1st/2nd party titles to draw from like Motorstorm: Artctic Edge, Socom Fireteam Bravo 1-3, Untold Legends, The Getaway, Gangs of London, Modnation+LBP PSP, JetX, Downhill Domination etc etc. These are titles that Sony fully own so don't even need to go to other publishers for.

That's not even to mention the big franchises like Ratchet and God of War (which I personally hope get a bit more effort than just straight emulation when they finally come to PS5).

I wish I was surprised by how this has seemingly petered out, but this has unfortunately become a known trend for Sony's Playstation initiatives.

Extra is pretty great this month but premium is lack, they really need to set their game up on premium.

My poor backlog is growing.

6 Extra games is not a lot. Especially when you already own Hogwarts and have no interest in Battlefield and Golf. Lost Records and Blue Prince make it a decent month still.

Premium is still a joke, so many PS1, PS2 , PSP titles and they keep adding just 2 most of the time and often not the most interesting ones either.

Happy to see Blue Prince there. A game i definitely want to try out but it might not be for me. So glad not needing to spend extra money on it.

Beat hogwarts earlier this year. Loved it.

Not too bad this month.

BF1 is an amazing game, will enjoy that with an influx of new players

And don’t mind a little bit of golf so that’s a winner

Nothing there for me to want to subscribe again right now but I am fine with this, I'm playing Avowed on Gamepass.

Advice for those who will plan to start Hogwarts Legacy - play on hard. The battle system is actually good, but you won't notice it on lower difficulties.

Damn. That may be most valuable month.

I finished Tape 1 of Bloom and Rage so I’d like to see what Tape 2 is in store. Should finish Robocop by then.

Then Blue Prince is getting Rave reviews and seems like an awesome puzzle game. I’m in!

Then Hogwarts, which I played the trial of and enjoyed so I would like to play it. I thought it would be on PS Plus soon!

PS Plus was running out on 25th May after I’d stacked it loads so this line up means I may need to stick with Extra for another year…

War of the Monsters is already on Premium so it’s essentially just one new addition this month. Very weak 💀

A positive however is it will at least have a platinum this time around.

Still waiting for some JRPGs to hit. Call Square and get something like the Bouncer. They are never gonna use it. This feels like stuff they got for pennies
