Masochists rejoice! Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is getting its promised Hardcore Mode update at some point next week.
The open world RPG is already quite demanding, grounded in survival elements and with no difficulty options to speak of. It can take hours for the game's structure to click — especially if you didn't play the first game — but you're rewarded with a truly immersive medieval experience.
But if you want to take that immersion to the next level and really suffer through the trials and tribulations of poor Henry, Hardcore Mode is the place to be.
Assuming it's like the Hardcore Mode of the title's predecessor, our unfortunate protagonist will be lumped with debilitations that make just about everything in the game more of a struggle. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Developer Warhorse Studios has teased ten different negative perks that can be applied during this incoming mode. 'Sweaty', for example, is probably going to make Henry stink faster than usual, meaning that bathing will become a more pressing issue — unless you're okay with the local peasants wanting nothing to do with you.
We've also got Bashful, Picky Eater, Bad Back, Punchable Face (our potential favourite), and, of course, Hangry Henry.
Will you be taking Hardcore Mode for a spin? Ready yourself for the pain in the comments section below.

If Hangry Henry means he can only say negative, confrontational things when hungry that would be quite a good 😅
My third play through is ready! For people who are new to the franchise this mode is how the game SHOULD be played in my honest opinion.
Punchable Face? Poor Tom McKay, he's not that bad!
After playing and beating the game at launch, I finally went back and tried hardcore mode (all negative perks) on the first game. It is SO MUCH fun. There are a few negative perks I could do without (Numbskull turns progress into a grind) but I love the lack of fast travel and the need to truly navigate. Hardcore is just how I'm going to play both games from now on.
Just completed the game today ..defo feels like an achievement lol
This is arriving early, as I have started and are quite deep into what will be a (spoiler) map-opening quest.
I don't like to take on too many negative perks, but hardcore is a lot of fun, I think. Maybe.
Born a Mutant, numbskull, heavy footed and punchable face seems like a recipe for disaster.
Here's the hoping the next patch doesn't break the game again like the last one with issues from it still not being fixed.
