PS5 fans who’ve spent generations itching for some active reload action on the DualSense may finally get their wish at the Xbox Showcase, as connected leaker extas1s says he expects a bundle featuring the original Xbox 360 trilogy to be announced during the event.
We’ve been hearing for quite some time that Marcus Fenix is poised to make his PlayStation bow, and the long-rumoured Gears of War Collection looks like it’ll be announced within the next couple of months. Presumably, this is all designed to get PS5 owners acclimatised to the series ahead of the new game, Gears of War E-Day.
Talkative Microsoft bigwig Phil Spencer has already said that his company will start showing the logos of all target platforms during its press conferences, so there’ll be no secrecy over which software is coming to Sony’s system.
While extas1s implied he’s expecting few surprises from the show, he believes other featured titles will include Ninja Gaiden 4, the oft-discussed Persona 4 Remake, and maybe even Hollow Knight: Silksong – although he’s less confident on the anticipated Team Cherry title.
We can also probably anticipate trailers for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and Fable, while we know first-person RPG The Outer Worlds 2 will close out the event.
Obviously so much has changed with Xbox over the last year and a bit that this show will almost certainly be very relevant to PS5 owners, as we’re expecting very few all-out exclusives from Microsoft moving forwards.

That'd be neat. For anyone that's never played them, they're great shooters. Number 4, and 5 really aren't as bad as people say. Gears 5 DLC "Give Busters" was a beautiful blast.
Only interested in Persona 4 remake..Hope it shown at the showcase..
Personally I think it would a more gutsy (and meaningful) if they revealed it at the May PlayStation showcase. That would really be pulling off the bandaid. Though I can imagine that'd be like fuel to the fire for many XBox fans. I'm more curious about pricing for these older games - can see it going either way.
Hoping for this and maybe a Fable collection eventually would be nice.

I'd rather have a Fable collection because my girlfriend keeps telling me to play Fable but I don't want to have to hook the 360 up to do it so I'm betting on a collection at some point so I don't have to.
But I do like Gears, so I'll happily take one of these. I would like Gears 4 and 5 to come too though, since I've never played those.

@IronCrow86 it did for sure. I tell everyone to read the books too. They are absolutely fantastic. Not too long either. The first one in the series talks about how they all met and why it is they're bonded. Sad, but incredibly worth it.

Never played a Gears of War game, so I would take any sort of collection..... at a resonable price of course.
Talking of Rumours, but if the rumour about the Gear of War Collection not coming with multiplayer included is true then this is just another Microsoft game that myself and my usual gaming friends will be passing on. Don’t get me wrong, the campaign is good enough, but I was hoping to add to the thousands of hours that I played online with this game on the Xbox when this came to PlayStation. If it is just the campaign, it will be a pass.
One of my all time favourites series. Still clearly remember playing the first upon release. 1, 2 and 3 were amazing. 3 possibly had the best multiplayer experience out of the lot... Getting those headshots and hearing the crunch followed by Colonel Hoffman shout 'Niiice' never got old!
A platinum for each please… none of this one plat for the whole collection as we’re only able to use one launcher rubbish. Konami managed it with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, so I hope that I’m not giving Microsoft too much credit in assuming it’s something they’re capable of too.
Shame it won't come out for PS physically, I'm gonna miss out

@x3King84 It is purely my own fault buddy, I don't buy digitally (bit of a collector) so no disc no buy unfortunately although I must say this more than any title (as I have always been team blue and red) has me tempted!!
We only need the first 3 games. Judgment and gears 4&5 aren’t worth it.

@Mostik physical seems to be on the way out? I’ve moved to purely digital now and PC has been that way for years. To be honest I’m glad not to have so much clutter in the house and have a library that will follow me. I’ve never been a collector though and just see discs as a means to an end and I find digital better as more convenient to buy and play. Once the game plays it makes little difference either way.
@Mostik I’ve played it on PC GP but not overly happy with how it runs so have bought on PS5. It’s a fantastic game anyway and I’m a huge Indy fan.
@x3King84 You are spot on mate, they are dying out and will surely end some time soon. I will be getting Indy for sure, that is available on disc, I know it is a down load but I have the box for my shelf 🤦♂️
I am tempted to get a Steam Deck to cover PC releases but it would just be hooked up to the TV as it is way too big to play hand held for me!

@Mostik I’ve a Steam Deck and it’s great for handheld for certain console-like games that aren’t too demanding or older AAA. I wouldn’t recommend TV play as it’s not like a Switch. There is no performance boost. Resolution and performance is very poor on TV imo. It’s fine as a basic desktop Linux PC but not for gaming.
I’m hoping Indy gets a PS5 Pro patch… I ended up biting the bullet and trading my old model for one… even though I swore I wouldn’t…
@Bionic-Spencer Gears of war is my favorite IP in gaming and i agree it would be a shame not to have the PVP on the collection. But it makes sense that they want all the players on E-Day playing PVP. They won’t have the player base spilt and they can focus on new ideas with the PVP as E-day is a new game. I have a Series X and PS5 and would double dip this games as like i said i am a HUGE Gears fan. Can’t wait for E-day!!!

The original trilogy were great games…one of the many reasons I was glad I chose 360 over PS3 back in the day. As long as they include split screen co op for the campaign and horde mode, I’d pick this up. More interested in Master Chief, though, although talk of the collection being incomplete has cooled my enthusiasm.

I loved Gears 1 & 2 but love the rest.
Gears 2 was epic in multiplayer mode.
I much prefer the old days, when studios released NEW games.
Tired of this remake this remaster that collection.
It is starting to get like living life all over again but more expensively.
We deserve NEW and better for the prices we pay for consoles and games today, we are a bunch of mugged off gamers.
@The_Decline_99 the characters for 4 and 5 are weak sauce. The blokes in the originals trilogy are good IMO. The story felt more real. The gears trilogy is similar to the mass effect trilogy. Then there was mass effect andromeda. Clearly a different ethos.
Hopefully theyve taken out the MP achievements/trophies because 10k kills in MP is stupid

This summer is going to be hot for game trailers and presentations. Really looking forward to these showcases.
Anyone can keep saying that until it comes to fruition.
And if it does, it's digital only. Xbox doesn't have the spine to release it on a physical disc, which seeing as how we got Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, only 2/3s of the game was actually on the disc and you had to download the final 1/3. That's stupid! The Last of Us Part II had two discs. Final Fantasy VII Remake had two discs. We've reached the point where that just happens, it's not a big deal. That was the running joke when Xbox was still using DVD and PS3 had Blu-ray.
Betcha it won't see a disc release, that's what I'm saying, and that's IF they even announce it which someone says every time
@Nakatomi_Uk Oh yeah..... I forgot about that. They're saying the MP won't even exist. Single-player and co-op which is just right. Assuming it's true. Imagine a platinum trophy for Gears of War. Achievement score isn't as fun.
But I'm presently stuck on Ratchet & Clank (2016) one friggin trophy away from a platinum, you guessed it, stuck in the Rilgar race that's sluggish and broken. They had one person get the best time and said that's the trophy. It's preposterous. I was one second away and they wouldn't have mercy. They also have large gaps that should have barriers but, that's not my fault, that's the designers fault they didn't put a barrier there. I can use a jolt and hop that gap. Stupid

Great news! Unfortunately I'm still being disappointed by Microsft's decisions so far, by their lack of physical releases on PS5. Or, as is the case with Indiana Jones, release physical without the full game on disc.
@HonestHick I’m the same, it’s definitely the highlight of owning an Xbox for me now knowing I can play all my favourite games on one console.

I played Gears once it came out on PC. Unfortunately, MS ruined it with GFWL and my copy no longer works. I really hope they announce and relase a PS5 version this year.
