Microsoft has confirmed its annual Xbox Games Showcase will take place on 8th June 2025, which will be immediately followed by a livestream focusing on The Outer Worlds 2, which is already confirmed for PS5. Of course, given the firm's updated focus on multi-platform titles, many of the games shown during the showcase will end up on PS5.
"It all begins with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, bringing you a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe," the platform holder teases.
"This year, the show will be digital-only — our livestream will bring you everything you’ll need to know about what’s next for Xbox, no matter where in the world you’re watching." The livestream takes place on Sunday, 8th June 2025 at 6pm BST / 10 am PDT / 1pm EDT.
After the showcase, Microsoft will turn its attention to upcoming Obsidian RPG The Outer Worlds 2, which is slated to release this year. The show will "bring you inside the walls of Obsidian Entertainment, revealing new gameplay, details, and developer insights, straight from the people making the sequel to the award-winning, first-person sci-fi RPG".
Microsoft Gaming lead Phil Spencer said earlier this year that future Xbox livestreams will announce there and then what consoles its games will be releasing for, so you should expect the PS5 logo to appear at least a couple of times.

It's like asking if an EA livestream should be called an EA livestream.
After MS took this out of E3 I always thought of it as the "not E3 Xbox Showcase" so I guess I need to start referring to it as the "not Gamefest Xbox Showcase" now, huh. 🤷♂️
Honestly, the Xbox showcase is the closest thing to a classic E3 showcase.
I'm really hoping we get a release date for Silksong at it.
All I want to hear in a video is that gears headshot noise. So so satisfying

Hope they show more Perfect Dark, that's the one game I really want to come over to PS5.

It's still Xbox showcase, because it is a presentation about first-party content from all Xbox studios and about Game Pass. Even if every first-party game is coming to PS5.

As Liam noted in the article, they're going to say which platforms their games are on moving forwards so you'll see the PS5 logo a lot.

I always look forward to these. Since PlayStation has all but abandoned annual large-scale showcases, this is the closest thing I get each year to a traditional E3 presentation.
Previous show surprised me greatly with Ninja Gaiden 4, so I'm hoping for something similar.

I remember Phil bragging about Outer Worlds 2 being Xbox exclusive, that aged well.
I love the Outer Worlds, played it twice through and all DLC. The second game is a pretty big release for me. I just hope it's not as static as avowed and the conversations are more dynamic and cinematic style. Good high quality cutscenes would also help.
Hoping for a halo masterchief collection, gears collection, and the original fable to get ported to PS5.

Im honestly more excited for there showcase than Sonys at this point. Haven't liked what they have put out in years.

How times have changed with some saying they look forward to this more than the Sony direct thing and looking forward to Xbox studio games.
Who would have thought Sony studios would be having one major campaign AAA a year about 4 years ago when the PS5 started or back further in the PS4 days.
Now PS5 wishing games from Xbox studios and less chat about the one AAA campaign game a year from Sony themselves. Then they increase PSN prices with the excuse of saying to keep up producing high quality games, more like to pay for the GAAS mess up.

It's the other way around. MS is the one who wish to release their games on PS5 because no one buy Xbox S/X and PS5 has much bigger userbase than Xbox. MS is the one who needs PS.
Halo Infinite on PS5 would be welcome. Increase that player count!
The Microsoft showcases are becoming very good.
I'll be honest, for the last 2 years at least, Microsoft has had the best showcase of the year in terms of how interesting amd varied the games look. So now that pretty much all theor games will come to PS5, it's even more reason for everybody to watch

@PuppetMaster It's a bit of an exaggeration to say that no one buys Xbox, isn't it? And it could be a combination of both. Xbox wants to grow its sales base and Sony is releasing fewer games now, so PlayStation users might want those Xbox games.
I don't know if the intention of the title was to tease or imply that Xbox is more focused on PlayStation now, but it will obviously be an event focused on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, where some games and big games may be on PlayStation.
