@Fizza Sometimes you just have to let it go although a Devil May Cry platinum, well it is certainly beyond my skills.

@sorteddan Twice the platinum, twice the feels.
As for Helldivers, great stuff, you will have the Helldivers 2 platinum in 2030 although if Uncle Jim (are these ceos our Uncles?!) get his way you will still be playing it on a PS10.

@colonelkilgore Just watching Avatar in prep for Far Cry Pandora. Pretty entertaining stuff (only an hour in), but jeez 3 hours long, I could have platinum Endling twice in that time.

@CaptD It's a sunk-cost fallacy; I've put too much time in to quit now XD

@sorteddan 2nd of the month?!?! C’mon dude, you’re better than that. 😎 Nah, congrats mate, particularly on Helldivers (something that I really need to make a start on)… a strong start to the month.

@CaptD nice mate, I remember us chatting about it a while back. The sequel was even a bit better iirc, so you’ll also have that to look forward to prior to the Ubisoft take. Let me know your thoughts once you’ve watched them both.

@sorteddan @colonelkilgore Thanks for the support guys, I know I will get there eventually 👊

@Fizza Sounds like you are in a similar boat with DMC. It's been many a year since I've played a DMC game but good luck, you know it will be worth the effort.

@sorteddan Congrats on that trio, especially Helldivers - that sounds like one beast of a platinum time wise.

@render Thanks!
@colonelkilgore That sounds good. Will probably do a critical path with some exploration in FC6. Big fan of Giancarlo!
@sorteddan @CaptD One of those days I tell you & yeah I would’ve had that beautiful trinket by now if I had just played the regular version.

It's taken me since May, but I'm closing in on the Humanity platinum now. I can smell it.

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@Gremio108 I love the smell of platinum in the morning… or early afternoon in this case 😎.

...
Not so keen on the smell of humanity though.

@sorteddan All this talk of UFOs at the moment, you would have thought they would open the hanger doors (or beam down) take one whiff and say "it don't half pen n ink here, we're off"

(Yes the aliens came from the planet Cock-A-Ney)

@colonelkilgore @sorteddan got it last night. One of my proudest platinums this one. I was determined to do it without looking anything up. There were some roadblocks along the way, but I got there eventually. It's probably my favourite puzzler on the PS5 (although The Pedestrian was good as well) and maybe my favourite I've played since Portal 2.

I can confirm it does indeed smell good.

@Gremio108 congrats dude… and really flare those nostrils to take it all in 👃 (and yes that actually is a nose apparently ☺️).

#178 Operation Tango (PS5)
Interesting idea for cooperative online play - having to rely on communication and problem solving. Only made me swear at one of my best friends a couple of times, made me chuckle a couple more and quite a feeling of relief when you get to the end of each mission. Made quite a nice change anyhow.

colonelkilgore

@sorteddan congrats buddy. I played this with a dude I’ve never actually met… and only ever talked for the first time during Operation Tango. Needless to say, we were both on our best behaviour… but I (& I’d imagine he too) was absolutely EXHAUSTED at the end of both of the two sessions.

Cheers @colonelkilgore
Have you played any of the 'We were here' series?
Seems like a similar type experience and am thinking of picking up the first one, given its currently about 30p in the sale!

colonelkilgore

@sorteddan yeah we played the first two We Were Here games not long after we played Operation Tango. They are similar… if simpler tbh (though there was the odd challenge here and there). We’ve been meaning to play the next two installments since then but have struggled to find a time that fits for us both.

I have the We Were Here and Operation Tango games if anyone fancies playing them.

Latest Plats...
It takes two (baby). Excellent game and worthy of being a game of the year.
Not an easy game and there are tricky bits but there is so much variety in the gameplay that you keep coming back for more. Difficulty 4/10.

The Ascent. Oh dear what a missed opportunity, fantastic looking blade runner inspired world. However the boring repetitive fetch quests really bring it down which is such a shame as you can see how much effort went into the game.
I wonder if an over the shoulder viewpoint and a more Returnal type gameplay would have been a better game, certainly the weapons and gadgets look and sound great. Of course that would break two player coop as split screen would be required and we all know a certain machine isn't capable of that (put those pitchforks down...it's a joke).
Difficulty 3/10. Worth playing just for the world and the awesome atmospheric soundtrack.

@sorteddan @CaptD Nice one on those latest plats.

@CaptD Loved It Takes Two, what a game!! I'm still tempted to play through the PS4 version just to give it another go.

colonelkilgore

@CaptD congrats buddy. Yeah I loved It Takes Two also, was a joy to play through it with the missus… not sure that joy would be the word that she’d use though 🤣.

@CaptD
Good stuff.
Reassuring to know I wasn't the only one who felt The Ascent was just a bit meh.
