Sony took us one step closer to knowing anything and everything about the upcoming PlayStation 5 with a full teardown video earlier this week. While there wasn't a long, long list of new next-gen details to unpack, we still learned a couple of interesting pieces of information. So, as all of that was digested, how closely were you watching the PS5 teardown video? Did you pick up on everything Sony had to say or were you not paying attention? Put your knowledge to the test in the latest Push Square quiz.

7/10, but a few were given away in the images
8/10, what the actual f**k with the last question :'D
Wow busy Weekend Gents .........not complaining just the weekend is usually quiet in Push Square Towers.
"Where is the screw connecting the PS5 to its stand stored when the console is places horizontally?" nobody should get that wrong.
5/10.
I got 10/10, but I can't say I'm particularly proud of the accomplishment.
8/10 ... like I counted the pieces or knew those were all screwdrivers or not.
@SilenceCZ I can't say I was certain on the last question, but I thought I could remember, but I could think of at least 18.
I also couldn't be certain what was last between the heatsink and the PSU…
8/10. Maybe its just me, but there's something kind of fun about how the PS5 is put together.
@theheadofabroom Exactly those are the 2 questions I haven't managed
I'm pretty sure that the PSU was last, straight after the heatsink
Recount! 😁
@zupertramp
I got the same! I even looked at the image and thought the thin one was some type of bar to pry something open, if needed. 😂
9/10,couldnt remember the heat sink being last! Thanks for the two easy ones though
4/10.I was pretty sure he said to hoover the dust on thursdays..damn.
I knew most of them but clicked wrong. Guessed a couple and got them right... Wut
8/10.
The last question!. Should have been
@Medic_Alert
True if that option was there I will have pick it!.
And its the part where you turn on the ps5
9/10 woot woot
7/10. I'm proud of that score since I didn't actually watch the video.
Heatsink wasn`t the last part ! I have gotten 8 because of it.
Ironic that whoever wrote this quiz didn't watch it themselves as the heatsink isn't the last thing to be pulled out, it's the power supply followed by the last remaining piece of the case, yet whoever watched this video seemed to think it was the heatsink so I got 9/10 😂😂
7/10 woohoo not too shabby
I got 8/10 and one of the questions was "Which component was taken out last" It gave you 4 options and I said the "Power Supply Unit" from what I remembered from the tear down, and I got it wrong. It said the "heat sink". I went back to the video and the last thing to be taken out was indeed the power supply. So whoever did this so-called questionnaire didn't do a very good job with that question.
8/10 I'm taking the power supply answer since I know it was last.
Can't wait for the inevitable PS5 UI quiz.
The heatsink question is based on it being the final component that was explained along with a caption on-screen. I've changed the answer now.
Question 10 is wrong, it was actually broken down into way more components than 22. All the antennae were removed and the fan vents, as well as the backplate heat sink. Also there are 4 mental plates that act as EM guards that were removed. I'll let you off though as there's loads of tiny components... and let's not forget the screws.
6. Should I be proud or disappointed
@SirAngry I was just considering what was laid out at the end
@theheadofabroom it had to be a lucky guess on the last question lol otherwise, i applaud you
@LexVVTi yeah, as I say, I could think of 18, so guessed 20
7/10, didn't even watch, just read the article.
You can cheat:
Watch the video again and then whilst the video is playing, answer the questions.
Off the top of my head:
X2 side panels
X2 vent inlets
X1 fan guard
X1 fan
X1 WiFi 6 antenna
X1 Blu-tooth 5 antenna
X1 heatsink
X1 motherboard
X1 Blu-Ray drive (did he separate the EM guard?)
X1 PSU
X1 backplate EM guard with integral heat pipe
X1 backplate heatsink
X1 Front plate EM guard
X1 heatsink rear bracing attachment
X1 Rear APU guard
X1 chassis spine for fan housing
X1 Main chassis for motherboard mounting
X1 SSD EM Guard
X4 Smaller EM guards (gawd knows what they covered)
X1 Front panel
X1 stand
...
And I'm sure there's stuff I missed, not counting screws though, because not even I'm that obsessive. lol. So I can think of 26 components, and knowing Sony products there's probably more EM guards I've forgotten as well. The original fat PS3 was well over engineered in that regard too.
I like how he laid the parts out, I would need a printed mat to be that neat. I think it would make a really cool poster for a wall.
@SirAngry The question is purely based off of how many pieces are placed in front of Ootori at the end, excluding screws and tiny pieces.
10/10 but I honestly guessed the 1st and last question and a couple literally showed you the answers in the picture...lol...
@LiamCroft I really wasn't being serious. But that thing was torn down into more than the components I can remember. I know it's probably well over engineered like all first generation Sony consoles... although I've never fully understood that phrase... and man, no one should be expected to count the amount of screws in that bloody thing.
That was tough. 😂 I got 6/10, though I was close to the right answer for 2. Honest gov
@SirAngry if the phrase you're unsure of is over-engineering, its originally about engineering something to be far more robust than required to meet the spec. Think like Victorian iron bridges where they couldn't really guarantee against faults in the iron casting process so they'd use ten times as much iron as they needed to make up for it, and consequently the things are likely to last a few more centuries at least.
9/10. Nice. Didn't get the number of parts right tho
I heard that if you reassemble the machine a specific way it will take us all into a different timeline where Hideo Kojima is Supreme Leader of the Republic of Earth.
Yea I said 4 USB because that what it is. Replied too fast
10/10 I’ve always wanted to get a 100% on a test.
@SilenceCZ @SilenceCZ Push Square seriously thought that we were going to sit there and count up all of the disassembled pieces after the teardown was finished. They are even crazier than the people that actually did that.
8/10 ... sorry I didn't see that video yet.
9/10 my heart said 20 but I pressed 22
@zupertramp That's the same 2 I got wrong
8/10 would of been 9 but I chose heat sink instead of power supply as I tapped it I knew I was wrong but to late and the last question I didn’t think to count the pieces.
3 out of 10. Not bad.
The tiny screwdriver is a precision screwdriver...the small ones with the ends that rotate so you can apply bodyweight pressure to hold it secure, yet still rotate without stripping the screw head. Anyone who ever changed a PS3 HDD should be familiar with them, since the screws holding the HDD in were prone to stripping without a precision screwdriver.
8/10 missing a screwdriver and I thought it had less parts. Impressive piece of engineering, hope it works well on its side 👍😎
I am calling ***** on the first question there isn't 5 screwdrivers!!! Theres 4 Screwdrivers and a pair of tweezers to get the warranty stickers off!!!
Yeah, 10/10. I had to guess the last one though. At last a decent score, i only usually get about 4/10 in these quizzes.
9/10. Really didn't know there were 3 USB - A ports... Cool stuff either way.
