This is so idiotic, and people defending this must have some screws loose 1. You don't have to buy anything from an online service, its recreational. Whats next? People buying a subscription to a streaming service only to turn around and sue claiming netflix, amazon, disney plus etc somehow preyed on them? 2. Literally everyone has a online store with items priced at market value depending on the region and the devs. Sometimes there can be deals behind the scenes but last I checked Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and others all sell games at market price. Stuff in stores cost the same as they do online, and are also taxed the same. 3. If they were really worried about consumers and monopolies why is Microsoft buying everything and everyone ok? Competition is healthy. Not only that, but food, rent, medicine stuff that is ya know actually required to live is getting out of hand...but nah let's sue a company selling games because.....somehow people not being able to control their wallets in a digital store instead of going into a physical one for the exact same thing is...predatory? OK then 👌 Why not actually do something worthwhile?
@SlySnake0407 You should look up why the developers have never succumbed to people who cry loudly, then. They have asked the mind behind it all more than once. It isn't as simple as you describe, and makes a lot of sense. Long story short to do what you are suggesting cheats not only their visions but it would result in people cheating themselves, too. People overcome challenges all day everyday if they want to badly enough. If people don't want to they can go elsewhere, and that is ok. I think the problem is ego
For some reason people would rather have something handed to them than to actually learn and succeed. Few games force you to do this, and fewer still really are all that challenging. That is why these games have a following. They're unique, and the day they change that for appeasement is the day they actually lose out, of that I'm sure of. Especially since honestly they aren't that overwhelming.
@SarcasticPeanut it would actually be far more disrespectful to change something for the sake of sales. Games are a artform, and to destroy the works of another developer for a few bucks that aren't even guaranteed would be pretty asinine. Especially since these games are not that difficult, the whole point is to struggle, get up, learn and try again. Anyone can do that they just don't want to, and I believe that is why soul's games have never had a easy mode. Doesn't need it.
Good. Doesn't need an easy mode. I think people that complain don't realize that the whole point of the game is to overcome great obstacles. Honestly the game might not be for everyone, and it doesn't have to be. I think people are too willing to roll over, and give up when it comes to gaming. Also journalists and people literally scream about this same issue every single time a souls game comes out.
@LiamCroft pretty easy to do when you have people grouped off. Personally it takes me less than two seconds. People I talk to are in personal lists according to what game we play. But there again I might be more orderly than the average bear so perhaps I'm an exception.
@dellyrascal honestly I think it was done to make it so ps4 players can still easily hook up with their friends who have a ps5. I suspect changes will happen eventually as with anything else, though. I'm trying to understand peoples complaints, but am having a hard time doing so because I find the chat system to be so simple. Just invite who you want to talk to and go on with your day. But maybe people wanted more than that? Not sure.
@MFTWrecks I'm confused. You don't have to remain connected to anyone if you don't want to. When you want to chat just set up a group. Don't want to chat? Don't set up a group. Perhaps you're overcomplicating it, mate. Seems most are.
Actually me and my gaming buds took to it just fine. Initially when it was released we had issues seeing who was online, etc but this doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I'm actually digging the UI and can't wait to explore it further on my Ps5. Me and my pals already have a group message going so we can talk when we want to. Everything just seems more simplistic now, but it is an adjustment. Don't understand every complaint myself, in my view I don't see why someone would want to chat with another that they actually don't want to be friends with. Seeing messages shouldn't be a issue, unless you're a possible d bag
@Fenbops On the contrary they have shown plenty. Before we even knew what the system looked like we saw a comparison between the ps4 pro and a early version of the ps5 running spiderman. They have shown other games as well, and even third party devs have shown off its speed, and have talked about what they have been able to do with it. I would suggest checking YouTube. You will find stuff there
There has been a lot of random Sony hate and clickbaity type stuff from Push Square lately I have noticed. But it seems the author didn't do their research, as much of their complaints were already answered. More than once actually. So I'm kinda lost as to what the griping is about. Tbh I know more than enough, and already pre-ordered mine. Sony is in a position of power, and are set to capitalize on the installment base they built this gen. They aren't overmarketing like Microsoft because they don't need to. Confidence is quiet. Those who are bragging often are the ones who don't feel secure. Unlike their competitor they also will have launch titles. They are in a good spot. Seems this gen will just be PC, Sony, and Nintendo for me once more.
@TheFrenchiestFry https://www.gamespot.com/articles/15-timed-xbox-console-exclusives-announced/1100-6480080/ their last showcase had several timed exclusives. Like I said they're one of the originators, but I dont see anything wrong with it really, unless you just use it as a crutch like they often seem to do. All in all its just a thing now. As for Spiderman, I believe the devs actually didnt want to use Insominiacs because they're making their own story and version of avengers. It was an option. There was some sort of interview. Makes sense to want to distance yourself from the work of others. Gotta spread your wings somehow. I for one am quite glad that they're forgoing the movies, more than anything though.
@Octane Microsoft basically invented timed exclusivity, its one of the reasons why I left them behind. I got tired of them using it to hide the fact that they had nothing to play, was never a fan anyway so it was an easy decision.
It's also already confirmed that timed deals are still continuing with the next xbox. Honestly though, everyone does it. So gamers trying to have some outrage cry over this are misguided at best. Its nonsense if you ask me. Wont harm these entities anyway. If outrage really hurt them places like EA would've shuttered long ago.
@TheFrenchiestFry Xbox kinda invented timed exclusivity actually. They're still doing it now. Was essentially all they did this gen too, honestly. Frankly now a days its getting to be common practice.
If memory serves Sony owns much of Spiderman, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that Marvel wants to maintain their good working relationship. I'm also not seeing the big deal. Stuff like this happens soooo much in the industry, period. But people are crickets then. Why is this one time so special? Idk its just weird that gamers aren't consistent with their outrage, even when its stupid.
