Re: Don't Expect Assassin's Creed Valhalla to Run at 60 Frames-Per-Second on PS5

I remember very similar issues being raised around the PS4's and XBox One's launch with AC Black Flag. Only Black Flag was 720p for all four consoles it released on. If I recall, the PS4 received a patch to push the resolution to 1080p a little later. My point is, there are always hiccups in the early life of a console generation - it's just coincidence that then and now it's Ubisoft with an Assassin's Creed game not reaching a standard we all expected with the new generation of consoles.

I wouldn't be surprised if they make Resi 3: Nemesis DLC for this game. I loved that game on PS1. It would be great playing through that again with an engine that looks this slick. The game was always criticised for being so much shorter than 2 so would make for an excellent DLC story expansion. Plus they'd be able to sell it as the Raccoon City Edition further down the line in the same vein as their Gold editions.

Re: Lara Croft Steps Out of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Tomorrow

To be honest, I enjoyed Rise but for the life of me I don't remember the plot that well. The gameplay outshone the story, sure, but it was a solid game. I think it would've been a worse game if the PS4 release was the bare-bones one the XBONE received. I hope Shadow hasn't any of that timed-exclusivity nonsense either. But I've enjoyed Tomb Raider games since the original on the PS1 so maybe I'm a little biased towards Lara's adventures. The perfect end to the origin trilogy would be best if she starts doing more tomb raiding... Puzzles, lost cities, treasures, and maybe less human opponents?

Re: Soapbox: Don't Dismiss Bloodborne Because of Its Difficulty

My first impressions of the game when I picked up the GOTY version about a month ago was that it was fun, but needlessly difficult. So I started over with a new character and proceeded to die a few dozen times more until, finally, something clicked and I became the slayer, not the slayed. Maybe I got better at dodging attacks, or I learned to read their attacks better. In any case, I find my self on the bridge where two werewolves are prowling up and down. My first two attempts saw me get torn to shreds in seconds. My third attempt was not something I felt particularly proud of, but I deemed it necessary to progress to the next area. SPOILER ALERT (maybe, it's quite near the start, but heed the warning nonetheless)! I sprinted past the werewolves, past a few more "uglies" in the hope that the church up ahead will be a safe spot for my character to rest. Cue impending doom music and a HUGE creature descending the tower. Heart racing, I read on the screen that this is the Cleric Beast. Well, I thought, I'm doomed. After about 20 mins, a whole lot of healing potions (can't recall their name now) and a few liters of sweat falling from my brows I managed to kill it on the first try. I won't easily forget that fight. I do, however, still need to defeat Father G....
