Unfortunately I am part of the problem because I will be buying it physically on Switch (if it is all on the cart that is). Buying it for $50USD on PS4 seems a little silly, however. If only full BC was a thing.
I was immensely disappointed until I thought about how often I would play this mode; once. I think I can live without it if they now put all that effort into balance and features for the game we know Overwatch to be, but that part is in serious doubt
Why is it that every game I get addicted to recently is run by either chimpanzees (Dead by Daylight), people who have no idea what they are doing (Evil Dead), lazy devs in it for the money (Predator) or all of the above (Overwatch)? I miss my FFXIV addiction.
Wasn’t the game only on Series for Xbox? No Xbox One? That would affect things a little as well. Maybe not a whole lot but worth taking into consideration all the same!
@Jey887 Junker Queen and Ramattra are both awesome and fun / unique gameplay wise. I also really like Kiriko precisely because she is the dumbest thing ever with the most spammable voice lines in the game since Junkrat.
For me, something becomes retro not only by age but by how games are designed and the PS3 very much feels retro in how things are designed. Where the PS5 feels like a continuation of the PS4 era the PS4 never truly felt like a continuation of the PS3 (outside of cross gen games, of course).
It’s an interesting topic and one that people can be pretty stubborn on, most don’t see anything past SNES as retro for example.
Long story short, I consider it retro myself, but from the looks of things it’ll be the last generation I consider retro and not just old. Unless the PS6+ changes things up again to give the games their own feel that sets it apart from the prior generations.
They have been deep diving with lore since they started their battle pass system, with each season adding new lore to characters and their universe, so there is immense potential. Whether this will be a movie the casual fan or average person who knows the game will be into we’ll have to see.
The lore in-game is very interdimensional and kinda Lovecraftian in spots with the Entity and people trying to understand it so I have hopes it’ll be neat but expectations it’ll be a slasher flick. Maybe with a Groundhog Day style reliving the same events twist or something.
Defeated the first big bad earlier today and so far it’s looking like a 6-7 to me. I am greatly enjoying it, all the same, but I may find myself skipping side content going forward as it’s all just the same thing.
I find it kinda disappointing that they didn’t fill the world as you went, considering I thought they said defeating the big bads would clear the Break from their domains. Missed opportunity for a bit more life, me thinks.
I also like Cuff, he’s the only character I like so far. Reminds me of Wheatley from Portal 2.
My only fear when it comes to this game is that this is an uncomfortable scene in an uncomfortable game. Changing stuff like that I feel kinda defeats the purpose as there is a whole lot of “yikes” in this game, so much so that I feel people who don’t know may not be ready for it. I am surprised we were back in 2001, honestly.
Back in the day Conker was the only console game I ever saw with a big content disclaimer on it. Might be wise to have that here if things do really remain totally unchanged.
@RBMango That scene in the trailer is the first instance of this, the real “Oh yeah, that is what he is doing to it” is when you fight him in the stairwell. Could be that one they are talking about as the first one could be seen as more ambiguous than the second one is.
Started getting strange connection issues I've never had before downloading the update. Trying to play a game gives me the "Can't download your saved data CE-116799-3" error. Waiting a bit will get rid of it but if a game needs to connect to PSN it just won't. I did my connection tests and restarted the PS5 multiple times.
I just managed to get into Final Fantasy XIV now but I hope it doesn't stay a recurring thing, so far I found the PS5's wifi to be fickle and die quite easily for some reason.

Re: Red Dead Redemption PS4 Announcement Gets Slaughtered by Fans
@NotSoCryptic but not PS3, which is why people are being charged $50 to play this game on PS4 / 5.
