The ads don't look majorly intrusive and don't seem to have any detriment on the gameplay.
I consider this sometimes, saving my Saturday day job wages for a few weeks to buy Street Fighter 2 CE on my mega drive. That was £60 in the early 90's.
Since then the production and marketing costs of computer/video games have risen from hundreds of thousands to, in some cases for AAA titles, hundreds of millions yet we're still paying about £60 RRP for those AAA titles. There are also ongoing support costs for games nowadays (especially in EA's case 😂) that wouldn't have been incurred in the past to boot. I do think that sometimes additional sources of revenue to offset the enormous increases in the cost of the release and support of a game may be justifiable.
What infuriates me however is the cynical fleecing of gamers with predatory fervour, gatcha mechanics and other abominations requiring real world money that have become prolific in mobile games appearing in full price console purchases, not just the free to play stuff.
@nessisonett haha yeah you do get a lot of flack. You really have to be in the zone on some of the more difficult boss fights, and those who only play dps don't appreciate that. The tank is tough to get just right too. Without a good tank the white mage is toast.
I find it very satisfying just helping out too, look for some new guy struggling with mobs and follow them about for a while just healing. Like a stalker, more helpful but possibly equally as intimidating. Same philosophy goes for smiling at people on trains and saying that the seat next to you is for them. You're being ultra helpful but in the end you end up with a free seat next to you all the way to Cannon Street.
@BNAG_Gamer For me the remake scratched an itch nostalgia wise and was fun to play, but utimately it could never satisfy me fully until it's the finished article. I am interested in seeing what they do with the story too.
I didn't dislike the PS3 final fantasies, but I agree that they weren't a patch on the earlier ones (all the way up to XII). That being said XIV is outstanding, but I can no longer dedicate the time required to enjoy it. I was white mage all the way. A lot of pressure, and you can get a lot of hate on a bad day but when things are going well everyone loves you.
What is the possibility of Project Athia being Final Fantasy 7 Remake p2, d'yareckon? Just wonderin' like, because if you squint and kinda look sideways and then spin around and do a double take, the charatcer in the screenshot released could possibly look a little like Vincent Valentine maybe... 🤔
I'll pick up the freebie, although I think it will best played with friends online.
I really enjoyed what I could play on the gamecube, the graphics were great and the gameplay was unexpected having only played the mainline Final Fantasy games before that, I really liked it.
I didn't get to experience the game fully though. If I recall couch co-op was pretty much mandatory to take advantage of spell combinations and the like.
@Cloud7794 if you're remote playing using the Vita, set up a second account on your ps4, then reset your vita and associate it with the second account. Then when you load up a game on your ps4 using your original account you can use remote play on the vita to view the game and continue to use your ds4. I got myself a phone holder for my ds4 big enough to hold my vita and it changed my gaming life, I couldn't stand using remote play with the vita's buttons. One thing however is that the screen on the vita goes dark after a while as the second account isn't being used, but I get around that by sticking a bit of blu-tac under the right stick to keep it pointing upwards. I get a mostly flawless experience when I've got my ps4 wired to the ethernet switch in my living room. When I put on some decent headphones it's a brilliant way to play games when I can't use the television.
@Furious-Fingers The only advice I could give would be play calmly, don't mash the buttons. Even hammering dodge will only be detrimental to your effectiveness in combat. Watch what the enemies are doing and learn their attack patterns and their tells.
I think that first part at Yharnam is almost like a baptism of fire that teaches you that button mashing will get you nowhere. Learn the weapon combos, the transformation attack combo for the saw cleaver helped me a great deal. If I recall I particularly liked R1, L1, R1. Don't ignore your items either.
