@charbtronic I don't see how this is a backtrack? That Bloomberg article wasn't put out by Sony it was just a report by someone who as much as they are an insider won't ever have the full picture. This can't really be backtracking if Sony haven't ever come out and said "We only want to make blockbusters"

@Dezzy70 AFAIK the plan is to basically have the game running in BC mode for next gen untill the proper full fat next gen version releases next year.

@Tharsman It was people trusting some random dude with a thousand or so followers on Twitter who said it would be Monday 13th. Lord knows why people thought they would wait all this time to announce the price then just drop it out of nowhere. They're waiting for MS and MS are waiting for Sony. It's one big game of corporate chicken.

I don't really know what it's structure was before to judge whether this is good or not. It seemed to be single and multiplayer blended anyway. Still interested because the ship combat in UBI games is always really fun.

@Kidfried Far Cry 4 didn't hold a candle to 2 and 3 for me and was the beginning of the downward slope. I hope they've switched things up for this game both in gameplay terms and plot terms.

Here's hoping this is just 2K being greedy and not the general trend that next gen games will take. They already pack this game full of predatory microtransactions there is no way that this price hike is necessary for the game to profit.

2K is below even EA (who have been improving) in my mind when it comes to anticonsumer practises.

@NoxAeturnus Just as a note PSVR is pretty underutilised resolution wise on PS4. It's being held back by the 7 year old hardware. Not many big games use the native resolution of the headset as it's too performance intensive. PS5 should see a bump in resolution on PSVR1 before PSVR2 comes along.

Honestly I'm not going to get this unless it has VR support. Playing Dirt Rally, Driveclub VR and even the VR sections of GT Sport has made me realise that I'm not enough of a GT fan to buy it without VR.

@Blaster_master Calm down a bit mate. Looks are subjective I love it but it is clearly divisive. Also what how does the way it looks and the fact that it glows blue mean you're switching to Xbox and PC. BC is already confirmed why mention it again? Let's be honest here you were never really getting a PS5 if that's what turns you off it.

@redd214 @Makina But I would guess DLC carries over. Also they suggested before that there would be a PS5 version but couldn't confirm how it would work. Now they are confirming a free upgrade which sounds like they have confirmation from Sony that this will be possible.
I also don't think this means Bloodborne will be free or any other SIE game I'm just glad that it likely means other 3rd party games like Valhalla and CP2077 will be upgradeable.

Thank the lord that this confirms the Sony version of Smart delivery. I was worried they were making a real blunder with the Bloodborne rumours suggesting a PS5 remaster.

@Larrymccarthy If you want to keep it fresh then don't watch any footage they put out? Pretty self explanatory.

@grahamd That's not really what it means at all? Microsoft are offering free upgrade so quite frankly Sony needs to do the same or a lot of people will abandon them as happened to Microsoft at the start of last gen. It would be very anticonsumer to do what you're suggesting. Might even put me off getting one.

@avenovah I get that their Backwards compat is better but that doesn't really matter if all your games are playstation games. Its great that they're doing this as it forces Sony to up their games but I don't think it's as big of a drawing point for the general gamer.

@InsertUsername it's simply a case of time zones making it easier to work with (because this is work not a normal beta test) local people. Stop being so entitled.

@darksoul77 I'd take that bet. This gen is going to be so much closer. Think where Msoft was at this point last gen how much their strategy was in disarray and the sales are just over double. Series X looks a beast and if they do try to undercut Sony in price terms (by taking a loss) then don't be surprised if Msoft come out on top this gen. It certainly won't be the dominance that Sony has with PS4.

@Akimi at the time CD projekt were much smaller Witcher 3 is what really catapulted them into the big time and cyberpunk 2077 is a new (to gaming) IP. Bethesda are much bigger and elder Scrolls is huge hence why the hysteria and questions have been upped.

@RogerRoger I think the big problem here is they blew their load and announced too early. Really shouldn't have announced ES6 before they had even started making it. What other game gets announced 7/8 years before release? You can understand why people are starved for news.

@tatsumi Joel didn't have regenerative health. There were medkits instead.
