We hope you like Bethesda games, because they make up the bulk of this month's PS Plus Extra and Premium offerings. Might this business decision be down to some kind of big deal that's happening elsewhere in the industry? Hmmm, sounds like a conspiracy to us...
So, Extra continues to be pretty good value as far as we're concerned. DOOM Eternal, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and The Evil Within — all very well received games — join Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Riders Republic, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and more.
PS Plus Premium, meanwhile, is a bit of an eyebrow raiser in April. We've got a whole lot of DOOM, and, er, Dishonored: Definitive Edition. What were we saying about Bethesda again?
It's time to ask, then: what do you think of April's PS Plus Extra and Premium games? Are you happy with them, or is it a bit of a lopsided collection? Have your say in our polls, and then explain yourself in the comments section below.

im not happy so many games are leaving
32 games including spiderman a Sony first party game ?
@trev666 That's why I've dropped to the basic tier from next March.
It's really not worth the extra cost.
Perosnally it's the worse month yet, I've played the majority of them already and the others I'm not interested in, first month I've been dissapointed with the Extra tier additions. And Sackboy we just got with the Essential selection.
Nothing for me this month, but I don't even have the time to play all the plus game I already have access to, so I don't mind.
Kena is the only game that I know I'll play. I don't play many FPS games and I've tried Doom multiple times and never clicked with it. It's an awful Premium month for me because of that and I already own Dishonored. I wish Sony will get around to emulating some PS2 games soon.
This is probably the first month for me where the extra tier isn't that strong, but I never got around to playing Monster Boy so I'm looking forward to that.
It's genuinly nice of Bethesda to include Evil Within, Wolfenstein, Dishonored and DOOM Eternal on Extra regardless if already done them all years ago before the acquisition. It would just seem a real negative though to include all these on a PS Plus Extra subscription now but then only to have all their potential sequels exclusive to only Xbox. Taking this as a good sign that these potential sequels in the future might just actually come to PS but then have all the brand new Bethesda IP like HiFiRush, Redfail and Starfield all Exclusive, makes sense?
Since I've had Extra, I've still spent way more time on the games I've bought over the years. Old stuff getting the nod ahead of unplayed AAA on Extra quite often.
It's a great selection of games on there, and I got a free upgrade to 2026 so it's not costing me anything more right now, but still not an outcome I was expecting.
@GoodGame extra has a lot of worth, but maybe it's not intended for everyone. For me it's giving me a tremendous value.
Some games leave, some games come, it's the way it works, not a great drama, but the amount of games you can play it's crazy.
Maybe it's not so good deal for people that buy games just on day one, but for me that I usually wait some months and have a considerable backlog it's fantastic.
It’s certainly one of the weakest months in a while for me
Something interesting to note, Slay the Spire was previously removed from the sub only to return this month. So it's possible for games that were removed to come back.
I already have access to the Beth games on the Xbox side, but it will be fun to play Kena and Sackboy. I'm still grandfathered in at the original PSNow price so I'll ride it as long as they'll give it to me.
It’s a good batch, even if it’s got nothing for me. I hope Kena gets a wider audience for this. I really enjoyed that little title.
Still not the games people want from retro. More RPGS please preferably PS2
ps+ extra is crazy, I started yakuza like a dragon like 6 weeks ago and still have a good bit to play. would take me well over a year to get through everything id like to play on plus, so for me its great value even if this month isnt the best. looking forward to try out Kena though
Besides TES games upto Oblivion and Fallout 3, theres not really any other Bethesda game I actually like....suppose Skyrim is ok but was a massive let down for me. So the Bethesda lineup for this Month I have zero interest in. I am considering dropping back down to just standard tier when my premium sub ends as I realised I dont like renting games on a subscription service. I prefer buying a game I wanna play so the likes of PS Plus Extra/Premium & Gamepass are just a waste of cash for me.
It's all.the great games leaving that I'm.botnered about
They’re great games, but I already played most of them via game pass so I’ll play kena and monster boy for sure.
Doom eternal is great game, but be warned if your going for platinum your in a for long irritating time, about 60% of trophies in single player are bugged like crazy, and the multiplayer trophies are long boring grind.
But if you don't care about trophies is mental metal violence
I have played nearly all of them at some point but to be honest I downgraded to Essential a few days ago.It takes me so long to get through one game and that's not including the games in my backlog so overall I don't think I'm getting my moneys worth.
I'm not unhappy - I'll probably give Kena a go. I'm still playing Untitled Goose Game, to be honest, so I'm fine.
Still using Essential, no need for Extra or Premium. And Essential actually only for playing CoD online and fighting games here and there.
Too much doom no classic PlayStation so it’s a dud month for me.
I'm a big Bethesda fan so I'm happy for the majority of it, yet I own the original Doom lot and Dishonored
I've got Gamepass, so nothing much for me. And for some reason I just can't get into Bethesda games
Kena is worth giving a go.
@Total_Weirdo eh? All these games were released on the playstation before bethesda were bought. Any new games from bethesda are most likley going to be only on xbox. These titles will remain on the playstation. I dont understand how this makes sony look crap..
Kena and Monster Boy plus Sackboy from essential... I consider getting 3 games I gonna play good value
I'm mostly happy, I'd be happier if they'd already released on Extra today, as I was looking for something new and chill to play before the NBA Playoffs and I couldn't find anything I wanted to try, but Kena or Riders Republic would have been perfect 😬😁
Getting that spring feeling so some easy pick up and play games are perfect for this time of year, I'm pretty much resigned to not getting stuck in to any big meaty RPGs or open worlds for the time being, tempted to retry or finish off Spider-Man before it leaves the service though 🕸️
@Total_Weirdo These Bethesda games were already on playstation before Microsoft bought them so....
What games that are already on xbox do you want playstation to put into gamepass?
Dishonored, Kena, Wolfenstein, and some Doom looks good. Dishonored, PS3, was a rental near release that I only played a few hours and never finished it. I remember liking it some but that's about all I remember.
@Ravix Luckily I've just finished the story section of Spider Man, but I'm bot bothered about doing the extras
I'm excited for Kena since I never ended up getting it, but always wanted to play it.
@Loamy That's one I'm gonna play because I haven't played it before and I've heard excellent things about the game!
@djhegzy Same here! There are so many games I haven't played, it would take me quite a few months to fully complete the majority of them.
No time to play multiple games at once, tbh.
I stick to basic PS plus and purchase games I really want to play.
Demos help with decisions greatly, by the way.
There’s some good games in there but similar to what they did with Ubisoft they dropped too many of the same games at one time. I’m sure that’s easier, and probably cheaper, to negotiate but would be far better spaced out.
Moreover I’ve played almost everything I want to off that list.Objectively not a bad list, but personally not great for me.
No bother though, you can’t win them all and I will be busy with other things the next few months
@Total_Weirdo may be wrong but I seem to remember Sony trying to get a version of the ps store onto Xbox years ago and ms said no 🤷♂️
I still think PREMIUM tier is for streaming games and not getting old games. And for me it's ok like this. Many times I stream large games what I do not want to download or I just want to try. For example yesterday I played again with Marvels Avengers. Another 20 min was more than enough But if I downloading it it occupy space on SSD and it takes some time.
What i do not understand there are many PS3 games what really good and underrated, Enslaved, The Bureau: Xcom Declassified and many more, why not including those ones too?
@LP09 i'm thinking the opposite. I subscribe to extra and there is always something for me to play untill one of the big games i want gets released. It is saving me a lot of money as i've played quite a few that i would have bought but having them on extra is a bonus. Do i think its killed the value of games? No as most of the games on these subs have usually been discounted a fair bit anyway. If anybodys worried about games being devalued then just buy them full price and do your bit to preserve their integrity. Do you have an active sub? Do you buy games in sales? One could argue if you answer yes to one or both you are helping devalue the games overall intrinsic value..
I think there are some great games on extra this month but played to them all. Kena is highly recommended
Will probably give the Wolfenstein games another run, because killing Nazis as the terrorbilly is super fun
I already redeemed Sackboy: A Big Adventure, despite already owning a physical copy.
As for the other games, I already own them either physically or digitally.
I'll go Kena, Monster Boy and Riders Republic.
