Well, it's here! After a couple of delays and a lot of heated discussions online, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has arrived on PS5. The co-op enabled action shooter has split opinion ever since its gameplay reveal, and confirmation of livr service elements only added fuel to the ongoing fire. The all-important question, then, is are you playing Suicide Squad?
While not completely blown away by the game, we did give it a respectable 7/10 in our Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League PS5 review. "It's tough not to think about what could have been if Rocksteady opted for another traditional single player title — especially since the split personalities at this game's heart stop it from reaching the heights of the developer's previous works," we wrote. "But it's hard to say that Rocksteady entirely missed the mark with this big gamble," we concluded.
It's probably fair to assume that not everyone will get along with Suicide Squad, then, but right now, all we want to know is whether you've picked it up. So get voting in our poll, and explain yourself in the comments section below.
Are you playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? (2,929 votes)
- Yes, of course I'm playing it
- I plan on playing it, but not at launch
- Nah, I'm not sure about the game yet
- Nope, I'm too busy with other games
- No, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League just isn't for me

Absolutely not. Can't condone this garbage.
Warner Bros: Kill the Rocksteady
No, I'm a huge Batman fan but can't say a third person looter shooter set in that world is appealing. I may give it a go down the line in a sale but I've got too much to play with Tekken 8, Like A Dragon and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in a few weeks
I love the characters, so I'm sure I'll play it one day, but it will have to be on a deep, deep discount.
i definitely wanna play it, but $70 is bull
I plan on getting the game around the time the Joker update comes out, it's getting some decent reviews so can't be all that bad.
Yup, been having a blast with it so far.
Feels so good getting kills in this game.
Nah i'm not wasting my money on this.
Not for me. Have a blast if you are and I hope you enjoy it 👍
I spent like $7 on the Batman Arkham Trilogy on Steam. Way more worth it.
Hell, I'd rather buy the Switch release of the Batman Arkham games for $60. Sure, they're very flawed ports, but at least they're flawed ports of actually interesting and great games.
No chance am i paying for it. Too many other games that i want to support with my money. May try when it inevitably gets added to plus
Not for me. I’ll give it a go if it ever ends up on Plus Essential. I’d rather have played Justice League: kill the Suicide Squad. Single player, not GaaS, natch.
I’ve loved the former team since the reading their comics from 1980’s and couldn’t give two hoots about the latter.
It's not the game I have problem with, it's that price. Helldivers base edition cost half that much and it looks more fun. It should be around 30-35 USD. Banishers of new Eden is cheaper and (seemingly) offers a lot more ...
I don't like the art style, the gameplay and the Live-service model. Also, the reviews are mostly saying this is an average game.
That being said, if this game is for you, I hope you are having fun!
I'm not worthy of playing such an astonishing piece of art.
With 4 characters that play the exact same no thanks.
I played a friend's copy and actually really enjoyed it. I had way more fun than I was expecting to. I won't be paying full price but I can definitely see myself buying it. I think a lot of the negative comments are from people who have already made their mind up and have never played it.
I saw a side by side comparison of this and the 9 years older arkham knight and was shocked of how rocksteady seemingly regressed in all aspects over almost a decade.
I might be watching all cutscenes on YouTube however, since some say the story has it's merits.
Yes it’s great
Will be half off in a couple months, can definitely be patient to check it out
The game looks like garbage
I've been playing for 14 hours already, only on chapter 4. Loving the game so much right now, completely stop playing everything else at the moment.
I like the idea behind this game, but will not support this live service model.
Really enjoying the game so far. Much better than I thought it would be.
The incessant moaning from people who are never going to play it (and who were never going to play it) is hilarious 😂
@ItsBritneyB_tch No, I was going to play it because I genuinely wanted to play as Harley but I realize every character plays the exact same by shooting. Which is a real shame coming from Rocksteady who made the Arkham games that were all about melee combat.
Not yet! But I enjoyed the alpha so will probably pick it up at some point!
No, but once its on plus or gamepass I’ll give it a try as there seems to be some good parts in there but not going to pay anything extra for it.
@ItsBritneyB_tch @BeerIsAwesome
If we take this poll as a small test sample size and put it against your stated theory suggesting its just the outcry of enthusiast whiners that are for some reason spearheading a hate campaign against this "good" game, it seems to fall apart considering the pull results. The data actually suggests its those that like this game that are in the vast minority.
At the time of writing 579 out of 706 votes state they arents sure about the game or are outright not considering playing it. out of that 579, 430 (61%) aren't touching it period.
In fact, in the 3 years visiting this site, i would say these poll numbers thus far are the most overwhelming consensus I've seen yet. It would seem that the game is largely unappealing to most. Despite you being the minority, and enjoying it, of which I'm glad, it's a huge stretch to say that over 80%, of those polled that feel otherwise are just the invalid ramblings of bandwagon hardcore gamer haters doing so merely for the sake of hating.
Definitely not, even if it was free would not waste time with this.. the closed beta was enough to see where the game was going.. same old same old
PC players seem to be enjoying it, very positive on Steam..
Keep feeding these corporations, so we can continue to get this good level of content in the industry.
@KundaliniRising333 but the number of gamers visiting gaming sites like this one are a minority of the overall number of gamers. So 80% of the minority are ‘haters for the sake of hating.’
You’ll find the majority of people visiting sites like this one are overwhelmingly anti-live service (and view live service games as a cancer of the gaming industry). So their opinion is heavily biased and the result of the poll isn’t surprising in the least.
Most of the people voting haven’t played it and don’t intend to play it (watching videos on YouTube doesn’t count).
If Push Square published reviews without playing a game but based on watching a few videos on YouTube, we’d all think it was dumb. Because it is. How can you review a game (or form an opinion of it) without playing it?
My favorite part of this train wreck is Rocksteady teasing the Joker for the first DLC. Ya know...after he died.
This is the typical game I would download on Gamepass for free, store it on the hard drive for some weeks, and delete it when I need more space without even touching it
Personally I have 0 interest in the American culture and all of this superhero stuff, so I don't even bother with this game. But I understand that people in the US or UK will love it.
GAAS = HELL NO.
Absolutely no interest in this type of game.
Tis I, the one person that likes the game
Hum... the naysayers are out in force ***** on the game before they've even played it 🙄
Well, at 41 hours of play time I'm still having a blast and I HAVEN'T finished the campaign yet, so all this talk of it only being 7 hours long is nonsense.
Suicide Squad is actually a very polished game that looks gorgeous on PS5... character models, cutscenes and voice acting are all top notch and the co-op has been seamless and bug free. Yup, it's a shooter but it's also a really good Arkhamverse story that has many of the classic Rocksteady lore nods and easter eggs along with a great performance by the late Kevin Conroy.
If you're an Arkham purist who JUST wants a Batman game then this probably ain't for you, but if you liked The Division, Outriders or Zombie Army and even the original Crackdown, then you'll have a lot of fun playing this.
Suicide Squad has a lot of serious storyline going on with some real WTF/emotional moments, but it also doesn't take itself too seriously and the members of the squad are all on point when it comes to their humor and banter... at times it reminded me of the good Saints Row games (i.e. SR2 and SR3) and that ain't a bad thing at all lol.
Anyway it's disappointing that people have jumped on the hate bandwagon just because it's not an actual Batman game and it's "Live Service", but that's the culture we exist with today. Suicide Squad however does not ram the "Live Service" down your throat at all, there's no FOMO trap at work and it does not oblige you to buy anything from the cosmetic store or pay to win. It's a co-op game after all so you're not trying to one-up your friends with your KD ratio.
At the end of the day video games are supposed to be fun, and that's exactly what Suicide Squad is... 🫶
Bought it on Xbox for £25...haven't played it yet...and obviously I wanted this to be a story driven single player game ...but it is what it is...and I'm going to give a try
Find it laughable all the band wagon hate ...people claiming this and that and clearly have not played the game or even followed it really atall ...just saw others hating onit and decided to jump in .
Not shocked atall though....very few people nowadays can think for themselves
I’m so over super heroes, that I don’t even have any desire to play Spider Man 2. So i don’t think I’ll ever get around to playing this even if it came to Plus essential. But if you are having fun with a video game you purchased, then have at it!
I learned my lesson with MK1. WB games are bargain bin games.
I played the Alpha test and was surprised how much I liked it. The combat was very fluid and forced a nice ebb and flow between traversal and combat. Also, the cut scenes and dialogue were really fun. However, I play primarily single player games, so this would be a case of only playing single so I will wait until I can pick it up for around $30.00.
Not.my kind.of game. And Rocksteady normally.makes just that. Shame.
Joker uses an umbrella. That's Penguin's thing. The whole game is like that. Batman as a giant shooting fire lasers.
I don't buy GAAS games in the hope that one day they get the hint and stop pushing them on us.
I am done with full priced games that have free 2 play mechanics. I am not paying $70 to have to pay another $10 in a shop for a single f****** costume. Like Marvel's Avengers before, maybe if one day the shop become free, i will then give a chance to the product.
Lol no
It's a fully priced "live service" with egregious additional monetisation on top of the initial purchase.
That alone is enough to know it's completely rubbish and unworthy of anyone's time/money.
@StylesT Hilarious, accuses others of not thinking for themselves but didn't bother to find out for themselves it's not a singleplayer game before buying it.
It's a fully priced live service game that has additional MTX. That's all I need to know to know it can get in the sea.
Nope I don't condone this title.
Not because they don't have a choice of what they make but seriously your best effort after 9 years and a continuation of the Markham games.
You gave us bullet sponge points galore looter shooter with what people have said who have completed the game, very basic missions of taking down waves of enemies but with a tacked of rocksteady story.
I've seen the hud and it looks awful.
The game looks good but it really is a out n out live service looter shooter with the skin of the dc characters
Yes the story is ment to be OK but I've heard it misses the point and doesn't go far enough.
It's a hard pass for me and I probably will never pick it up.
Have you seen how quiet it's gone since it's come out aswel. Seems like many enjoyed the game but not enough to come back to it.so I won't bother.
Truthfully though it would had to be some genre defying game for me to be pushed to play a looter shooter.
Played the alpha a couple of months ago. That was more than enough for me.
The comments on this site will always be at odds with the masses. I expect it to chart in sales data for February in the top 8 games.
@Pixipantalon if I was into and really enjoyed Gotham Knights, what are my odds here? Your point about The Division is appealing to me, as I still think about going back to that from time to time. I’m tempted to ignore the reviews and people as Wanted Dead was one of my favorite games last year that was highly looked down on by reviews and ignored by most.
@ErrantRob Hey Rob... well I really enjoyed Gotham Knights too, and The Division, which I also still play from time to time and would continue to do so if there was some newer and more diverse content available... I really think they missed a trick with the Resident Evil crossover event as the gameplay would have been amazing if Washington had been overrun with zombies haha! Interesting that The Division is infinitely more bullet-spongey than Suicide Squad and has similar open world gameplay with patrolling enemies AND a decent overarching story, but has generally been well received. What would the reaction to The Division 2 have been if it had previously been a Last of Us style single-player narrative driven game I wonder 😄
Anyway in answer to your question, I think you'll most likely enjoy Suicide Squad and I DEFINITELY think the best way to approach it is indeed to ignore all the negative press (as I did) and form your own opinion about the game... given you really enjoyed Gotham Knights and The Division, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet you'll have fun with SS 🫶
Pathetic garbage this is.
@UltimateOtaku91
Decent reviews??? Where??
You need to seriously question anywhere that reviews this trash positively
@MakaZA There's a few 7/8 scores out there, this site gave a 7, Purexbox gave it an 8, VGC gave it an 80/100 as well, although I admit the majority are not looking good. I will play the game to see for myself but I won't be buying it brand new.
@Korra huh?lol.
When a game has buzzwords like always online, loot, battle pass and micro transactions it's a no from me especially when it's a £70 game that I can't actually own and will probably be taken offline in a year or so
@tameshiyaku Aye, it really looks like they took 1 step forward and 10 steps back in regards to the art direction. Not a game for me either way, so won't be supporting this, seems like Rocksteady lost some talented artists over the years though.
The only looter shooter that ever grabbed and held my attention was The Division 1 and 2, still enjoy them even now, but usually not a fan of this type of game.
It looks fun, but I'm not getting it now. I've seen everything that happens, so I'm curious how the gameplay goes on a technical level. I don't have a horse in the hate bandwagon, I'm quite neutral so I see things clearly for what they are.
Removed - flaming/arguing
It's actually a pretty fun game with lovable characters and a nice story. People are too negative. If you don't like it, fine, but you don't need to be so rude about it because people have different opinions and people don't understand that anymore. People like different things and this isn't a bad game as much as people make it out to be. It's a shame it got so much negative reception just for not being the same game released again like the other Arkham games🤣
Your having a laugh....
Do way back for Rocksteady after this tripe.
I have zero interest in killing the Justice League. I want to PLAY AS the Justice League.
