Hi.
I’ve recently bought a add-on (Final Fantasy 7 Intermission), I didn’t want it so I didn’t download it and asked for a refund as soon as I had time for it (I’ve ordered during Christmas and support was down for some days during festive period).

I managed to request it within the 14 days and I never download it or anything like that, so I assumed I was entitled to the refund.
The reply I got was, because it’s an add-on it gets associated to my game , so it show as I’ve downloaded it, therefore I couldn’t get the refund. I’ve emailed back saying that I couldn’t find that in the policies and that I should get a refund still.

Since I’ve got not reply, yet, I was wondering if anyone is able to point me in the right direction. I’m not to sure if I’m in the wrong, everything I’ve read doesn’t say that add-one get automatically associated to games and we can’t refund.

Anyone able to help me out?

Kind regards

SonGohan

Yikes, I've known their return policy for digital purchases was awful in comparison to Xbox's, but that's a new low even for Sony. I've never read their return policy to see what it is for add-ons as I've never wanted to get a refund for one, but it should be the same for all digital content. You are definitely not wrong in assuming it is the same, and that you should still get a refund. Hopefully it gets worked out as that is ridiculous otherwise.

Like @Kidfried, this is one of my biggest issues with an all digital future, especially with PlayStation. You can return them for a refund no problem with Xbox most of the time, even if you've played it, but it's a future I wouldn't want as a PlayStation owner. That and it would also take away a nice benefit of the PS5 where a lot of the game is on the disc (unlike on Xbox) because of their great compression and the use of UHD discs.

Anyways, good luck.
